I’ve never had a goalie, and you being the one person who should 100% win the Scotty Campbell and Aidan Shaw this season… I’ll take your advice and input on this one. In my eyes I just saw the big difference in Wins and the record breaking shutouts and that’s what I was arguing

Can’t change the vote, can only strongly voice my opinion. Taking a page out of @Grape’s book
-
This I can agree on I won’t deny that

@Pifferfish

I know you don’t, don’t worry brother!! 20 less wins dude! SV% and GAA are almost all identical
-
4th and 7th all time single season shutout recording goaltenders lose to a goalie with 18 OTL that’s a joke

WHAT

BEARZ look mid compared to the top teams imo I’m sorry brother. Although obviously you would know that a wildcard team can win the cup… wouldn’t be mad about seeing y’all repeat like the glory days around S68-S73

As an EU rival that title kind of hurt to type out, but looking at Moscow's roster makes me have some good hope for them. Starting with their sophomore goaltender Deadpanda who just recently had a rookie of the season campaign, Alex's players have a history of being elite and this one is no difference. Moscow has a good roster playing in front of Deadpanda and I really don't see this goalie needing to be the hero of the team, but instead as a last resort for winning games, and he'll show up when needed I feel. Moscow's defense has an uncomfy number of just 3 rostered meaning a bot will be needed in lines. But, their top defender being Jacob's Jillian Woods at 1200+ TPA could easily go off just like their 104 point season in S96. Backing up Woods is sophomore River Harrington who has potential of a breakout season. With the minutes they will be playing, and the TPE earning pace they are on, Harrington could potentially hit 950-1000 TPA by playoffs and I wouldn't be surprised. These two will be a two headed monster on the blueline for Moscow this season and I'm guessing one of them will score a shit ton of PPGs, seems there's always one defender who gets a lot imo. The main reason I have high hopes for Moscow is their forward core. Similar to Malmo last season, they have three elite/franchise forwards entering their last season before retirement. These forwards are not nobody's either. D -> C Obuz decided to switch it up for the shits and giggles and in my eyes will have a monster season even if playing on the 2nd line. He's won all the defensive awards so why not try for the forward ones, I love it. Their other top center Ruutu's player has had a history of 100+ point seasons and I don't see them dropping below that mark this season. Moscow's last S90 Catia Goncalves may only have 600 TPA, but they should be due for more than the 60 points they put up last season. Spartan's rookie has all the support he needs to put up points, and sam's player is an insanely good 2nd line LW behind the last but not least, S94 Maverick Goncalves, who needs no explanation... 1300+ TPA, they will be the stud of scoring, especially while playing beside either one of the 1100+ TPA centers. I've always had a hunch that players in their last season turn beast mode and put up career highs before kicking the bucket. So it will be interesting to see just how well this team does. Maybe they win the Victory Cup and pull a Malmo, who knows.

Malmo Nighthawks Team Press Conference
AJW replied to KaleebtheMighty's topic in Team Press Conferences
PRESS CONFERENCE Answer 6 Questions for 2 TPE, or Answer 3 Questions for 1 TPE Week Ending Mar 09 1. The S98 VHL Draft is complete! Please welcome our 1st overall pick, Cardinal Copia @Beketov, and our 12th overall pick, Bazooka Joe @ScottyP! What is some advice you can give to a brand new rookie joining the team? Is there anything you'd do for our rookies?... Take them on an arena tour? Take them out for lunch? 2. We had A LOT of moves this off-season to basically create a fresh new team. What do you believe are some next steps for Malmo in order to be back in the winning conversation? 3. Are you a fan of being part of a rebuild? Would you rather stick through it with an underdeveloped team or would you rather be traded to a contending team? 4. A new season is just around the corner! What has your player been doing throughout the off-season? Training? Relaxing? Vacationing? 5. With so many players on our team ready to start their VHL career and truly make a name for themselves, who do you think will come out their shell next season? (Team MVP? Someone who will produce more than expected?) 6. What do you think the best way to train at hockey is? Some people believe playing actual games is the best, some believe shooting 1000 pucks a day is the best. What is your best training method? 7. What type of music does your player/you listen to? Recently I've been listening to a lot more pop music than normal. 8. What is your favourite colour? I'm definitely a lover of green. 9. How have the first two months of 2025 treated you? Anything exciting happen? 10. How's the weather where you are? I'm itching for Spring to finally come. -
Idk if people are still reading this but I reached out to @Beketov and he gave me a great response as to why YouTube ads are WAY more expensive than what I thought they were

