  12. Congrats VHLE. You didn't end your season on day 3 of the playoffs. For your reward you get a fantasy zone. Form closes on Day 3 of sim since its one game at a time lmao. Responses
  13. Technically, the wildcard round is not really round 1. Internally I have the wildcard as round 1 / official round 1 as round 2. Sorry for the confusion.

  15. Thump thump, thump thump… Scoish Velociraptor Maloish is standing in the tunnel waiting for the go-ahead to get onto the ice. Maloish is used to playing hockey and all the intros, but this was different… Thump thump thump thump thump… His heart beats faster and faster as the team moves forward toward the ice. The deafening boos instantly get muted for Maloish. All he can hear is his heartbeat. This is it… playoff hockey… sorta. The Calgary Wranglers qualified for the playoffs but had an extra round to get to the main event. Their first task was the play-in round against the Toronto Legion. This was game 1 for Maloish. We actually caught up with Maloish after the morning skate and got his reactions to this special night. Interviewer: How are you feeling about tonight? How does this compare to the VHLM / VHLE playoffs? Maloish: I’m both nervous and excited about it. *chuckle* It’s truly special to be playing playoff hockey at this level. You work hard all year to get to this point. I can’t wait to get on the ice tonight. Honestly, comparing this level to the M or E is just not fair. Yes, they are very competitive, but these are some of the best players in the world in this league. There is no developmental here. It’s all real. I: What are your thoughts on the matchup this series? M: Toronto is a tough opponent. We slipped a bit and got lucky to get this spot in the playoffs. Toronto is going to be here to make a name for themselves. We have to be ready for everything they are going to throw at us. I: Would you say you had a good rookie season? M: Honestly, I’m not sure. If you look at it as a goal scorer I wasn’t that good. If you look at the physical / defending you’d be loving me. There has to be a good balance in the future. I’m going to be working on that hard this summer. As for the playoffs, I’m going to be doing what I do best. I: Do you think you get any first pairing minutes in the future? M: I’m not too worried about that. I’m just playing hockey and if they need me on the 1st pairing, I’d be down for that. I just want to win and be a team player. I: Awesome. Good luck tonight. M: Thanks. It finally set in that he was playing playoff hockey when he sat on the bench and the puck was dropped. The building was the loudest he’s heard. Being the away team is always a challenge, you know the home team will build off the energy of the crowd. That’s why Leandro’s goal at 7:04 of the first period was a huge boost for the Wrangler squad. Listening to the fans quiet down was a morale boost for the team. In Maloish’s first game in the playoffs, he only had 1 shot block. He also had a respectable 27:32 minutes played for his first game. To Maloish it flew by. Fast forward to game 3, the Wranglers are up in the series 2-0 and they return home to hopefully sweep Toronto. Maloish was ready to get on the ice this time. The nerves were gone. He knew the crowd would be loud. There was no drowning out the cheers, he was excited about it. At 10:30 Maloish recorded his first point in a playoff game. An insurance marker to seal the fate of the Toronto Legion. The Wranglers would go on to sweep Toronto 3-0 after a 3-1 victory. “This was a great win for us tonight. Toronto was a great stepping stone to getting used to the playoff atmosphere. Of course, I was nervous in games 1 and 2 on the road. Once we got home I knew we were in good hands. The crowd was deafening and we loved every second of it. We get some rest and scouting before our matchup against DC. Going against the number one seed is no easy task. To be the best, you have to beat the best. That’s what we are going to do.” Maloish and the Wranglers move on to the official round 1 of the playoffs against the DC Dragons. That series starts on Monday in DC. Stay tuned!
  16. Let's go Halifax and Let's go Mexico
  17. Game 1 under the bright lights of the playoffs for these two teams. HC Davos Dynamo trying to make a name for themselves after failing to make playoffs last season and Riga Reign trying to recreate their magic from last season of making it to the conference finals. Fans of the Dynamo will be happy to see their players take the ice at home since Season 81. Puck drop was electric as both Riga and Davos goalies were standing tall in the first period. No goals were scored with Davos leadings the shots 13-12. The intermission must have been a wakeup call for Riga as they came out swinging hard against Davos, scoring the only 5 goals of the game. Darth Kaprizov opens the scoring for Riga at just 33 seconds into the 2nd period. He[Kaprizov] keeps the ball rolling with another goal at 3:54 of the 2nd. Alex Johnston joins the party at 14:01 with Alexandre Leduc and Anze Miklavz not far behind scoring at 18:30 and 19:31 respectively. Shots took a lopsided turn after the 2nd with Riga outshooting Davos 26-4. After the 2nd period, the game was deprived of scoring. Alf Larsson and Vinny Detroit dropped the gloves to get a spark for Davos, but ended up burning out as the Dynamo failed to score on Tobias Reinhart. 3rd period shot totals were 15 for Riga and 7 for the Dynamo. David Davis was not pulled from the game. He stayed in the net and faced an astounding 53 shots but only saved 48 of them. Tobias Reinhart earned the first shutout of the playoffs with a 24 save game. Davos looks to rebound in game 2 in front of their home fans.
  18. With the end of the regular season, Scoish Velociraptor Maloish is preparing for playoffs in the VHL. This is the first time he will be in the VHL playoffs. His season was a rocky one. Let’s do a recap. After being drafted 8th overall to the Calgary Wranglers, Maloish decided he was ready for the big league. He stood out in the training camp and was placed on the opening night roster. Expectations were high for the newest rookie in the league. Maloish would be getting 2nd line ice time on the team and getting power play and penalty kill time. “Watching other people getting called up to be drafted on that night stung me. Press about me after the event saying I wasn't the best pick and that there were better options available. ‘With Maloish as the selection, Calgary took probably the highest ceiling defenseman remaining, but also one who could have the lowest floor. He’s had some hitches in his development in the past, but I’m sure Calgary hopes that their training program would situate Maloish in the VHL grind set again.’ ** When I read that my heart sank. It hurt to see that I was being undervalued and seen as second fiddle to some of the others in the draft. I understand this is a business but it made me motivated to prove them wrong.” - Maloish after training camp Calgary, who is coming off a first-round sweep in the season 83 playoffs, is looking to retool and get revenge in the season 84 season. The expectations for this season were lower with the losses of Shane Lazeski, Bob Beach, James Glove Dropper, Phil The Rock Johnson, and Jurgis Kalvelis Blazevicius. Of course, there were some notable additions to the roster which would help Maloish in his development. Maloish would finish last in points on his team as well as goals. An interesting stat is that his 2 goals were both game-winning goals. Maloish knows that this isn’t good enough for next season though. “I know that being a rookie I had some leeway and lower expectations. I know that next season is different and I’ll be under a very intense microscope from the fans and the management. I will be better.” Maloish and the Wranglers are to battle in the Season 84 playoffs starting with a battle against Toronto to get the chance to battle the DC Dragons in round 1. “This season has been an absolute blast for me. Meeting new people and getting to play in highly competitive games is an honor. To be skating with some of the greatest players in the league was incredible. Now my sight switches from being a rookie in the regular season to a player in the playoffs. No more holding back, this is for all the marbles.” 467 words - **417 not including the quote
