  1. So, I have realised that it is easier for me to write a VHL.com article rather than a PBE PT each week, so I have returned just to write these. Though I will not be active otherwise, my TPE should hopefully rise slightly which is better than nothing. So what has Riley been doing lately? Whilst she hasn't been putting as many hours into her training as she had before, she has been turning up to matches to keep playing for Calgary, she has been a little stiffer on the ice because she has not been keeping up her fitness in between matches. Instead, Riley has just been resting and taking some time to herself to work on her health. Hopefully, Riley will continue to be alright during matches despite her lack of training lately. She hasn't even been talking to her team members very much which is probably not great for her morale but it is what it is.
  2. Hi everyone, welcome to this week's Halifax 21st Press Conference for the 22nd to the 28th of February. Hope you're all having a nice week. Here are the questions for you to respond to in order to get your 2 TPE, please remember that you only need to answer 6. 1. Would your player ever consider dying their hair a different colour? How would it look? Or why wouldn't they? 2. Is there anything that helps you to get into the routine of remembering to complete your VHL tasks each week? 3. Can you describe the way your player feels when they are on the ice during a match? 4. How would you describe the locker room environment of Halifax? 5. What type of boat does your player travel on to get to and from the Ice Rink? 6. What does your player do to remain positive during a rough season? 7. If the team were to appear as a cameo on a show, which show would it be and how would the scene go? 8. Your player has to sponsor a brand of cereal, which brand do they choose? @bluesfan55@Brewins15@Rick132@ShawnGlade@Flames1Fan@efiug@GRZ@rory @stew2310@charlienhl@Jolline@capogna@MikkoKoskinensMistress@Tbeez99@IHateBobNutting@tylerwest@Willy Myers@Gwdjohnson@Peacefulrioter
  3. So as you all know, Riley Couture cannot start a match without drinking a can of monster energy. She would be too tired without her caffeinated boost to get her going. Well, this has unfortunately been proven to not just be a theory as this came into reality in her last game. Riley had slept in before her match, and having woken up late she ran to catch her boat ride to the Calgary match, still wearing her pajamas, carrying a sports bag with a change of clothes inside. On the boat ride, Riley kept yawing and she was struggling to keep herself awake. She realized on her way there that she hadn't picked up her can of monster on the way out of her house and she screamed. How was she gonna make it through the game without the drink? When she finally got out onto the ice for her match, she just fell asleep on the spot and lied in the middle of the ice dreaming. Her teammates had to carry her off to the side and one of the backup players took her place for that match. Her coach said she can never go on the ice without drinking caffeine again.
  4. Welcome to the Halifax 21st press conference for the 15th - 21st February. Hope you all had a nice valentines whether sharing love with partners or with your friends and family. Here come the questions, please remember that you only need to answer 6. 1. Which folklore/cryptid creature do you think would make the best mascot for Halifax 21st and why? 2. If you were forming a band with a handful of your team mates, what type of instrumment would you play? 3. Is there a song that you listen to while you are training? 4. What are you most excited for in your player's future? 5. Does your player have a morning routine? 6. Would you rather be good at figure skating or have more strength? 7. What snacks does your player bring on a coach trip to share with the team?
  5. One of the things that Riley Couture likes to do during a match for her good luck ritual is to wear unmatching socks beneath her uniform, she has found that on days where she wears matching socks she doesn't play as well. For example, one time that her washing machine had broken, while she was waiting for it to be fixed she was lacking pairs of socks. She could only find a few stray socks at the back of her drawer so she grabbed out one green and one black sock. She put them on underneath her larger sports socks, something she does anyway to keep her feet warm on the ice and since she finds ordinary sock material to be softer than the scratchy socks she has to wear with her kit. And during that game, she managed to get double the amount of passes that lead to assists.
