  1. PRESS CONFERENCE Answer 6 Questions for 2 TPE, or Answer 3 Questions for 1 TPE Week Ending Feb 23 1. The Seattle Bears have won the S97 Continental Cup. What are your thoughts on this? They were a wildcard team, who defeated another wildcard team, Riga, 4-1. 2. With the S97 VHL finals completing, we are officially in the off-season... What changes would you like to see in Malmo before the start of S98? 3. Is there anything your player usually does in the off-season to pass the time by? Continue training? Visiting family? Vacationing? 4. What is a goal you would like to set for your player next season? Score more goals? Make more hits? 5. If Malmo were to acquire a draft pick in this upcoming draft, what player would you love to join the team? Which position (F, D, G) would you want added to the roster? (draft list here) 6. Winter is slowly but surely coming to and end, are you excited for the warmer weather to come? 7. Already in the second month of the year, have you broken any New Years Resolutions? Are you still going strong? 8. If your player could have played any other sport professionally besides hockey, which sport would they play? What position in that sport would they be? (For basketball, would they be a Point Guard? Center? etc.) 9. Which attribute(s) are you looking to upgrade next on your player? 10. In the off-season Malmo management has decided to give all players two weeks off to do whatever they want plus an additional $50,000 bonus for winning the Victory Cup... what will your player do and what will they spend the money on? Maybe they'll stay home, relax, and save? Maybe they'll go travel somewhere?
  2. RICKY @DarkSpyro
  3. I LOVE IT! The glasses under the visor is top tier lol
  4. This 21st roster is legit. So many returning players is the dream of the VHLM in my eyes and I’m so happy that the minor league is where it’s at now, honestly jealous I never got to GM during the 400 TPE cap. Kudos to @rory and @LucyXpher the masterminds of making this beast of a team . Best of luck with the rest of the series Halifax
  5. @Banackock is a well known member across the VHL explicitly for his long term GMing career behind the Seattle Bears, also most recently through the great work he has done to keep the Recruitment Team alive. It is not an easy task to run as Recruitment Head, it is a lot of behind the scenes work that mostly goes unnoticed, although Bana has a tougher battle just ahead of himself. Bana has put in his fair share of time to make this league a better place, and right now, in current times, might be the story book ending to the vastly successful career he has been longing to read. The S97 Continental Cup playoffs are more than underway as we are now soon to approach the final round which will more than likely feature Bana’s Seattle Bears of the North American Conference, as well as the Riga Reign of the European Conference… the team which Bana’s player currently resides. Each team is currently winning their respected series 3-1, and unless a 3 game winning streak is achieved by an opposing team, these finals should be set in stone. The forward duo of Riga’s Severus Targaryen and Axle Gunner @Steve may be considered one of the VHL’s best playoff pairing in history so far. Throughout three rounds of play (wildcard + 1st and 2nd round) the duo has managed to put up a combined 66 points in only 14 games played. Both teams have battled in these playoffs since as early as the wildcard rounds in order to reach this plateau and will not be backing down without a fight. While Riga seems to have solid firepower up front, Seattle is backed by a Seattle legend in @Hogan’s player The Phantom of the VHL, as well as 5th season star goaltender Giorgiy Costanzov @Mongoose87. At the end of the day, Bana’s GMing run will not last forever. He has totalled over 8 years of GM experience with the Seattle Bears and will more than likely seek retirement sooner than later. The question is, if Bana’s Seattle Bears are to win the Continental Cup, will this be his last hurrah? Or, if his own blood ran through Targaryen’s veins is to defeat the legacy he has built, will we see another season of the everlasting GM behind the Bears’ organization?
