  1. We are one-eighth of the way through the VHLM 75th regular season, and the Yukon Rush are proving that last season wasn't just a fluke and that they are for real.

After struggling in the S72 and S73 season and ending up near the bottom of the standings in both seasons, the Rush came back strong in the S74 season finishing 3rd in the regular season and falling in the semi-finals. Although you never want to get a you-tried ribbon and always want to go for the cup, being able to bounce back in such a way bodes well for the Rush's future, and that is on full showcase with S75 so far.

You never want to bet too early, however the Rush is currently in 4th place in VHLM thus far this season with a game in hand above the current 3rd place Kings. With this and being in 3rd place for Goals For and 4th place in Goals Against, it's looking like the team is playing on all cylinders and living up to the potential that GM MexicanCow could only hope for.

It's only a matter of time, and with strong effort from the team, to push and Rush for the cup.

"Interesting, it's exactly how I remembered."
The first thoughts that come to mind when Kristof Welch hops off the plane back to a familiar sight: His hometown.

Albeit being of Hungarian descent, there's nowhere quite like home like Whitehorse, Yukon where he grew up camping and attending many of bush parties. But like many people from small towns (although people from Whitehorse will always correct you that it's a city), the thoughts of grandeur always was on Kristof's mind. What goals and aspirations can you achieve if you're stuck in a town where the most exciting part of the year is when the local hunters bring back moose meat to make into jerky?

So Kristof did what anyone would do if they had the time and money, he traveled. From country to country and continent and continent, he went as far as he could and as much as his eyes would let him take in. And up until a few years ago, his eyes would always want more. That was until he found himself back in his birth country of Hungary. There, he felt a sense of pride of where he came from. From the culture, the history, the cuisine, the ladies, the beautiful countryside, and the beautiful main city of Budapest. One stop in the capital, and he cancelled all his future tickets. This was his new home, and he would find himself with a new found sense of relief to not be hopping from hostel to hostel during his travels, but to finally have his own bed and his own sheets to crawl into after a long day at the pub.

Now you may ask yourself, why do we find ourselves with Kristof going back to Whitehorse? That dead end, insignificant winter hellscape that he tried so hard to escape?

One reason and one alone, his passion for hockey. If there was one thing to get through the 20 hours of darkness during the winter, it was hitting up the local rinks for some pick up hockey with his usual pals and every now and again someone new. Although he never played professionally in any sense, he played like someone who's studied the game in and out for years and years. He wasn't (and still isn't) the biggest defender on the ice, but he played with speed and finesse, and will always be the guy you can count on to make a breakout pass up the ice from your own zone.

So even being happier than he ever could be in Hungary, there was always a piece missing. If there's one thing Hungary is known for, it definitely is not hockey. And if there's one thing that would drive someone mad, it's not being able to keep up with your passion. So when Kristof got the call that a team actually moved to the Yukon and personally reached out to him to play, even if it was for only one period, one game, or one season, he knew he had to tie up the laces once again.

  3. I actually really like the effect and design of this, I'm a sucker for blue graphics. Only thing I'd suggest is making the name a bit more visible as the end of "Kaberle" gets kind of lost with the bubbles. Overall though a solid 7.5/10.

  4. I love the hazy look of the effect you used! The colour reminds me sunset-esque colour scheme which is easily one of my favourite colour palettes. That and the logo was added in very smoothly! Only critique I'd have is on the name font, as it the "O"s almost like like "A"s to me personally. Overall an easy 8/10 :)

    Answer 6 for 2 TPE; 3 for 1 TPE:

    1. Offseason is finally coming to an end what did you end up doing?

Shoes off, feet up, watching highlights of the Rush to see what I'm about to be apart of.

And baking, your boy makes a mad cheesecake.

    2. What skills did you work on in the Offseason?

You gotta go fast, definitely if you're apart of the Rush, so skating is my go to for training.

    3. What do you love about living in Yukon?

Burnt Toast Cafe on the 2nd Av makes some delicious breakfast, so that's my go to.

    4. Does pineapple belong on pizza?

    Sure, if you're a heathen. ❌

    5. Which addition are you most excited to join the team?

I'm brand new, so I don't know any of my teammates yet. Is it cheating to say everyone?

    6. What was the most crazy trade that's happened so far?

Haha yeah, when that really good guy got traded for that other really good guy that was crazy...yeah I have no idea about any trades yet.
