  1. Thank you very much, I'm still new to the league and it took me a while to search for infos. I really wanted to make it interesting and there was teams that I knew nothing of them. But in the end, not only it gives me TPE but I learned good things about many teams.
  2. VHL S75 Power ranking based on TPA We are just a week from the beginning of the season 75, the draft is done and most teams are starting to have their lineup ready to begin this season. It is now time to do our predictions and do our fantasy picks. It is not an easy thing to predict which team will finish at the top of the league and which team will win the cup but it is easier when there is a power ranking to compare these teams and make your choices. This is what this article will be about, every teams will be ranked from 1st to 16h with also their ranking at offense, defense and goal-tending. Please note that this ranking doesn't include the prospects and only focus on the upcoming season. 1st: Helsinki Titans Total TPA: 7,496 OFF: 4,076 (3) DEF: 2,260 (7) G: 1,160 (3) With a presence in the continental cup finals last season, Helsinki seems to be ready for an other huge season, with one of the best offense and one of the best goal-tending duo in the league they are again a solid contender for the cup this season. 2nd: Calgary Wranglers Total TPA: 7,469 OFF: 3,859 (6) DEF: 2,436 (6) G: 1,174 (1) Calgary went all-in for this season by trading all their draft picks to Riga for top players and it paid off. With the best goaltender duo in the league and an impressive first line, Calgary should have an amazing season. 3rd: London United Total TPA: 7,450 OFF: 3,906 (5) DEF: 2,953 (1) G: 591 (11) With the third spot on this list, we have a team that could not only make their very first playoff appearance, but also be one of the contenders for the continental cup. With the best defense in the league, London is set to have success. 4th: Moscow Menace Total TPA: 7,402 OFF: 3,521 (8) DEF: 2,711 (2) G: 1,170 (2) For this season, Moscow seems to have no real weakness, they are looking good on both sides of the ice and they can always trust their starter goalie Raymond Bernard who is surely gonna give the best of himself to win a cup in his last season in the league. 5th: Seattle Bears Total TPA: 7,266 OFF: 4,514 (1) DEF: 2,108 (8) G: 644 (10) Some people like to say that the best defense is a good offense, if this is true, Seattle should be a team to watch closely this season. One thing is sure, they should give us a ton of goals and will possibly be the most entertaining team to watch. Who doesn't like goals? 6th: Prague Phantoms Total TPA: 7,205 OFF: 4,133 (2) DEF: 2,549 (5) G: 523 (13) With the second best offense in the league this season Prague is an other team that is gonna score a lot of goals. As a team that never won a cup yet, the motivation is surely present in the locker room, bringing their fans a cup home for the first time in S75 is something that is very possible. 7th: Malmo Nighthawks Total TPA: 7,017 OFF: 3,757 (7) DEF: 2,500 (4) G: 760 (7) An other team that never won a continental cup. For this season, Malmo will be counting on an a solid defense composed of an aging first duo. They should be one of the teams battling for a playoff spot. 8th: D.C. Dragons Total TPA: 6,810 OFF: 3,284 (10) DEF: 2,556 (3) G: 970 (4) D.C. has maybe not the best total of TPA but their starter goalie and their impressive defense could really give them a spot in the playoffs. With most of their players getting old their plan is most likely to win now. 9th: HC Davos Dynamo Total TPA: 6,500 OFF: 4,004 (4) DEF: 1,702 (12) G: 794 (6) Davos is an other team that should be battling for a playoff spot according to their ranking. Their offense is among the best in the league and should rely on it to succeed. 10th: Vancouver Wolves Total TPA: 6,019 OFF: 3,519 (9) DEF: 1,842 (9) G: 658 (9) Our S74 continental cup champions, the Vancouver Wolves come at the 10th spot on this ranking. With the loss of their top forward in Jeff Downey, Vancouver will start this season with an average young team that will keep getting better. 11th: Warsaw Predators Total TPA: 5,399 OFF: 3,118 (11) DEF: 1,761 (11) G: 520 (14) Warsaw is probably not a playoff team yet but their roster is filled with young talent and their goal for this season is most likely to make sure everyone keep doing progress. 12th: Chicago Phoenix Total TPA: 5,056 OFF: 2,725 (12) DEF: 1,821 (10) G: 510 (15) An other team that is probably be at the bottom of the leader board this year, Chicago will also rely on their young players and watch them doing progress. 13th: Los Angeles Stars Total TPA: 4,930 OFF: 2,645 (13) DEF: 1,605 (13) G: 680 (8) S75 might not be the season that Los Angeles is getting a spot in the playoffs, they might focus on the future of the team more than the coming season 14th: Toronto Legion Total TPA: 4,609 OFF: 2,299 (14) DEF: 1,411 (14) G: 899 (5) Even if Toronto has one of the best goalie this season, their young core seems to be not enough to be a playoff team. Maybe Hextall could carry the team but it won't be easy. 15th: Riga Reign Total TPA: 3,464 OFF: 1,783 (16) DEF: 1,382 (15) G: 299 (16) Riga shocked the VHL during this off season by announcing a rebuild. Considered one of the biggest dynasty in the VHL, seeing Riga at the bottom hasn't happened in a very long time. 16th: New York Americans Total TPA: 3,305 OFF: 1,912 (15) DEF: 831 (16) G: 562 (12) An other team with a young core, New York will need to wait again to clinch a playoff spot. This media spot will be claimed for the week ending on November 22th, 2020 (1019 words)