  6. PRESS CONFERENCE Answer 3 Questions for 1 TPE, or Answer 6 Questions for 2 TPE Week Ending Feb 16 1. There is no easy way to say it, but Malmo has been eliminated from the S97 playoffs. What are your thoughts on our 4-3 first round series loss to Riga? 2. It seems as of recent history that Malmo is allergic to winning a first round series in the playoffs... do you think the team has a curse? How come we haven't been able to find any deep playoff success? 3. Between Riga and Moscow in the European Conference, who do you think will advance to the Continental Cup Finals? 4. Between Seattle and Toronto in the North American Conference, who do you think will advance to the Continental Cup Finals? 5. Which of the four remaining teams do you predict to win the Continental Cup? 6. What are your plans for next season? 7. Malmo has three forwards retiring after this season finishes up, what do you think the best plan of attack may be for our team moving forward? 8. Is there any player from a different team that you would love to play with on Malmo? 9. Winter seems to be hitting its downfall where I am and with that brings the new season of spring... Which of the four seasons is your favourite? 10. I've been drinking coca-colas recently much more than I should be... do your have a favourite pop/soda? Also, do you call it pop, soda, or something else?
  7. Marlins eliminated soooo…. LETS GO BULLS
  8. @DarkSpyro Ricky needs one too, get a request in
  9. ITS SO BEAUTIFUL! Thank you brother
  10. Toronto thinks they’re soooooo cool winning in 6 eh
  11. GGs Sask, @Baby Boomer you’re a god
  12. True! Forgot how the bracket worked there
  13. Bubbles LaFleur and the San Diego Marlin currently hold a 2-0 series lead over the Saskatoon Wild in the 1st round of the VHLM playoffs. San Diego was granted 2nd seed after finishing 3rd in the VHLM standings, but 1st in the Western Conference, 1 win ahead of the Houston Bulls. If San Diego is to beat Saskatoon this series they will more than likely faceoff against the S97 Prime Minister Cup winning Halifax 21st which will be a tough battle. San Diego did have a winning record this season against the 21st (4-3 with one win decided by shootout) but the team will heavily rely on on their defensive power backed by goaltender Ricky LaFleur @DarkSpyro heading into that series. The Marlins have been buzzing all season and hopes for a deep playoff run are high, but Bubbles does have the future on his mind. Bubbles LaFleur was drafted prior to this season by the Los Angeles Stars, 6th overall, alongside his brother Ricky LaFleur. While Los Angeles has struggled in the recent past to produce a solid team, Bubbles is determined to continue developing in order to be a face that the Stars can rely on each and every game. The Stars hold rights to S94 Wally Lose @youloser1337 as well as S95 Roger Eagles @Greg_Di, which can be seen as the majority of Los Angeles' "core". Although, after the S97 draft, there is far more potential to come within their prospect pool. Bubbles LaFleur and defending partner Mikko Tuomala @flyersfan345 will be moving up next season to join the roster. At this current point in time the two defenders should easily lock into the first defensive pairing and play an extensive amount of minutes throughout their young careers. Goaltender Ricky LaFleur will also be moving up to fill the backup role next season, then after that, a few seasons later will see many other S97 prospects joining the roster. Defender Victory Hockey League @TheHockey_pro, left winger Hater Tottingham @Trunkxolotl, right winger Jacob Seed @oilmandan and defender Ron World Peace @stevo should hopefully all be able to move up following S98 with the rate they are earning. Left winger Old Man On Skates @Jason 2.0 is not too far behind, but may need more than one season of development compared to the rest of these prospects. Either way, Los Angeles will have to struggle through a few more seasons of rebuild before reaching a prime era. But the future is bright though, and with a projected S100 draft class to be heavily equipped with talented recruits, Los Angeles may be able to draft a few more studs in the near future.
