  5. The day of the draft is here Kawaii is sitting on his seat with fellow teammates from the Miami Marauders Juha Jarvinen @Collusion talking about their offseason and what they did in that time. The draft started and Jarvinen was supposed to be selected as the top pick of the draft. The first round ended and not Jarvinen or Kawaii was called, Jarvinen didn’t seem stressed or anything by the situation. The second round ended and yet again both names were not called in the stadium. In the third round you can see Jarvinen beginning to stress a bit. The 34 picks and the Philadelphia management team are in the stadium and ready to select their next pick. From The Miami Marauders… Kawaii taps the back of Jarvinen and says: it’s going to be you… The Philadelphia Reapers are proud to select from Hawaii USA Ipo Kawaii. Kawaii's surprise jumps in the air of excitement and hugs his family and turns to Jarvinen and says : I will make them pick you, don't worry and winks at him. Kawaii quickly runs down the stairs and goes to meet his new team. After meeting with the teams and talking a bit with some new teammates, Kawaii returned to watch the draft. It’s the Fifth round pick 66 and Philadelphia has pick 68 while Jarvinen is still waiting to hear his name. Kawaii sprints to the Philadelphia table and tells them that they need to select Jarvinen. The Reapers staff look at Kawaii confused and say : Jarvinen is not playing in the E? Kawaii responded: no he wants to craft his games in the M one more season. So when it’s Philadelphia's turn to pick their players, with the 68 pick they select Juha Jarvinen. Jarvinen is thrilled to play with Kawaii again and meet some other players with the organization. Ipo Kawaii and Jarvinen are now both reapers. After last season with The Miami Marauders where he started his VHLM journey. The Hawaiian surfer was pretty impressed the first time he arrived in the city of Philadelphia. All the history that is told or was told in this city it’s remarkable. During His first days in the city he was a bit lost. He didn't have anything that seemed familiar with Hawaii or Miami except hockey. At least Jarvinen was there with him; they are now very close friends. Now after 14 games Kawaii is doing pretty good. Playing on the second line he accumulated 10 points. Jarvinen is the master key in net with 7 wins in 10 games, a save percentage of.904 and a goal against average of 2.96. He also has already stolen some games against San Diego and Halifax to only say a few. Kawaii can't surf that often any more but every two weeks he goes to a Surf interior practice in Philadelphia to clear his mind. He is really focused on hockey right now but taking your mind off it can really help you perform in the future and be peaceful with yourself. 510 words

  8. The offseason is coming to an end and the VHLM draft is right around the corner. Ipo Kawaii did fly back to Maui, after the Miami Marauders had been swept by Yukon, to see his family and to train for the next season. He also organized a roller hockey match with friends he didn’t see in a long time. He was focused on his training but also took time to relax on the beach. He trained his balance while surfing and running on the beach. A good mix of vacation and training, he didn’t think too much about hockey during that time but the draft was always in the back of his mind, to keep him motivated. While training almost each day, Kawaii did take some time to relax. Miami has some great beaches and waves to surf, but Hawaiian beaches are just something else. After a little taste of the VHLM with the Miami Marauders, Kawaii really wants to have success in the league. For that he knew he needed to train really hard to bring his game to the other level and compete with the other teams. 189words

  10. Before heading to Miami to play hockey in the VHLM. Ipo needed to learn how to skate. He did play roller hockey so it’s almost the same, but he did participate in summer Skating lessons. His dream was playing hockey in the big league the VHL but he knew that he had to be better with his skating. Practicing skating with a personal coach had really helped him. But to train in needed to go to the Oahu island the arena is named the Palace and is the only ice skating arena in all Hawaii. Its was in this arena were he did skate for the first time when he was 12, Ipo was already playing roller hockey at this age and was more talented them most kids of his age, but he really wanted to learn how to skate, because he saw a lot of Sharks, Kings and Ducks games who was playing at the supper time for him. The skating lesson gave some work to Ipo to do all the drills. After each day he was taking a freezing bath to try to release the muscle in his legs. The first month was more focused on skating alone without the puck, acceleration, speed, tight corner turn and skating from behind was the main focus. The second month was the same thing but with the puck, Ipo main focus was to try to impress some VHLM scouts he did talk to the Hawaiian local press. Ipo what's that training bring to you and do you think it’s going to have a huge difference on your skill with and without the puck? The Press Ask - Well I think that my coach really pushed me to my limits and we are not done yet. I’m going to use that training to help make some space when I have the puck or create space around me when I’m without the puck. Ipo said The final month was mostly some drills with the pucks and they also added a little shooting drills to finish the camp with Ipo is more known for his shooting