Since I have been covering VSN writing for the VHLM this season, I have been able to keep up with the teams even though my player is not in the M. It is really fun to be up to date with both leagues and one team recently has caught my eye, the Minnesota Storm. All season long through my power rankings Minnesota has been stuck at 3rd behind Ottawa and Yukon but I believe that could change very soon. Don't get me wrong, Ottawa and Yukon are both very strong teams but I believe @Laine has made some really good moves over the past two weeks and built his squad to be scary good. First of all, before getting to the players, this is how Minnesota matches up against all teams in the VHLM: Halifax Houston Las Vegas Mexico City Miami Minnesota Mississauga Ottawa Philadelphia San Diego Saskatoon Yukon Minnesota 6 - 0 - 1 3 - 0 - 0 3 - 1 - 1 2 - 2 - 0 4 - 0 - 0 4 - 0 - 0 2 - 3 - 1 4 - 2 - 1 2 - 0 - 0 4 - 0 - 0 0 - 2 - 1 As you can see Minnesota has been successful against all teams in the league except for Ottawa and Yukon, the two top teams. BUT, those two teams haven't been improving their roster like the Storm have lately. Adds and Drops this season: Minnesota Yukon Ottawa Adds Drops (D) Jyuunya P.O. Desu - TPA: 200 (G) Wiley Blanchette - TPA: 83 (G) Pekka Grubauer - TPA: 200 (LW) Oskar Kiprusoff - TPA: 99 (RW) Nils Godlander - TPA: 200 (D) cube whale - TPA: 136 (LW) James G. Dropper - TPA: 200 (RW) Zakary Delisle - TPA: 193 (D Nikita Eklund - TPA: 156 The Storm acquired FOUR maxed out players ranging almost all positions. They did give up goaltender Wiley Blanchette but in return grabbed Pekka Grubauer @Tendy from the Aces who has been playing unbelievably good. While in Las Vegas, Grubauer lead the league in SV% and sat in the top 3 for GAA. As well, they added three extremely strong wingers in Nils Godlander @Moon_50 and James Glove Dropper @Jamomayo from Houston, and Zakary Delisle @Zakary Delisle from Philadelphia. Godlander and Dropper both had 93 and 94 points with Houston and Delisle had just over a point per game with Philadelphia. Lastly, the Storm also solved the puzzle of their blue line with adding defenceman Jyuunya Pureya Oneri Desu @Guriinwoodo from San Diego. Desu puts up more than a point per game with the Storm as they have already played 19 games with the squad. Desu and Grubauer were huge pickups as the Storm has weak defence and had a very underdeveloped goaltender. These five players will make an extremely massive impact and help lead Minnesota to a deep playoff run guaranteed. Another stat I wanted to add is the average TPA between the top three teams; Minnesota, Ottawa, and Yukon: AVG TPA FWD AVG TPA DEF GOALIE TPA Minnesota 165.8 125 200 Ottawa 137.2 143 200 Yukon 144.4 169.4 95 Looking at the averages of forwards Minnesota wins by a mile, and it is not because they only have a couple forwards on their roster, they have 10. If you take away their weakest forward, TPA = 68, the average of their nine best forwards jumps to 176.6. That is insane as the top three forward lines will have majority of playing time anyways. Now if you look at the average defensive TPA that is where the storm rank last, but in my opinion this does not matter. With such strong depth from up front and having the best goaltender in the league with Grubauer, the defence should barely have to do their jobs as you have a brick wall between the pipes and a top 9 forward squad who can all score. I really do believe Minnesota is a team to watch out for and Yukon and Ottawa should be ready for a very competitive series when they meet up with the Storm in the playoffs.

AJ Williams is cruising through his rookie season in the VHL. Williams currently sits with 20 goals and 26 assists, totaling 46 points in 52 games. He's been putting up about 5 shots a game and averages just under a goal every two games. Williams holds third place in points for rookies and a ROTY award is not in sight but the bigger picture is to get his team to the playoffs. Los Angeles is 6th in the North American Conference, one points behind the New York Americans. An interview earlier today from Williams about the Los Angeles Stars: Interviewer: Does Los Angeles have a chance to make the playoffs after a deep run in S79? Williams: Yes most definitely. Our squad is still a competitive group even after losing our number one defenceman Jeffrey Pines. We still have great leaders in Stamen, Gucci, Merrick, Dimmadome between the pipes, and Dydrahl stepping up to hold our blue line. Interviewer: Has you joining the Stars this season been a result in the team's struggle? Williams: I hope not, and I wouldn't say we're struggling. I feel as if I am holding my own and helping my team whenever we leave the ice with a win. I have been putting up good points and keep myself disciplined to stay out of the box. Interviewer: What does Los Angeles need to do to find themselves a playoff spot? Williams: Just play our game. I know the talent we have and the chemistry we carry in the locker room. I would be shocked if our off-season came earlier than we expect.

