  4. Javad and Bahram Kamkar, also known as The Kamkar Twins have been proving their worth as a solid backbone as Defensemen for the Halifax 21st. But what if I told you, Hockey isn't the only thing they're good at? In addition to Hockey, The Kamkar twins have martial arts experience under their belt. Bahram is a superb kickboxer while his brother, Javad is more of a complete fighter with Boxing, Muay Thai, Wrestling and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in his arsenal, making him a jack of all trades but a master of none. This is one of the main things that makes their opposition afraid of getting in a scuffle with the twins, as they have a lot of fighting experience and take pleasure beating up opposing players if it means striking fear into their hearts. After each VHLM games the twins take part of, first they take a short break and once they're back home, they go to the private gym inside their house. which has workout equipment, heavy bags, mitts and even a boxing ring to spar in. Once they finish their workout, the two get in the ring with protective headgear and swing for the fences with the intention of hurting each other. The spar is usually even skill-wise and can go either way, with either Javad getting dropped or Bahram getting dropped. So far, no one really knows how each sparring session goes. No one else, other than me. Starting next week, I will be recording and commentating what happens when the two spar. I can't guarantee blood splattering and teeth being knocked out, but I can guarantee a fun, intense and entertaining fight between these two gentlemen. Stay Tuned.

  6. Javad Kamkar is an 18 year old Offensive Defenseman from Iran playing for the Halifax 21st. Standing at 6 feet and 5 inches tall and weighting 185 pounds, Kamkar uses his large frame to his advantage, hitting his opponents with vicious body checks and knocking them off balance easily. He is projected to be the 23rd pick in the S76 VHL draft. Javad has 4 years of junior experience under his belt in Iran, and it's worked in his favour. Strengths Defensive IQ: Kamkar's defensive IQ is very good for how young he is. He understands proper defensive positioning and when to block passing lanes and help regain possession for his team. He can seemingly come out of nowhere and steal the puck from the opponent before they even realize that he's taken off with it. Power: Javad is considered underweight for his height, but his strength is surprisingly high, able to bully the opposition away from the puck via hard and vicious body checks and knock them down with relative ease, even those close to his size. This is also to his benefit offensively, as the opposition will have a hard time knocking him away from the puck, some even fall down while trying to check him. He was often referred to as a "Wall made of titanium" because of his sheer strength. Playmaking: Javad's main value is in how versatile he can be, he can defend well and he can also attack well. A major part of his attacking skill comes from his superb playmaking ability, able to set up his teammates for easy goals from long distances with precision. His playmaking only gets better and better as the days go on. Even so, he's been having trouble racking up the assists because of one of his biggest weaknesses. Weaknesses Bad shot selection: Linked to his difficulty of earning assists, Kamkar tends to take bad shots from bad angles instead of passing the puck, resulting in wasted opportunities to score. This is the sole reason his Offensive IQ is lacking compared to his Defensive IQ, he wastes a lot of opportunities on offense with the puck by taking unnecessary shots instead of using his playmaking abilities. Discipline: The downside to Javad's ability to hit hard is his discipline. He will often get penalties for interference due to not being able to stop chasing his man after the puck has been passed away. This leads to the opposition earning too many Power Play opportunities, which is detrimental to the success of his team. Emotions: Kamkar has a record of getting into trouble because of not being able to keep his emotions in check. Often protesting against Referee calls and being provoked easily after successful body checks against him, leading to unneeded fights and penalties. If this isn't fixed until the draft, it's unlikely any team would take the risk of his emotional outbursts for his skill on the ice.