  3. Dominic Gobeil 6'2'' 205 Lbs LW Houston Bulls (28th ovr) Gobeil Started his VHLM career in Saskatoon in season 74 and got drafted by Houston in the season 75 dispersal draft, most scouts claim that he is a 2-way forward. His stats were not impressive last seasons but rumors say he played with an injury and should be in health for this coming season. Strengths: Defense: Gobeil is a solid player in his own zone, he is getting known to step up his game in penalty killer and should be a key element in his new team on that special unit this year. It is clear that being reliable in his zone is his main focus, that is what he has been practicing the most lately. Passing: It is true that his stats showed us otherwise last season but we noticed a lot of improvements in his playmaking skills and he seems so eager to prove himself as a good playmaker that make him an interesting wild card for the assist leader board this year. Leadership: Gobeil is known for bringing an energy to the locker room and helping his teammates when he can. It is true that he still lack experience but for a young player who is still discovering the league and how things work, he already show signs of leadership. He is not a quiet one and he is getting chemistry with almost any player. Weaknesses: Discipline: Gobeil is known for giving good hits and he likes to do it, but there are times when he go too far and give dangerous hits. It is something that could be a problem in the VHL and he knows he needs to work on that part of his game. Penalty Shot: Gobeil never wanted to practice that part of his game, he always preferred to give the penalty shots to the others and focus on something that can improve him as a player for every games. Maybe he could do great if he would even put the efforts to try but he think its a waste of time and just a show off skill. Scoring: Gobeil is not a sniper, maybe this can change in the future but for now the truth is that he is not the player to score an important goal. Most of the time, he will pass the puck to a teammate who is good at scoring instead of shooting.

  6. 1. well, I'm used to have these temperatures from where I come from. 2 we need to score more goals. We have depth and we need all lines to score 3. I think Scotty Kaberle is being an exemple to us, he is quite active and work a lot to get better every weeks 4. I don't mind him 5. playing NHL 21 of course 6. I don't think we have any real fighter in our team but I wouldn't mess with Secel Keller, that guy is so strong and big.

  9. From Chicoutimi, Quebec, Canada, Gobeil always had a passion for hockey. As a young kid, he used to play with his friends in the streets and always wanted to join a league but unfortunally, his parents were short on money. At the age of 12 years old, Eric Gagnon, coach of the Chicoutimi Stallions found him playing alone in the street and decided to stop to talk to him. ''The Kid was practicing every days, alone, with friends, on sunny days or under the rain. It was everyday! He wasn't showing impressive skills but he was so passionate, I had to give him an oportunity, so I invited him to the camp.'' Eric Gagnon, former coach of the Chicoutimi Stallion On his first day to the camp, Gobeil is first at the arena, his performances on the ice are not the best, most people see a lack of skills but the coach see a player who work harder than all the others. After a few days, when the season was started and the kid was still in trial, coach Gagnon decide to give him a new role. ''He was bigger than the other kids of his age so I asked him to go in the corners, doing the dirty job that most kids was afraid to do and that was impressive, the next day I received a call from my GM that the kid had to stay'' Eric Gagnon, former coach of the Chicoutimi Stallion After that day, coach Gagnon gave him a role on the 4th line, the young boy wanted more but he had to prove himself. After just 6 games the team lost their best 2-way forward, the coach looked at his lineup and noticed a big lack of forwards who can play in penalty killer and decided to try his unknown player on the first wave of penalty killer. After a few games Gobeil started to gain the trust of his coach. '' I will always remember one night against Jonquiere's Timbers, it was an important match for us, Jonquiere always been our biggest rivals, I was in my lodge looking at the game, there was 3 minutes, 34 seconds remaining to the game and we were loosing 3-2. One of our top player got kicked out of the game. Eric [Gagnon] sent Gobeil on the ice as he always used to do in penalty killer, we were all on the edge of our seats looking at the game. We all thought that game was over untill Gobeil sent a perfect zone exit pass to Tremblay who got a breakaway and scored at 0: 24 on the board. We finally won that game in overtime and Gobeil was named 1st star of the game. It took the police to empty the arena, people were fighting in the crowd.'' Alain Turcotte, General Manager of the Chicoutimi Stallions Today, Gobeil is expected to be a solid 2-way forward in the near futur and most scouts noticed a lot of improvement in his passing skills over the years.
  10. 1) At first I wasn't expecting much to be honest but once I joined and signed my first contract I really got impressed by how huge this league is. After a week, I'm still impressed how everything works togheter and how active it is. 2) Not really, so far everything seems just fine 3) I did look a little but not for very long, I'm still exploring the different treads on the forum 4) My aims this season is to learn how to progress well in this league and to help my team going far in the playoffs even if I'm not a top player. If I can help a little, I'm happy to do it. 5) Halifax seems to have a strong team but my heart goes with Saskatoon. 6) My VHML team is helping me a lot, they answer to all my questions and its been a really fun week so far.
  11. 1. I have just arrived in the team and so far I think there is a good chemistry in the locker room, I think we can go far. 2. Again, I just joined the league, I don't know him personally but I wish him good luck for his futur projects. 3. I would move the Moscow team, I think its better to focus on just one continent, its a lot of money to take the plane to go there. 4. I think its a great thing, there is a popular quote in hockey that say, ''Offense fills your arena, Defense make you win the cup'' 5. mhmm, does family guy count? 6. Yes, I just watched Shutter Island and man, this is f***ed up.