So a third of S80 has gone by and AJ Williams has been doing quite well for himself. Throughout 26 games played, Williams has recorded 10 goals, 12 assists, and 22 points. These are not ROTY type of stats like how Matty Fire is performing (37 points in 27 games played), but honestly I am not mad about it. On a team with a losing record in his first season with the skill he has, I do not think anyone should be mad. Williams is used to being on losing teams and winning teams as his last two seasons he experienced both. Some stats that I enjoy seeing is that Williams has 4 PIMs in 26 games... that means he is spending his time on the ice producing instead of hurting his team while sitting in the penalty box. Another impressive stat is his 0 +/-. It is nice to see that my player is a team player, and I hope to bring that energy to Los Angeles for a long time. The team is hurting this season and hopefully a rebuild with good draft picks in the near future can spark a winning record and bring home some hardware. I plan for my player to be a franchise player for the Stars, with only 7 seasons eligible, that means I have 6 more seasons after this one to train and gain baby. This article is all over the place I am tired.

Another Standout Player is Williams Groves @Will3 for their impact in the locker room. Comments: Ottawa leads the VHLM standings this season so far sitting one point above the Rush. The Lynx are currently on a 18 game winning streak. @16z has done a great job turning this team around after missing the playoffs in a disappointing S79. Ottawa is too hot to handle and at this rate (knock on wood) maybe they will find themselves in the record books for most wins in a season. Although they sit below Ottawa in the standings, Yukon is the only team this season to have beaten the Lynx. Kyosti Karjalainen @UnkemptCL4PTP has been a scoring machine this season, leading the league in goals scored. @Domg5 has built this team to look like the S78 Rush who won the Founder's Cup. Current Rank: 3 Record: 15 - 6 -2 Last 10 games: 7 - 2 - 1 Place in standings: 3 Standout Player: Barry Bonds Jr @Jim Kovtrash - 16 goals, 48 assists, 64 points in 23 Games Played Comments: After a disappointing S79 finishing 2nd last in the league, @Laine and the Storm have bounced back and are rolling through the VHLM. The Storm have a lot more depth than last season and because of it sit third not only in these rankings, but also in the standings, GF, and GD. A main role to this success is Barry Bonds Jr @Jim Kovtrash who leads the league in points this season. Current Rank: 4 Record: 15 - 8 - 1 Last 10 games: 4 - 5 - 1 Place in standings: 5 Standout Player: James Glove Dropper @Jamomayo - 23 goals, 33 assists, 56 points in 24 Games Played Comments: The Houston Bulls have pulled a massive U-Turn from the S79. Finishing last place by a mile in S79 and selling all players for draft picks, @MattyIce has helped out this organization big time filling out his roster and making Houston a strong playoff contender once again. James Glove Dropper @Jamomayo sits in the top 10 in the league for goals, assists, and points, helping lead Houston's offence to success. Current Rank: 5 Record: 15 - 7 - 1 Last 10 games: 6 - 4 - 0 Place in standings: 4 Standout Player: Pekka Grubauer @Tendy - 15 wins, 0.909 SV%, 3.15 GAA in 23 Games Played Comments: The Aces are beating the odds with their four player roster (2 F, 1 D, 1 G) and blowing away their competition in the Western Conference. Pekka Grubauer @Tendy has the Aces on their shoulders as they sit in the top 2 for SV% and GAA in the league. @JigglyGumballs keeps their motto "trade the picks trust the process" and it is working so props to them. Current Rank: 6 Record: 13 - 7 - 3 Last 10 games: 5 - 4 - 1 Place in standings: 6 Standout Player: Matt Avens @Mr Bohannan - 28 goals, 24 assists, 52 points in 23 Games Played Comments: Mexico City has been a solid team for the past couple of seasons and it seems as if they are following tradition. @youloser1337 has taken over this organization and made an impact since. The Kings only have three players over 100 TPE but they still sit in the top half of the league - Matt Avens @Mr Bohannan is one of these key players, placing them fourth in the league for goals scored. Current Rank: 7 Record: 10 - 12 - 2 Last 10 games: 5 - 4 - 1 Place in standings: 7 Standout Player: Bryn Yrwy @dylanjj37 - 29 goals, 35 assists, 64 points in 24 Games Played Comments: Halifax is currently the best of the worst (the best team out of the bottom 6 teams). The 21st have a smaller roster but have some key players like Bryn Yrwy @dylanjj37 and Jacob Richard @Jacob Richard who both sit in the top 5 for leaders in league points. If the 21st and @Brewins15 keep on pace, there is no doubt they will