Listen I know the Theme is VHL AT 15 but I think it would be better as VHL IN 15, so I’m going to slam this one out in a stream of consciousness in 15 minutes. Normally I can get it done in about 20-30 so this shouldn’t be too bad so long as my fingers keep working. What do we have now? We’ve been doing a lot of praying to Simon in the Wranglers LR, because obviously he hates us if you look at really any of our sims where Janser doesn’t get a hattrick. We keep losing games we out shoot in, or just suck so badly against teams way below us in the standings. Landon Wolanin has been pretty mediocre, although that’s to be expected. But I did check the player list of players in the VHL and apparently, as of when I looked at least, I’m the 81st highest TPE player in the league which makes me roughly any team’s 5th best player. That’s kind of cool as a rookie and a testament to how little of a life I truly have over the summer. That might change in a month when I’m getting ready for my last year of university, but to be honest I doubt it. San Diego kind of sucks now, which is really to be expected with just an (almost) IA forward and Minion standing on his head. We got shut out twice yesterday, which isn’t really fun but its what I get for going all in on the future. Minion is getting starts and I’m pretty much just rooting for his individual success right now which is fun. Nice to focus on someone else’s player other than mine. Speaking of other players Gustav and I were talking earlier today about Art Vandelay (Art Vandelay) as we regularly do, because what else is there in this world other than Art Vandelay (Art Vandelay). We tried to describe the legend to other people in the LR, because we were talking in an EFL LR, so they hadn’t heard the legend and I had never stopped to think about how silly it is anyways. Art Vandelay (Art Vandelay) has simply become to me what Andrei Vasilevskiy (I just wasted like 2 of my minutes trying to figure out how to spell that) has become for me in the NHL. Like he’s great, like one of the best (probably just the best), but its not necessarily the averages that dictate that (although they are incredible), it’s just the pure game-breaking domination displayed sometimes. Like the amount of games, I watched where Vasilevskiy was just a goalie, was pretty often. But those games where he was an absolute WIZARD, I remember. Art Vandelay (Art Vandelay) is stuck n my mind like that. I sit in a pool of my own terror sweats when I think about playing him, not because of the averages, but the thought of losing 3-1 when we outshot them 72-8. That hasn’t happened yet but every time it doesn’t, I know the next time could be it. And now I have to think about that my entire career. Lets talk about the theme a little more as I begin to run out of time. So, 15 years ago I was but a wee lad. I ALMOST had a grasp on what offside was in hockey which is pretty cool. The Leafs were horrendous as always, and I think I was really only allowed to watch the 1st period on the 7:00 starts since my bedtime was MUCH earlier than it is now. I was probably just playing soccer in the summers, most of my athletics happened in my teens. Hockey really only became a dominant thing in my life in like 2013, soon after that first Leafs Game 7 debacle. Then I joined a bunch of fantasy leagues with my uncle and became obsessed with stats and contracts and all that jazz. Then it was EHM (shoutout to Shindigs for teaching me about EHM on that forum before we even met on here). Now I can barely even focus on either of those because of how much I prefer this (ignore my 2572 hours of EHM on Steam). Oh God out of time Thanks Everyone! claiming week of July 31st since I already submitted a Media Spot this week.

Welcome @Justin.S! I have so much ice time here in San Diego, you can play top line and special teams! We may not be destined to do well this season, but I can help you learn the site and get you all prepared for the VHLM draft in the offseason! Quote this and reply with #jointhebigfish and I'll send you a standard contract!

Calgary has been on a bit of a slide in the last 10 games, and Landon Wolanin’s sloppy performance should be on the forefront of the discussion. As much as Wolanin has the 2nd highest shooting percentage on the team, he has only scored 1 goal on the 38 shots over the last 10 games. He has also been shooting rather streakily, having multiple 1 shot games. Wolanin obviously needs to be shooting more often in order to score at a good rate. Playing the majority of the time with Janser and Kotkakoivu, obviously the offense will flow through them, but Wolanin could be said to be holding them back from performing at the same level they have historically. Tough to say, but this won’t be slowing Wolanin down when it comes to training. He will continue to push himself to be a star, but it is never an instantaneous thing. Trust the process, trade the picks. Oh wait wrong saying.