  6. Riley Couture was starting to get a lot of burn out from playing so many games in a row and non-stop training, she could feel herself getting more lethargic and exhausted both mentally and physically. As much as she wanted to deny it, to keep training, keep playing, she couldn't. She had to accept it, it was time for a vacation. But where should she go to visit? She had a big decision to make with many many choices. Riley got out her tourism booklet and looked through the pictures of where she could go. Maybe a tropical beach where she could relax and sunbathe? Maybe a huge city where she could go shopping and buy products that she wouldn't find in Calgary? Maybe she could visit the countryside and go camping? So many options. In the end, after many hours of consideration, Riley decided that she wanted to visit Paris as there are many attractions there that she would like to see. Riley booked her tickets, went to bed and then waited for the day of her holiday to come around. On the day of her flight, Riley packed her bags and left in a taxi to take her to the airport, where she got into business class on her flight to France. On the plane, she watched a bunch of shows on the screen in front of her and she was served a ravioli dish with lots of cheese. It was very delicious and perfect to eat before taking a nap. Once Riley got to Paris she set her sights straight for the river seine cruise boats. She wanted to ride along the river get a good look at the sites. The tour guide gave lots of information over the speakers as Riley sat back and relaxed on the floaty boat. Of course, she would enjoy a boat journey as the AGM of the boat gang itself, Halifax 21st.The ride was very calming for Riley and when she got off she made her way over to the park where the Eiffel tower is. Riley walked around the park, enjoying the large patches of grass, the tall bushes and pretty trees as she looked for a spot to sit down and eat a sandwich. She got sat near the hedge as she tucked into her picnic. Very nice and cheesy for her to enjoy. After lunch she got a better look at the tower, though she decided not to go up because it was very crowded, she liked seeing the incredible structure from the bottom. Riley really enjoyed her vacation in Paris, whilst she was there she also visited the Louvre museum where she loved to see all of the fantastic and genius paintings. She also visited some restaurants and gift shops. From her trip as a souvenir, she picked up a simple 'I Paris' shirt and a small keyring that looked in the shape of the Eiffel tower, she attached it to the zipper on her suit case before heading back home. She felt much more relaxed now and ready to do her training once again.
  7. Hi Boat Gang, welcome to the Halifax 21st Press Conference for the 8th of Febraury to the 14th. Please remeber that you only need to answer 6 questions in order to get your TPE. 1. Which team in the VHLM would you describe as our biggest rival and why? 2. If your player could meet any player from the NHL, who would it be, and what tip would they ask for? 3. What is the first thing you do after you get home after a match? 4. Who is your player's next of kin and what are they like? 5. What type of car does your player drive? 6. Does your player prefer to eat cake or pie for dessert? 7. Would you player step up as a leader in an emergency, or prefer to take commands from others? 8. If your player was tasked to write an essay, what would the topic and title be? @GlowyGoat@stew2310@Jolline@capogna@DangerGolding@Tbeez99@IHateBobNutting@tylerwest@wa_de@Willy Myers@Peacefulrioter@Brewins15@ShawnGlade@kentakira@Flames1Fan@efiug@emidas@GRZ@rory
  8. After the VHL's Marketing and Catering teams gave an arm and a leg working hard to get this deal through, I am pleased to announce that Krispy Kreme is finally willing to do a collaboration with the VHL. Krispy Kreme will be selling their doughnuts in the team's stadiums during matches. Whilst an arrangement of doughnuts will be available, there will one specific flavour of doughnut that will represent each team, and this doughnut will be pushed in that team's stadium in order to sell double. Here is a list of which doughnuts will represent the US teams. Calgary Wranglers As a team who's mascot is a horse, the Calgary Wranglers bring simple farm life to mind. So what could be more perfect than the Apple Fritter Doughnut? As fans bite into the doughnut, thoughts of beautiful apple orchards as fields of beautiful galloping horses with flowing manes lay in the distance. Chicago Phoenix One of the desserts that are popular in Chicago is the rainbow cone, to remain in theme Krispy Kreme decided that the best doughnut to sell at this stadium would be the Cake Batter Doughnut. This Doughnut has rainbow sprinkles so can be sold along side