find themselves in the playoffs. Current Rank: 8 Record: 8 -14 - 2 Last 10 games: 5 - 4 - 1 Place in standings: 8 Standout Player: Mason Jones @Masu Chan - 6 goals, 20 assists, 26 points in 24 Games Played Comments: @Alex_J32 has taken over as the Reapers new GM after being the AGM for two seasons. The Reapers finally found a goaltender in Ali Des Aves @ViprVipewho has played a huge role. Philadelphia is currently holding onto a playoff spot and with their depth in roster and someone between the pipes, it is hard to say that by the end of the season they won't be seeing the playoffs. Current Rank: 9 Record: 8 - 15 - 0 Last 10 games: 5 - 5 - 0 Place in standings: 9 Standout Player: Yun Chiang @FireballSalad - 8 goals, 15 assists, 23 points in 19 Games Played Comments: It seems as if Miami has a tradition - do good one season, tank the next. The Marauders won the Founder's Cup in S74, S77 and most recently in S79. After each season they won, they played very poorly, so maybe @Ledge and Dairy is smart to follow in the footsteps of Miami history. Current Rank: 10 Record: 5 - 15 - 3 Last 10 games: 1 - 8 - 1 Place in standings: 10 Standout Player: Daniel Janser @Daniel Janser - 10 goals, 17 assists, 27 points in 23 Games Played Comments: After a heartbreak loss in the Founder's Cup in S79, @N0HBDY looks to rebound and find a way back in. At this pace it won't happen as the Hounds have won only one of their last 10 games. I won't disrespect the Hounds as they are only working with a four player roster (3 F, 1 D) and all forwards have over a point per game. Current Rank: 11 Record: 5 - 18 - 3 Last 10 games: 4 - 6 - 0 Place in standings: 11 Standout Player: Dekster Jankowski @xsjack 19 goals, 12 assists, 31 points in 24 Games Played Comments: Saskatoon finished 2nd best in the league last season in standings, so funny enough they have decided to throw down their uno reverse card and sit at 2nd worst in the league now. @Doomsday is working with a very small roster this season and it is looking like a rebuild for the Wild squad. Current Rank: 12 Record: 3 - 19 - 1 Last 10 games: 0 - 10 - 0 Place in standings: 12 Standout Player: Robert Wilk @Tomat0 - 21 goals, 19 assists, 40 points in 23 Games Played Comments: San Diego struggles this year sitting last in the standings and these rankings. New GM and former Ottawa Lynx AGM @JB123 has taken on this task and hopefully will lead the Marlins to a bounce back to being a contender team. The Marlins have a young team with 8 out of 9 players being rookies and also are hurting for a goaltender. I believe if they get someone between the pipes there will be a lot more wins in the future. On a brighter note, S78 veteran Jyuunya Pureya Oneri Desu @Guriinwoodo has been a defensive threat for their team, finding themselves in the top 3 for hits and shots blocked this season. I am excited to announce to whoever reads this .com article that I have joined the VSN team as one of the writers! This may not seem super exciting to most but in my eyes this is a massive W for myself. First of all, Job pay is 8 per week when I write an article... No more torturing myself to type out reviews. Don't get me wrong it is nice to search the forum and read other member's work for TPE, but it is honestly a pain in my rear to have to do it (it feels forced). I have always wished there was a better way to get my last 2 capped TPE when trivia is not around and now I have that way, so I am pumped. I also just really enjoy writing media spots. I am not a great writer by any means but when it comes to the VHL my fingers start typing like crazy. I hope the community enjoys what I write in the future, I am covering the VHLM and plan to continue the Under 200 series that Alex started. Another reason I am super excited about this job is that as I have said before, I am looking for a GM job. I figured this could be another way to get my name out there more. As stated above, I enjoy writing these type of articles so it is a win-win. I am excited to get started and I hope everyone will enjoy my coverage of the VHLM!

1. To help LA make the playoffs and hopefully go for a deep run. Also to win ROTY. 2. Vancouver probably, we're 1-2 against them so far but they're very good this season. 3. AJ Williams being called up. 4. Both, need the body to stay in shape but also need relaxation to stay sane. 5. Chocolate >>> 6. I'm a big multi grain guy, don't know why or how but I am.

What has been a key role to our winning record. 3. How has your player performed through the first sim? 4. Malmo currently owns first place in the league, will they take home another Victory Cup? (Best Regular Season Record) 5. How do you think our team looks? Anyone we should add? Trade? 6. If you could travel anywhere in the world where would you go?