VHLM Power Rankings – 50% Edition 1. Las Vegas Aces (-) Vegas has begun to pull away from the rest of the pack, creating a 7-point lead over the second place team. They haven’t had to make any major moves this season, but they have been reliably earning. They have also gathered a few “nepotism hires” as Shindigs likes to call them. Perks of being a figure in multiple sim leagues is you have the reach to bring over talent from other leagues. And so far, it seems to be working well for them. 2. Houston Bulls (+2) A team that has undergone major upgrades over the season, boasting a deep skater group, and probably the best Defense-core in the league. Recent additions Phil Strasmore and Lloyd Braun add some offensive prowess to the Bulls back end, and should help them compete with the high flying offenses of other contenders. As Bill Nye the Puck Stopping Guy catches up to the top goaltenders, Houston should continue to see success. 3. Mississauga Hounds (-) Mississauga has addressed their goaltending and defensive hole quite nicely, bringing in Franklin Franklinsen and Karl Pedersen. Whatever they’ve been doing has been able to best most teams efforts to stop them from scoring. This team is high flying offense, and with a capped goaltender behind them, they can be confident in taking the risks they need to continue to play to this level. 4. Mexico City Kings (-2) After what seemed to be a miraculous draft, their forward group has lacked that earning drive. Although their top players have stayed engaged, their depth seems lacking compared to other groups. They have however had strong showings from both of their goaltenders, and should look to that strength down the stretch. 5. Philadelphia Reapers (-) After 2 large trades for Alfred Champagne, John Jameson, and Babay Shrimp, this looks to be the best forward group in the league by far. Their top D pairing has served well so far, but I still have concerns over their goaltending. The TPE isn’t necessarily an issue, although leaves a lot to be desired, the build doesn’t seem to be working at all. Despite the “goalie boost” since the hybrid attributes, Bihler has been the worst performing starting goaltender by a large margin. There is lots of time to apply points effectively, so look for a push through the pack half of the season for this player. 6. Halifax 21st (+2) The Power of Jeff Bezos is strong with this team. Halifax must be paying off their referees, since even 2 TPA jacob cooke jr has 28 points in 26 games. This team is probably just playing way above their ceiling, but considering the lack of moves in general, this team seems destined to be playoff fodder for a contender. 7. Ottawa Lynx (-1) The only thing keeping this team from surpassing Halifax is the lack of solidified goaltending. I don’t think this team was aiming to compete all that much, so offering a trial to 2 new goaltenders is a great move for player development and boosting team image. Both seem to be maintaining activity, and more or less staying in line with each other TPE-wise. Kind of a fun story the more I think about it. 8. Saskatoon Wild (+1) Saskatoon are just hanging out right now. They have some fun pieces still, not really making any moves. Just sitting back and enjoying themselves. I respect it. Nothing has changed for them in the last quarter of a season, and honestly, I don’t expect much to change for the rest of it. Sometimes seasons are like this, and that’s okay. 9. Miami Marauders (+1) After creating a super exciting forward group, but missing out on goaltenders early, Miami has chosen to sell off their assets for future picks. They seem to be stocking the shelves for a smooth transition into a new era of Marauders history, and I applaud their efforts to build long success after what has been an underrated dynasty over the last few seasons. Tough to have to tap out, but what a way to do it. 10. San Diego Marlins (-3) After all the bias I had towards myself and the Marlins for the most part of the season, it is time to bring myself back down to Earth. The Marlins have undergone the most dramatic transformation of all the teams this quarter. In 4 individual blockbuster trades, the Marlins have seen every active member of the team leave, while amassing 4 first-round picks, 2 second-round picks, 2 4ths and a 7th rounder. Some may not like the approach taken here, and honestly, it wasn’t fun for me either, but I’d rather see my players bringing their energy enthusiasm and talents to a team where they can make a difference, instead of being stomped in the first round by an actual contender. This allows us to build once again for a long term run, potentially even starting next season.

Definitely learned a lot from Frank, and having him on the team for the last few weeks was really helpful for making a fun team. I really liked the team we assembled this season, some amazing users and a lot of exciting moments, but I knew I didn't have the future assets to bolster the team in a way that could help us compete with the likes of Vegas and the other contenders, so I figured I should tear down and restock the shelves after an exciting few seasons. Appreciate the support as always!

SAN DIEGO MARLINS PRESS CONFERENCE Week Ending 7/17/2022 or 7/24/2022 Answer 3 questions for 1 capped TPE, all 6 for 2. 1. The theme week should be announced soon, if you haven't seen it b the time you read this, any predictions? Otherwise give me your thoughts on it. 2. The focus for the Marlins seems to have swung to future seasons, what can we do to make the most of the rest of the season? 3. At the time of writing this, we are still 3-points in the playoffs. Do you see us making the playoffs? 4. The NHL Entry draft happened recently, if you paid attention to it, who do you think did well? Otherwise, what round do you think your player would go? 5. What is the best flavour of ice cream? 6. What are you looking forward to in the rest of July? @FriedRiceJutsu @Minion