  7. Thank you for the advice. I'm still new to photoshop so I've got a lot to learn and this helps a lot. Hopefully my next attempts will turn out better
  8. Javad Kamkar is an 18 year old Offensive defenseman from Iran who alongside his twin brother, Bahram have recently joined the VHLM by signing with the Halifax 21st. Javad always loved sports and skating since he was young but struggled with sports like football and basketball since he was a slow runner. That was until he was introduced to hockey, where he could enjoy a sport and skating at he same time. It didn't take long for Javad to realise that Skating on concrete is much more different than skating on ice and it lead to difficulty at first, but he didn't give up and spent hours every single day on the ice rink just to perfect his ice skating which came along with bumps, bruises and cuts but eventually it paid off for him. Javad and his brother, Bahram, were signed up to a junior team in the Iranian Hockey League (IRHL) by the name of Esteghlal Tehran as defensemen when they were 14. They had to work hard to earn their spot in the starting line-up in practice but the coach was impressed with them after the two showed incredible synergy on the ice together, and that secured their spot as starters. Right before their first regular season game, the two went through a massive growth spurt, taking them from being 5'5 to 5'10 at that early of an age. With the start of the regular season, the Kamkar twins began their debut against the Karaj Revolvers. Javad was against one of the best forwards in that league, but he didn't let that intimidate him. Javad landed vicious but clean hits time after time whenever the forward handled the puck, which resulted in multiple possessions regained for Esteghlal. The game remained scoreless until the last 22 seconds of the game where Bahram regained possession and went on fast break with Javad to his left. Beautiful One-Two's from the twins resulted in a goal by Javad with 14 seconds left which lead to the winning the game, earning Bahram 2nd star and Javad 1st star. The two would go on to dominate in the league for the next 4 years, Javad had 13 goals, 35 assists, 48 points in total and 144 hits in his debut season. In his 2nd year he went on to earn himself 21 goals, 46 assists, 67 points, 113 points and 168 hits. In the 3rd year he had 30 goals, 69 assists, 99 points and 255 hits. In his 4th and final year in the league he had his best season yet with 44 goals, 86 assists, 130 points and 378 hits. After his final year with the team, he became 18 years old and grew 6 foot and 5 inches tall. Javad's and Bahram's incredible performances caught the attention of the general manager of the VHLM team, Halifax 21st. The twins came to an agreement and signed up for the league, where they now play and display their skill as lethal defensemen. The two are the first ever Iranians to set foot in this league. Time will tell if they will also become the first Iranians to become hall of fame legends, or if they'll fall short. Javad Kamkar
  9. #23, I expected to be lower so this is good motivation
  10. 1. I will keep on working on my defense, to make sure our backline is difficult to push through. 2. I believe we can contend for the cup. 3. Shadowboxing to prepare and warmup just in case a fight happens. 4. I enjoy playing for Halifax because of the excellent coaches and staff. They've helped me a lot and I'm prepared to return the favour. 5. Nothing. I've learned to block out the crowd when there is negativity. I only hear and see what's on the ice. 6. "Lets go Halifax!"
  11. The Kamkar twins, Javad and Bahram Kamkar are the first ever Iranians to set foot in the VHLM, and so far into the season they've shown great potential. Even though they come off of the bench, they are a solid backbone for the Halifax 21st. showing off their incredible synergy on the ice and having the ability to coordinate a plan together on the fly, stopping the opposition from getting close with superb defense and hard, but clean body checking. The twins stand tall at 6 foot and 5 inches and weight 185 pounds. While they're considered underweight for their height, their strength makes up for it as they use their massive frame to bully the opposition away from the puck and regain possession for the team. Both men have participated in 6 games so far and they've done very well in each one. Javad, has shown that he is not one dimensional and can do more than just defence, displaying excellent playmaking skills and powerful shooting, already earning himself 5 assists and even 1 goal, which earned him his first 3rd star. Bahram, while not as versatile on attack as his brother, so far has shown to be the better defender out of the two, blocking 8 crucial shots from the enemy and landing 10 vicious hits on the opposition this early on. These two have showcased their potential and are off to a great start. How big of a part will these two play for the Halifax 21st?
  12. 1. The atmosphere has been awesome. I look forward to getting along with everyone. 2. Just have a nice dinner with everyone, hang out and enjoy ourselves. 3. I think I'd have a good shot at getting defensive player of the year. 4. Don't fall on your face, stay on your skates. 5. Chanting their name when they're out on the ice and I'm on the bench, giving pep talks and keeping them motivated. 6. My brother, Bahram I would say. He may not seem like much at first but I can assure you he'll be a force to be reckoned with in due time.
  13. 1. I think the team got the best result they could've in the draft. High hopes for the future. 3. Working day in and day out on my defending and body checking, a little bit of fighting as well if I need to have a teammates back. 4. As much as I would love to go on a holiday celebration, there's no time for me to do so. I have to work hard and improve my skills. 5. I love snow and the cold in general. You can expect to see me outside making snow angels or even snowmen. I loved doing that when I was young. 6. My competition would be about who can intercept the most pucks to disrupt the enemies offense. I think my odds of winning that are high. 7. Making my defense better is top priority, as that is my main duty on the ice. Everything else comes second.
  14. I accept! Looking forward to doing business.
