  7. It's GO TIME. All threads will open Friday December 10 at 12:01 EST, and remain open until Friday December 17 at 11:59 EST. Payment will be required in full through the league Paypal (or by private donation) by Sunday December 19 at 11:59 EST. Any winners of the auction (and blood donors) will be eligible to claim the individual donation reward, unless they have already donated. Opening bids will start at $2.00, and with a minimum $0.50 increase on the previous bid. All bids are in Canadian Dollars. By now, it should go without saying that all prizes must be safe for work. Except maybe Jardy's stank-ass underwear, that's Not Safe for Life. Good luck, have fun, happy holidays, and let's raise some money for the Red Cross (or your charity of choice)!
  8. UPDATE: The league has chosen to donate our funds equally to two parallel organizations, with the option for members to donate directly to their local chapter. Our charity is: We had so many good ideas in the suggestions thread that, as always, you can direct your funds to another organization. As long as they're a registered charity wherever they exist, we'll accept the donation for the drive. If you're donating in a different currency than CAD, please translate the exchange rate for us. Happy fundraising everyone!
  9. I'm posting the threads today. Please feel free to post an "ad" in the thread. GFX people: include a 'portfolio' to show off your skills and convince people to buy your work. Misc items that benefit the whole community instead of one person (ie: streams and farm tour(s)) - I'm going to pick a reasonable number for a stretch goal. Let me know if you want a different number. With a stretch goal, everyone can pool their money together. For example, if we hit $300 cumulatively, then Jardy will eat a literal turd sandwich.
  10. Hell yeah @Darth Kaprizov is a great guy, a beauty WJC GM, and clearly a fortune teller of grades. Turns out all you had to do was believe in Gus to get a league-wide shoutout!
  11. I don't know what this means
  12. Also the live studio audience is the best part of Feud. I love shouting along with them in just the most dramatic voices as they reveal the answers. SCRAAAAMBLED EGGGGGS?!!
  13. Bed time only exists on school nights, let’s get funky and feudy
  14. It’s 10pm for me in CEST, pop in and be out live studio audience! Fun Fact: I was once in the live audience for Family Feud Canada with Gerry Dee and it was the worst experience of my life. 0/10 would not recommend. It was 6 hours from showing up to leaving to record two 25 minute episodes. No food or drinks, minimal pee breaks, and the game is not as good or well put together live as it is on TV. So come watch us on Twitch and it’ll be better than that!
  15. Are you discord-eligible yet young padawan?
  16. YOOOO I CAN DO THAT DATE AND TIME!!!
  17. Ha I found it, definitely not worth a tag, he says you’re really good at writing HoF articles
  18. The ugh reaction doesn’t capture how I feel so, UGH.
  19. Hit play and walk away. We get the play numbers and you save your brain cells. Win win.
  20. Here's the compiled list of everyone who put forth a (serious) offer to the Holiday Charity Auction. If you don't want to do it anymore, please comment in this thread. No hard feelings if you don't, especially for something that's jam packed like gfx. 21. TPE IS ACTUALLY BAD and I say that both because of this guy and because I wasn't the highest TPE earner in my class ugh
  22. I dunno how I’ve missed it my whole life, but I’m reading Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury with my 11th graders now. It’s awesome. There’s so many threads to pull on, but we’re focusing on the question of happiness, technology, and the pace of life. It’s written in the 1950s and so scary accurately predicts our current world. “Are you actually happy”, and “does constant access to technology actually make you happier” are friggin big questions to ask yourself.
  23. Clearly I need to brush up on my history eh. fuck it up in the best way. JUST DO IT!
  24. I totally get, I really do. First gens build a connection with their first GM and first team. You always remember your first, they say. Your first LR is your entire experience and impression of the VHL. The M GMs are fantastic at their jobs, and that shows when players don’t want to leave. I regretted going up to the VHL because friggin DLamb stayed down the extra season, came up at 400 TPE, and won Rookie of the Year. Now everyone will get to the bigs at 400, which is nice, but I did have the same moral dilemma you’re having right now. Unfortunately, the structure of the league just isn’t built for the career minor leaguer. We need people to graduate the M when they’re ready to make space for new recruits and recreates. And then we need them to graduate the E to make space for the slower earners, inactives, or next-season-VHLers. I dunno how well versed you are in sim leagues, but I am determined that no one should ever stop earning TPE. In the EFL, my GM told me to just stop once I got to 199 so I wouldn’t go over and have to move up. I completely went inactive at that point. Sitting and waiting in the LR sounds like fun, but it’s really not sustainable from a retention standpoint. I know it’s all personal choice, and if you choose to stop at 199 I can’t stop you, and I can tell you it’s still a lot of fun to be a loyal VHL player (or a cut throat mercenary going to free agency at every chance) but you don’t have to believe me. Just do what’s best for you, and please for the love of Simon T, don’t ever turn down an opportunity for TPE.