  14. PRESS CONFERENCE Answer 3 Questions for 1 TPE, or Answer 6 Questions for 2 TPE Week Ending Feb 9 1. It's easy to get lost in your own conference throughout playoffs as these are the teams you will have to play until the Continental Cup Finals... which team from the Northern American Conference do you predict will make it the finals? (Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto, Seattle, New York) 2. Does your player have a different pre-game routine while playoffs are going on compared to the regular season? 3. Which player on our roster do you predict will produce the most these playoffs? 4. Which sport do you tend to watch the most during playoffs? (NHL, NBA, NFL, etc.) I 100% watch NFL the most now since it's a one game knock out and the build up to it is massive. 5. After a long season of hard grinding the Malmo Nighthawks have won the Victory Cup (best regular season record)! What does this trophy mean to you? Is it a quick memory of the past and you are more focused on the Continental Cup now? 6. If you could win any VHL award, which one would you like to win? 7. The weather is getting better around my area, days are getting warmer already heading into February... how's the weather where you are? 8. When you order a pizza what do you order? I always go for a meat lovers or a classic pepperoni. 9. If you could buy something as a pleasure gift (new car, a boat, figurines) what would you buy? You don't have a budget, go crazy! 10. The NFL Superbowl is this weekend! Are you routing for the Chiefs or Eagles? If you don't care about the game, will you still watch? Maybe you are more focused on Taylor Swift or the halftime show?
  15. Wanted you and Spartan to see how big of bullies you’ve been
  16. I’ve always hated school and never put in the effort so I deserved it lol. I did a victory lap and bumped that mark to an 80 though
  17. Got a 48 in grade 12 English that was the nicest thing you could’ve said to me
  18. @slothfacekilla if you got the time to make one for me here's my player: https://vhlportal.com/players/playerfocus/7419 Would love a bubbles render if you're able
  19. I just saw @Thunder 's article I promise I was thinking of writing a similar article before seeing yours please don't copy right me Malmo Nighthawks in S97 S97 was a season to remember for the Malmo Nighthawks. After making two massive trades in the pre-season to acquire defender Lucy Leitner @LucyXpher, as well as four prospects (Narnia Shaw @Dabnad, Bret Weier @Quanack, Ty Duke @TheDuke, and Xhekajs middletoe @Xhekajsleftankle), the Malmo Nighthawks were able to accomplish the best regular season record with 116 points to take home the S97 Victory Cup. Malmo has won two Victory Cups prior in the S90's (S92, S93) making this the franchise's 3rd in 6 seasons. An impressive accomplishment but one that many know does not equal a Continental Cup. The Nighthawks are determined to make a solid run these playoffs and will rely on many key players who have led the team throughout the entire regular season. Goaltender Jorgen Lovstrom @Pifferfish can easily be seen as the team's MVP this season. With 50 wins, 0.934 SV%, 1.99 GAA, and 9 shutouts, Lovstrom led all goaltenders in the VHL in all four categories. Lovstrom is in his 3rd season with the Nighthawks and has smashed all his season highs in S97. The Nighthawks finished S97 with an impressive 146 Goals Against (2.02 per game) and a massive credit for that goes to Lovstrom. Forwards Viktor Jensen @Advantage, Savaisk Tzesar @comrade cat, and Ronald Johnson MacWallace III @RJMW will be counted on to produce most of Malmo's offense these playoffs. The three S89 veterans will be entering retirement after these playoffs, and after playing full careers with the Nighthawks I can most definitely bet that these three are itching for a Continental Cup. The furthest Malmo has gone in a playoff run with these three is the 1st round, so while playoff experience isn't fully there, hunger and determination are. Forward Philip Rave @tcookie, who may have seemed "quiet" this season, has a huge chip on his shoulder. After spending the last 6 seasons with Malmo (since the S92 Victory Cup) Rave has not yet seen any playoff success either. With 86 points