I specifically requested people try to organize things to keep things interesting, especially the much emptier final week but people didn’t listen. We did know this one was going to be long unfortunately, not much we could do about it. Even with the extra week there were a lot of people that still didn’t get their hybrid attributes done. We don’t do long ones like this often but sometimes it has to happen unfortunately.

INDEX @VHL GM Before we get into the usual spiel here you'll all recall that because of implementing the hybrid attributes we're going to have a small pre-season this season. The closest I could get it to the 6 games per team that we wanted was 8 games so this will last 3 or 4 days depending how I handle it. Annoyingly to get a number that low meant that I had to keep the pre-season limited to your own conference. It's not perfect but at least it's something. We will use pre-season to judge scoring numbers and adjust sliders if need be, specifically if it looks like goalies are a bit too strong. Anyway, You all know the drill by now, GM's are no longer required to email in their lines to submit them. To send in your lines please use the Team Management section of the portal. The process for downloading the client file and using STHS to make your lines is still the same, and if you have manual requests due to waiver pick ups or other roster changes please PM me your notes. Either discord or forum PM is fine. I have made sure your lines can all be made for this first set (IE no bots missing to make rosters incomplete) but please look over your rosters carefully to make sure everyone is present that should be, no one is present that shouldn't be, and everyone's position is correct. If you see any issues please notify me ASAP so it can be corrected for tomorrow's sim. As has been the case for a few seasons now all sims will be done live. I cannot promise you a specific time for these (though around 6:15pm EST is most likely) and, likewise, I can't promise you they will be very entertaining; in fact I can almost guarantee that they won't be. However in an effort to be more transparent with our simming you will all be able to watch me click buttons in all it's glory. I will do my best to put a message in here and on discord whenever I go live but may forget some days. In the case of discord if you wish to be notified please make sure to check out the #roles channel for information on how. It was streamed at 720p60 if anyone is curious. Luckily the game doesn’t have crazy visual fidelity anyway so you won’t be missing much if that’s all it is. Fun stream! Thanks to everyone that came and hang out while we watched a bunch of virtual animals and complained about virtual humans; it was a good time once we got passed the first hour of technical difficulties. I’m going to try and export the full VOD tomorrow, in the meantime I’m sure @Dil has plenty of clips he can share.

Back in December I told you all that if we achieved $3000 or more in the charity drive I would stream Zoo Tycoon 2 Ultimate for you all. It may have taken 4 months but I am finally making due on that promise. If you all read the off season schedule carefully you’ll know that tonight is the night for that stream! I’m not sure how long it’ll be but I’m aiming for at least 3 hours starting at 6:30pm EST (which is 7:30 for me). I’m making this topic in advance just so people can discuss and so people have a quick and easy place to get the link when I go live. To be honest it probably used to happen. People didn’t really realize how strong Defense was for forwards back in the day but people definitely tried to build pass first players so I wouldn’t be surprised at all if we used to have forwards with higher passing than Defense.

You know this is in a public section right? Non-Hounds people could very much skew the results.

It’s funny because that really only became the mindset in the last maybe 10-12 seasons. Before then the conventional wisdom was to keep a gap of at least 10 but passing was still useful. Based off our testing even if everything else is pure meta adding passing will still improve the player, TPE always won out in the end. It’s just that unfortunately there was a period between 40 and 60-70ish where a pure meta player would get worse before they got better. This only seemed to apply the pure meta players but it was also tough to tell since so many players in our testing were built that way.

Old habits die hard and people were trying to avoid passing even if that meant wasting points. I imagine a lot of early re-rolls will be for people who went hard on the shooting stats without thinking about the consequences.

That is the idea tbh.

Because we added the attribute late and didn't think of it honestly. I feel like the name is the bigger issue really. We just wanted something that combined a couple of secondary attributes.

Of note @VHL GM @VHLM GM @VHLE GM: With the deadline for applying hybrid attributes drawing ever closer if you have players that don’t TECHNICALLY fall under inactive rules but clearly have not been around for some time and are likely to not return before the deadline then you can handle them as if they are inactive. If they return to activity the free re-roll is still present. This is being offered to ensure that members who may have just been away a couple of weeks aren’t being retired unnecessarily.

The recruitment crew is looking for new members! Tasks of the crew vary greatly but in general the crew’s list of jobs includes: - Cultivating new and existing partnerships with ad partners and affiliates. - Designing and running as campaigns. - Working closely with the blue team on retention and recruitment promotions. - Designing promotional material. - Running Social Media Accounts. - Aiding in retention efforts for new members. Obviously not everyone needs to be skilled at all of the above nor will they be tasked with everything but in the past we have found a large variation of skills to be helpful. Job pay is 6 TPE/week. At this moment we don’t have a specific crew amount in mind so we could hire 1 or many. If you are interested please apply below. As usual please try to keep this thread free of unnecessary discussion so that we can focus on people applying for the position.