the popular ice cream dish. D.C. Dragons A team with a mythical mascot is deserving of a legendary doughnut. For that reason, the D.C. Dragons will be represented by the Glazed Chocolate Cake Doughnut. This doughnut that is rich in flavour will get any fan pumped up to see a Dragon's match. Los Angeles Stars What would be better for a team called the stars than a sprinkled doughnut? That's why this team's representative doughnut will be the strawberry iced with sprinkles doughnut. It had that classic doughnut look and great taste. New York Americans Doughnuts are already a staple of New York culture, so to keep things simple this team will be selling the original glazed doughnut. Many fans of this team love the classic doughnut taste of the original flavour. It just feels patriotic for a team called the Americans to serve this kind of doughnut. Seattle Bears Since this city loves its coffee, the stadium decided to serve something that would be complementary to the roasty flavours. For that reason, they have chosen the Chocolate Iced Glazed doughnut. Perfect for dipping in your drink whilst watching a Bears match. They have to try and stay awake to see the scores, of course. Toronto Legion The doughnut that best represents Toronto just seems clear, it has to be the Maple Iced Glazed doughnut. The flavours of this doughnut just feel canadian through and through. A great flavour to get Legion fans in the mood for a great game. Vancouver Wolves The Glazed Cruller will be the Wolves' doughnut since it has pointed edges that remind the fans of the wolf's pointy claws and teeth. It's wolves imagery packed into a delicious doughy ring. A great snack to get fans riled up to watch the wolves play during a match.
  9. This week Riley Couture has been feeling under the weather. She woke up on Thursday with a bad cough and she felt very exhausted. This meant that she had not been as busy at her assistant general manager role, in the Halifax 21st team, this week, she has been resting a little more instead. However, she has still tried to get onto the ice for her team Calgary. Even though she managed to play she had to take regular breaks to sit on the bench and use a nebuliser to make sure that she could breathe enough to skate around effortlessly. Luckily towards the weekend, Riley has started to pick up although she still does not feel 100% yet, she does hope that she will feel better next week so that she can train more effectively and spend more attention to Halifax Gming and keeping the locker room busy and fun.

  12. Riley Couture was worried this week when she went into the Halifax locker room and noticed that her assistant assistant general manager, Rick Osman, was missing. She got scared and tried to work out what had happened. It turned out that the assistant assistant general manager role was not being respected, by the new ownership, as he was criticised for creating too many roles. Riley felt a little guilty as she had also created a lot of roles on the server, even if that responsibility was mostly left up to Rick. As a result of the criticism, Rick felt the need to step down. However, Riley couldn't handle doing the responsibilities of an assistant assistant general manager on top of her own assistant general manager responsibilities. Therefore she went to talk to Rick and tried to re-hire him for the position. Here is how the conversation went. Riley: I am struggling without an assistant assistant gm Rick: oh no i can be aagm And then he re-took up the role. He is now the AAGM of the Halifax 21st locker Room again. Thank goodness, now Riley can relax and focus more on training.
  13. Hi BOAT GANG, hope you're getting along well. Here are the press conference questions for the 25th of January to the 31st. You only need to answer 6 questions to get your 2 TPE. 1. Which movie/tv show character does your player most relate to and why? 8. Have you ever had a nice compliment from a Halifax Fan? 14. Riley has been working this week, with her team, to build up a new locker room for the Halifax 21st. The new GM Rory, too, has been working to make sure the new locker room is active and friendly. We've added in a requested room where team members and friends can go in to talk about v-tubers, a common hobby amongst Halifax members and their fans. And furthermore, we have added in a room where we can listen to music together, so far Riley has been listening to some Vocaloid songs in there. The locker room has been fun, with many regulars including; other riley, emi and richard osman who is a team alumni. Riley, Emi and Richard seem to talk a lot about England, which is weird because Halifax is in Canada, why do they keep bringing up windmills and Halifax bank so much? Who knows. Hopefully, the locker room will continue to be fun and active going forwards.