One year ago I was a year younger than I am now, let that sink in. One year ago I was actually still GMing the Houston Bulls in the VHLM. The season was S92, I just got back into GMing in the VHLM after two seasons away. I will never take the credit for the season my team had, I won the GM award in S92 but seriously that wasn’t all because of me. What actually happened was a massive swarm of active players who joined my team, one being @LucyXpher who I am now proud to work with in Malmo. That season really was something special with all the conversations we had in Houston’s locker room, all the people who were actively part of everything and anything… I even had many other members, including some VHL GMs, requesting for access to join Houston’s private locker room just so they could see all the madness that was going on. The point I’m getting at is that I have never felt the same feeling of S92 since then. The VHL S93 draft class was loaded with talent and I clearly remember the stream announcers saying that Houston was the team to draft from. Why are we not giving the same opportunity to current teams? Why has every VHL draft after the top 10 been “shit” and why has every 3rd or 4th round pick been seen as a joke to the VHL? I understand that we just had a donation drive which more than likely took away most of the league’s funds back in December, but why has it been A WHOLE YEAR since a draft class has been so promising as the S93 draft class was?! I love this league, don’t get me wrong, but I don’t see any true growth in the past seasons. I see the same faces everyday and when a new one with true potential walks in it’s pretty rare to me. I joined the SHL again recently and their league is thriving with new members… every, single, draft. Their upcoming draft is absolutely loaded with talent, my current SHL GM has a full spreadsheet of the first three rounds having promising prospects. I am a true believer in that YouTube is the way, I also know that you can’t have a YouTube recruitment drive every season or else the numbers get skewed, and it’s also pricey. Why has it been so many seasons since we have done a recruitment drive revolved around YouTube? Why is it that @Banackock works his tail off just to keep recruitment alive? I’ve seen many posts of him almost begging for help for a 6 TPE job!! Why is there no true effort from the big names above to run a fully functioning recruitment team? I don’t have any answers and I don’t know what’s going on behind the scenes, maybe I’m completely wrong about this! What I hope is to see this league keep on growing, but right now it doesn’t look that way to me.

Malmo Nighthawks Team Press Conference
AJW replied to KaleebtheMighty's topic in Team Press Conferences
PRESS CONFERENCE Answer 6 Questions for 2 TPE, or Answer 3 Questions for 1 TPE Week Ending Mar 02 1. There have been so many new faces joining the team this off-season, we almost have a completely new roster! If you are new to the team, how do you feel about now playing for Malmo? If you are not new to the team, how do you feel about all of the trades made to have this new roster? 2. Being traded to a new team can bring a lot of new things into your life... new arena, new teammates, new coaches... What does your player do to get to know everyone on the team better? Do they stay late after practice to chat with other players still on the ice? Do they invite some teammates out for a drink/dinner? 3. Malmo currently holds the 1st overall pick in this upcoming draft, who do you think we should take? (Click me, then click Player List tab) 4. What are your predictions for Malmo's standings placement this season? (There are 16 teams in the VHL, 8 in the European/Northern Conference) 5. Malmo won the Victory Cup last season as we had the best Regular Season record. Do you think it is easier to win a Victory Cup? Or is it easier to win a Continental Cup (Playoff Champions)? 6. What is your most/least favourite thing about the VHL? 7. What is your favourite thing about the sport of hockey? 8. What is one interesting fact about yourself/player? 9. If I could fly you anywhere in the world right now, where would you go and what would you do there? 10. $1000 cash gets dropped into your wallet, you have 1 hour to spend it all, what are you purchasing? -
Review: A graphic of the biggest beauty there has ever been between the pipes automatically gets a 10/10. The gif trend you’ve been doing behind each team’s logo is the coolest addition and I feel like it’s the first time I’ve seen that style myself. Love your ability to photoshop too, heard you were self taught so I guess anything is possible for me Love this, once again 10/10

Houston Bulls legend

Words you may not hear from very many, but I love being an AGM. In my specific case, I am a former VHLM GM for the Houston Bulls who served 9 non-consecutive seasons in office. I won two GM of the season awards, I helped guide many players to develop into the VHL, but at the end of the day nothing beats AGMing for the Malmo Nighthawks. I have applied for VHL GM jobs in the past (I honestly can only remember the one time for Riga but there may have been another) only for another more worthy candidate to be hired. It sucks not getting what you want, but it also may be a sign leading you to what you need. GMing is a lot of stress, hard work, consistency, people work, communicating, etc.etc.etc... if you're a good GM atleast. When I GM'd in Houston I always tried to be the best GM I could be. I would go out of my way for any of my players just so that they wouldn't have to suffer through the confusion of any new player struggles. I feel like I was given respect and my players were grateful for my efforts... now?... I GET TO BE THE SIDEKICK!!! Being the sidekick is way better than I could have ever imagined. I AGM'd Warsaw in S79 beside dlamb with full ambition of becoming a VHLM GM, I never saw the beauty in VHL AGMing until now. While @LucyXpher does all the negotiations, the player retention, the research, the planning.. what am I to do?... sit back and give my opinion like a backseat driver. ITS AWESOME! I do my weekly press conference for the players and then after that it's a job well done. I pop into the locker room here and there, I help players occasionally when I am around, and I am the second voice for Lucy to help build the Nighthawks. When I was GM it was 1000x more stressful than it is now, but now in Malmo I get to "manage a team" while also not carrying all the stress it may bring. This league shouldn't be stressful, it's a hobby. I'm so much happier doing my favourite hobby now that I can AGM behind the brilliant Lucy. I don't need trophies or medals when we win if we do, I'm just happy to be a helpful part of an organization while also not having the responsibilities for it all. Maybe I'm in the honeymoon stage of myself and Lucy building this team together, but maybe this feeling can last a long time who knows? Either way I'm extremely happy where I am right now and I don't see myself needing any other league job besides the one I have now! #norights #luv4norights