in S97, 22 less than his S96 campaign (108), Rave will be hungry these playoffs wanting to contribute more for the team. Lastly, newly acquired defender Lucy Leitner @LucyXpher will need to play a big role on the blueline for Malmo. Leitner set a season high of 92 points while also being Malmo's 2nd highest point producer in the regular season. Leitner won a Continental Cup with the Riga Reign in S95 which brings some great playoff experience to the team, and also a great story for her to tell if Malmo is to be matched against the Reign following the wildcard round. Potential Playoff Troubles @Spartan @Lemorse7 There are two teams in the European Conference who will pose a huge threat to the Malmo Nighthawks. The 4th seeded Riga Reign, and the 2nd seeded Moscow Menace. Through the S97 regular season the Nighthawks did hold winning records against both teams (Riga 4-1, Moscow 3-2), but recent history may speak different volumes. Since Malmo's S92 Victory Cup, Riga and Moscow have knocked Malmo out of the playoffs a combined four out of five times. S92 1st Round exit (London 4-0) S93 1st Round exit (Moscow 4-1) S94 1st round exit (Riga 4-1) S95 1st Round exit (Riga 4-0) S96 1st Round exit (Moscow 4-1) At least one of these two teams can be guaranteed to face off against Malmo in these playoffs. The 4th seeded Riga Reign currently have a 2-0 lead over the Prague Phantoms in the best of 5 European Wildcard Round. If they are to finish off Prague, the next series will be Riga vs Malmo. If Malmo is able to defeat the Reign and end their 1st round curse, Malmo should more than likely faceoff against the 2nd seeded Moscow Menace in the European Conference Finals. Moscow will first play the HC Davos Dynamo after this wildcard round, and in S97 Moscow was able to defeat Davos 5 times to 0. Malmo has some work cut out for them, and if history is looking to repeat itself then this hardworking S97 Nighthawks team will surely be disappointed. The Future The future is looking brighter than most would have expected for the Malmo Nighthawks. After selling away all future draft picks in order to complete the two trades made in the pre-season, our players have been hard at work! (D) Narnia Shaw @Dabnad and (LW) Bret Weier @Quanack were called up this season with both players being able to surpass the 400 TPE mark (Shaw - 521 TPE, Weier - 443 TPE). We are extremely proud of their production not only in TPE earning but rookie point production as well! Weier managed a 22 point rookie season campaign and Shaw managed a 52 point rookie season campaign, tying for 4th in all rookie scoring. Our other two prospects of the trade stayed down this season to work on their development. (C) Ty Duke @TheDuke is approaching the 400 TPE cap while currently sitting at 380 TPE, and (RW) Xhekajs middletoe @Xhekajsleftankle has been working his butt off to currently sit at 349 TPE! At this rate we will be able to call both up next season to fill the missing holes of the three retiring forwards, which is such an amazing thing. We are extremely proud of the work ethic of our new players!
  20. This is beautiful
  21. PRESS CONFERENCE Answer 3 Questions for 1 TPE, or Answer 6 Questions for 2 TPE Week Ending Feb 2 1. Malmo is currently 1st in the league heading into the final week of regular season games! Do you think we have enough in the tank to win the Victory Cup? (Best Regular Season record). 2. As playoffs quickly approach, how do you predict this season's playoff run will go for us? Will we make it to the finals? 1st round exit? 3. What is one team you don't want to play these playoffs? 4. Do you have any goals for your player heading into these playoffs? Is your main goal just to win the cup? 5. How did your player's S97 regular season turn out? Anything you wish your player could've done more of? 6. Who was our team MVP this season? 7. What is your favourite thing to do on the weekend? 8. January is almost over and I feel like it went by pretty fast, how was the first month of 2025 for you? 9. What upcoming event are you excited for? I'm really looking forward to the NFL Super Bowl next weekend. 10. What are your thoughts on Lucy and I's first season of Malmo management? Anything we could have done differently?