then anything else in Hawaii but he needed to have multiple arrows to his bows to make him even more of an offensive player. Now in Miami Ipo has scored his first goal with the franchise using his quick release to put the puck behind the goaltender. He is working really hard to help this team make the playoffs. With only 3 games left in the season, Miami is still in a huge fight with Mexico And Vegas for the last two spots in the playoffs. With both Miami and Mexico having 63 points but Miami have 4 more wins then them and Vegas are only three points ahead of them. It’s a fight over who is going to finish the last game. Miami is playing against Halifax, Mississauga and Minnesota for their last three games and will try to win most of them. Only a couple of days before the playoff starts and I can sense each player and teams who are more and more excited to play. 520 words
  11. 1. I can’t say that I’m happy or unhappy because I only play 5 games and I did create only a couple days ago. It’s pretty okay already having my first goal is nice. 2. I heard that defense and scoring was the two attributes that you want to upgrade. So I guess I would put 50 on defense 35 on scoring and the rest on Faceoff because I want to be dominant in faceoff. 3. I think we do I trust this team and players to earn the max tpe for the last days of the regular season. 4. Sadly I think it’s probably going to be a first exit, but playoff are always surprising so we can maybe cause a surprise a beat the team that we are going to face in the first round. 5. Well I’m looking to develop my players even more and being a max weekly earner. 6. It’s pretty fun. The Vhl in general with all the article for every little thing you got some good article to read on the forum.
  12. First day in Miami Damn my first day was so much fun. I met the teams and talked with some teammates and some staff members. They are really welcoming and they give me a little tour of the arena. I’m a bit concerned about our goalie situation. I heard that he is good but he doesn’t talk. He was just staring at me in the eyes, that was not so fun and was scary. @Collusion After meeting with the teams I had practice. I’m pretty sure I’m going to be on the second line. I just hope I will be in the center position. I practiced my faceoff and I think I’m doing pretty good. We also shot some pucks on Juha who was again not talking and staring at me I got goosebumps just writing that. After practice I had some free time and when I had some free time I went to the beach, sadly the waves were not big enough to surf so I just did some paddleboarding to explore. I will try to find the best beach in Miami to surf because I miss it so much. It was an eventful day but it was pretty fun. The Miami Marauders are looking good and we can maybe squeeze in a playoff spot this season.
  13. 1. Yes we do. Only 2 points behind Mexico with 1 game in hand. 2. That a good questions I did play a single games yet. But that’s because I just join the league yesterday. 3. My two favorite sports are surf and hockey but personally Surfing is more form my meditation and hockey is when I need to let some gaz out. But I love both. 6. It’s already began. I didn’t think I missed it that much.
  14. Let's begin by the start, Ipo Kawaii was a child born in Hawaii on the island of Maui in a little town called paya. He learned to surf at his uncle's surf school when he was 10 on a little beach. He was not away from home but was also in a roller hockey team which was located in Kihei, a town 30 minutes away from Paya. Ipo was good in Both sports and had friends who were playing hockey and others who were surfing with school. Ipo had very entertaining weeks playing hockey every Monday and Wednesday at 18. He was surfing every other day. For 7 years he was able to mix school work, surf and hockey pretty well, he was one of the best players in the Maui Tikki, the team that he played for and had also won some WSL competitions in surf too. At the age of 18 his Mothers and Fathers made him choose between surfing and hockey because he was failing college. Ipo was very furious and runaway… Well, he was a runaway for exactly 2 hours. His uncle finds him quickly after his sisters reach out to him to keep an eye on the beach. The beach was just behind his uncle's house. The uncle looked on the beach to see Ipo riding some waves. This beach was Ipo's favorite with waves that were almost perfect during supper so Ipo was eating alone most of the time because he wanted to ride some waves or at his uncle's place who was also a surf fanatic. His uncle seeing him head out to talk to him but Ipo knew why he was there so he stayed in the water sitting on his board refusing to go talk to his uncle. The uncle quickly told Ipo's mother that he found Ipo to Ipo mothers. Then the uncle grabbed his surfboard and was rejoining. Ipo didn't move and was fixing at the sky. His uncle asked him why he was there that late and what was on his mind. Ipo explains the situation to him and the uncle said: Well you know what Ipo surf is more of a hobby anyway for most people it’s super fun don’t get me wrong but it’s to clear your head in difficult moment maybe try to explain that to your mother and father I’m sure they will understand. Ipo did exactly that and made a compromise with his parents to finish college and keep playing hockey in the league while if needed to clear his head, he was able to surf but only on the weekends. Now Ipo has finished college and is going into his first season in the vhl, starting his journey with the vhlm.
