So, I just now read the news that Fresco is stepping down as the interim GM for New York. I am a bit surprised because for some reason I had this feeling deep within me that told me that Fresco loved the job and was killing it. But, alas, I was wrong. So, now who? I saw a response in the step-down thread that stated that New York should be relocated because no one wants to go there. Damn, how can a city like New York be so unappealing? I would say you’d look at the management choices, but I like Cow and liked dealing with him, and the same is to be said for Esso. I think now comes the time to make a hard and bold choice and have the commissioners do something crazy and give me the job. I’ve got some ideas, some good ones. I’m also really, really good looking. What harm is there? Everything else has been tried. It's time for management to show the league that they don't play favorites, and that they'll hire the most hated person in the league to run the most hated team in the league. There is nothing worse for me than knowing I agree with Rory, good God, what an awful feeling. What I mean about that is there are always reasons why the VHL leadership doesn't intend to upset people or do the wrong thing, so when people bring something up that upsets them, the usual response (and I'm paraphrasing here) is: "We try hard, we don't mean to upset, we care." And I do believe that all of those statements are fact when it comes to the board, and specifically Josh and Bek. The word that sticks out to me from Bek's response to Z is TRUST. I think it's fair for them to feel that way when they want to hire, and I also believe that what friendship overall brings is- Trust. @sterling can back me up, the whole reason I made my blowup post about the culture in the VHL 3 years ago, and took a shot at Beketov, is because the o l d boys c l u b can be hard to crack. They like to suggest there isn't one (a clique), because in all fairness, you CAN become apart of it. It's just... difficult to do. Now yes, you can be active and play the role of a VHL cheerleader and maybe get into the club early or shoot up the ladder somehow by doing the right PC move. But if you don't achieve that - it can be a high climb. I also think it's funny and so very true about @Beketov's comment over Z changing his username because I actually agree with that statement HOWEVER the hiring people ought to be doing their homework and looking at each person who applies, so you should've known it was him (and you likely did). There will always be favorites. That is the game of life. I do think Bek and Josh have shown that they can fair when choosing people for roles because whenever I see the people they hire - I LIKE THEM TOO. Lol. I wanted the updater job so bad, SO BAD. But when I saw that @a_Ferk got it I was like, "Well, I love that guy, so I get it." I will say to @lil z that not only did I love your rap but keep being you, keep applying, and remember - you da man. To any new people who might read this thread and question it, just know not to worry, keep calm and carry on. Pour us cup of tea, and let's have a nice chat on the porch.

A little bit longah than normalah

1. With two of our forward prospects, Svatopluk Puk @Otaznik and Dogwood Maple @dogwoodmaple playing for Vasteras Iron Eagles and having similar stat lines; (Puk 63pts, Maple 64pts) Which of these two players will finish ahead in scoring by the end of the regular season? Why? They're going to finish with the exact same stat line because they're both amazing. 2. Dens Oden @Snussu plays for Cologne Express, who currently hold the last play-off spot in the VHLE only two points ahead of Geneva Rush. Will the Express be able to hold onto the last play-off spot with three games remaining in the regular season? Why? I believe they will because they have a balanced attack and some solid defense. 3. Brian Schmigel @Bigb33 is currently having his career best season; do you think Schmigel can improve his numbers even further next seasons? Why? With every season Brian has proven he's gotten better and better, so how can we say he's hit his limit? 4. New rules means players that reach 300 TPE can join the VHL before the hard cap of 400 TPE. Is this a good rule change and would your player consider skipping the VHLE to join the VHL team early? Why? I think it favors the VHL and makes it more difficult for the VHLE GM's to build or draft. 350 would have been better imo. 5. With Vancouver Wolves season all but done as we are expected to miss the play-offs (Shocked); what are you looking forward to the most heading into next season? Improvement. I know we're still rebuilding but this season has been largely boring to play through. 6. Riddle: What is always in front of you but can’t be seen? Your nose.

It was a hell of a weekend for me because my son has been very sick. Sicker than I’ve ever seen him get, which was concerning, but he’s on the mend now. It’s a tough thing when you have a little boy who still does not quite understand what is happening and the only thing you can do is try and snuggle him to keep him calm – and yet! My son is a cardio freak and has a never-ending motor so even when he’s nearly dying from covid he still wants to climb everything and jump off. Things have taken a significant dip in Vancouver in terms of the win column. I know we’ve made significant moves for the future; however, the present is barely holding on. I am all for the rebuild and I am here for every step of it, just tough sometimes seeing how many goals I am letting in. But I have no say in the matter, I just need to step in the net each night and provide the best support I can. It's looking more and more like we’re going to be getting a top pick come draft day, and I have a pretty good idea who we’re targeting. Is it tampering for me to mention names? I wonder about that, and rather than get in trouble I’ll leave you guessing for now. That being said, have a look, and tell me if you know already who the answer is. Happy birthday!

Another week of trivia where I was able to search and find the answers without having to rack my brain over it, God, I love it when it works out like that. Trivia should be accessible and I’m digging the questions that have been put in the bank and supplied to us. Things are pretty much status quo in Vancouver. We’re in another build year and while this feels very much like my time in New York I know already it’s going to work out different. I feel bad thinking of my time in the Big Apple because I had hoped to be a difference maker there, and because of that lost opportunity I will make sure to not lose out on one like it again. We’ve got a good thing going on here in the Wolf Pack, lots of pups learning how to become Wolves. I’m glad to have been a bit of the start of it and hoping more than anything to play a role in the end of it (let’s get that cup). (176 words)