  22. Happy theme week everyone and happy day off of work to me. It’s 2pm in the afternoon and I am already right in the f**kin slot. Sober enough to know what I’m doing and drunk enough to really enjoy doing it. Almost time for another drinkypoo I’m getting low. It’s really time though for me to make some hypothetical trades in the VHL while I have a great buzzaroonie. TRADE 1 To Warsaw: S98 LAS 1st (most likely a top 3 pick) To Prague: Every player on Warsaw’s roster Both these teams suck this season let’s be real, but Warsaw more than Prague. While Prague is looking to finally come out of its hole and also hold this great pick, why not grab a bunch of players instead to fill up the roster and finally put a 6-4-1 on the ice. On the other hand, Warsaw will be without a 6 skater roster which is against the rules. F**k the rules. When you’re at the bottom you can’t go much deeper right? They’ve got four 1st rounders this draft and adding the LAS 1st will give them five… I’m sure if a penalty of losing a pick is thrown at them for having an empty roster they’ll be fine. TRADE 2 To Calgary: Toronto’s entire Defense and goaltending To Toronto: Calgary’s entire Defense and goaltending I just don’t like how MID Toronto’s Defense looks with most defenders in the 700 TPA range. Make a little swaparoo, why not? Both TPA totals are pretty close. Toronto could use some variety to shake things up, it isn’t very appealing to the viewer’s eyes. Calgary can’t lose here, Toronto should take some notes from Calgary they are higher in the standings. TRADE 3 To Seattle: A 6 pack and a “Congratulations on a well done career” To Retirement: GM @Banackock Dude’s been there way too long. Hedge and Bana had a long going GM battle, when Hedge finally kicked the bucket Bana said “lemme really make this record untouchable”. He’s the most winningest GM, he’s done this GMing thing for like 8 years now, how many more cups are needed to get this man out of office. Maybe the value on the trade is a little low and Retirement should throw in a couple j birdies Seattle’s way, but at the end of the day old man Bana needs his pension cheques coming in soon. TRADE 4 To Helsinki: B-MAL G1 To Malmo: S99 MAL 1st Let’s be honest here Helsinki has a goaltending problem. User Tuchy has the lowest TPA of any starting goaltender in the VHL. Helsinki does have Drew Mac as a prospect waiting to come up next season, but that is too long to wait if Helsinki wants to make the playoffs this season. Instead making this trade to give Malmo their 1st back is not only a gentleman’s act, but the right thing to do. B-MAL G1 has 8 games played, 7 wins, a 0.919 SV% and a 2.13 GAA. Helsinki’s goalie?… 50 games played, 11 wins, 0.915 SV%, and a 3.62 GAA. Not to point any fingers, but Helsinki might have a problem in the crease that needs fixing. Alright well I think that’s 500 words. My tin can sounds hollow, time for another.
  23. PRESS CONFERENCE Answer 3 Questions for 1 TPE, or Answer 6 Questions for 2 TPE Week Ending Jan 26 1. This week is theme week! With the submission of a themed Point Task you are able to earn an extra 6 Uncapped TPE... Media, Graphic, Podcast... Do you plan to do a Point Task? What are you planning on making? 2. This week also brings us to this season's Trade Deadline, after Thursday each team won't be able to make any more trades. Do you think Malmo needs to make any trades? Does our roster seem set and ready for playoffs? 3. Trade deadlines are sometimes scary/exciting for players with the thoughts of potentially being shipped away to a new team, new environment, new people. What does your player feel about the possibility of being traded? Are they okay with going somewhere else? Is Malmo the only organization you'd play for? 4. Malmo is still hot halfway through the season! Do you think we have enough fuel in the tank to finish 1st in the league? 5. What has been your favourite part of S97 so far? 6. Sometimes players are just waiting for the season to end and playoffs to start. Are you the type of player who loves playing all 72 regular season games or are you someone who is counting down the days until playoffs? 7. The Malmo Nighthawks are known for our bright green colours as you can see on our logo, we are the only "green" team in the VHL. Do you like our colours/logo? Would you change anything if you could? 8. What colour of tape do you use for your stick? I've always done white tape on the blade and the butt end, have never taped the shaft before, Phil Kessel never influenced me enough. 9. I'm getting tired of winter, I'm not sure if you are too... I would love to book a trip somewhere hot by a beach/ocean. What are some hot destinations you would recommended me to visit? 10. If you could make one animal/insect/fish... etc, go extinct, which one are you choosing? I'm getting rid of those damn mosquitos.
