  1. 1. I'll be honest, I don't really pay attention to the draft because I don't really follow any of the prospects. 2. Given the circumstances, my play has been okay for a veteran. 3. I'm the type of player that would work on the areas that the team is currently lacking in. 4. We just need to do a better job at scoring goals. 5. Nah if the NHL was rigged then the Coyotes would've gotten first. 6. I'm doing literally nothing today.
  2. 1. We just gotta win games. Simple as that. 2. I'd say that our group has a very good chance against them. 3. Prague is a pretty formidable team right now, they would certainly be tough to play against. 4. I'm not really sure, it's a hard league and anything can happen. They certainly have proven that they can be a good team. 5. It's absolutely very likely. Both of those guys are very hard workers and both should be considered for the MVP. 6. A decent amount of my picks were very wrong, so I'm not so sure anymore.
  3. 1. I think it's a combination of several things. Our power play has been clicking much more than the start of the season. A lot of guys have been stepping up when we need them the most and I think that's really helping us. 2. I might be biased, but Soggy has had that dawg in him since the start. You can always count on him to take advantage of opportunities and to set a great example for the guys in the room. 3. I'd say that I've been doing my job pretty well. If there's anything I need to change, it's taking too many penalties. 4. Bananas and Strawberries. That combination of those two fruits always get the job done. 5. I'm kinda disappointed I never got to fight Soggy while I was in LA. I'm sure he could hold his own pretty well. 6. A stick without a blade. I don't really use it that much anyway lol.
  4. 1. I'm not too well versed in the current best prospects, but I don't see how this trade could be viewed as a bad thing. 2. There's always that possibility that late round picks become effective VHL players *wink* *wink* 3. Depends on where our GMs view the team is currently at. I can see both sides 4. The NHL draft is always by far my favorite, given that the NHL is the league I follow the most 5. Blasted nachos always felt like it was too much cheese. The original cracker is the best because it's not overwhelming. It's more of a low-key type thing 6. Moskau by Dschinghis Khan is a little too obvious but I feel that it's a good contender. Perhaps the Red Army Choir version of "Let's Go" is the best option. It's the most hype march I've ever heard and sometimes I listen to it at the gym.

    It's great to be back!
  6. Interviewer: Hello Jason, thank you for joining us today. You have had a pretty interesting journey in the world of hockey, particularly with your friendship with Tomas Sogaard. Can you tell us about how you two first met and how your friendship developed? Jason Argos: Sure, I first met Tomas when he joined the Mexico City Kings of the VHLM during my second season with the team. We quickly bonded over our shared love for the game, but also found that we had a lot in common off the ice, like our shared love for fishing and the outdoors. Interviewer: You and Tomas played on a few different teams together before being drafted by the Moscow City Menace. Can you tell us about those experiences and how they helped strengthen your friendship? Jason Argos: Absolutely. When we played together on the Kings, I wasn't a rookie anymore, but it was still exciting to have a new teammate like Tomas. We had instant chemistry on the ice, which made playing together even more fun. He had a much different, and much better if I'm being honest, skillset than me, so he was able to help me improve my game in the areas in which I was not so comfortable. And then when we both played for the Istanbul Red Wolves of the VHLE, we were both living in a foreign country and dealing with language barriers and cultural differences, so we relied on each other for support. It definitely helped bring us even closer. Interviewer: When you were both drafted by the Moscow City Menace, it must have been exciting to continue your careers together on a more competitive team. Jason Argos: It was definitely exciting, but it was also a bit nerve-wracking because we were moving to a new country again. But having each other there made the transition a lot smoother. He actually helped me a bunch when I was learning some Russian. And playing for the Menace was a great experience because it was a highly competitive team and we were both able to grow as players. Interviewer: After one season with the Menace, you were traded to the Los Angeles Stars, but Tomas stayed on the Menace. Can you talk about how your friendship has changed now that you're on different teams? Jason Argos: Yeah, I was somewhat upset that they weren't able to keep me. I was hoping we could play together our whole careers, but I knew that would be unrealistic. Our friendship hasn't really changed that much, to be honest. We still talk all the time and catch up whenever we're in the same city. Of course, there's a bit of a competitive rivalry now that we're on different teams, but it's still a friendly rivalry. Sometimes I might seek him out intentionally and give him a big hit or two. We both want to see each other succeed and do well, even if it means our own team loses. At the end of the day, we're still good friends and that's what matters most. Word Count: 511
  7. 1. Guys can do whatever they want prior to a game. That might just be their way of preparing for a game. Guys have all kinds of wacky rituals they do before games, but relaxing in a hottub crosses the line? 2. I'm not superstitious, but I am a little stitious 3. I feel that it's fair. Be supportive of everyone involve, but remind them that there is still a job to do at the end of the day. 4. I believe that things like this happen every season. While I do believe that we should be working to fix this issue, we can currently afford to lose a few games here and there given our current standing in the league. 5. I feel that if we could find a way to make it work, it would be very interesting to have a VHLPA. 6. This is the best season that I've ever had. While I'm currently satisfied with my current production, there is always room for improvement.
  8. 1. We're doing great as of right now, so I don't think it's necessary to think about a rebuild right now. 2. I was? That's news to me. Those LA nights, man, they do some crazy things to you. I might have been a little "under the weather" if you catch my drift. I personally always try to take photos with fans despite what I apparently said. 3. Yes I have. It has a very distinct Nordic flavor. 4. I feel that our group right now is very good, so I can't really think of any problems. 5. They're always rock solid. Both of them never give up no matter what. 6. I'd say so, but I don't need to be a superstar. I just try to win hockey games.
  9. Interviewer: Good afternoon, Jason. Thanks for taking the time to speak with us today. Jason Argos: No problem, always happy to chat with the media. Interviewer: Let's start with your background. You were born and raised in Alaska, how did that influence your decision to become a hockey player? Jason Argos: Growing up in Alaska, hockey is just a way of life. Everyone plays, it's just part of the culture. I started playing at a very young age and fell in love with the game. I knew early on that I wanted to make a career out of it. Interviewer: You've been playing professionally for several seasons now, starting with the Mexico City Kings, then moving on to play for the Istanbul Red Wolves in the VHLE and now currently with the LA Stars in the VHL, How has your experience been playing in different leagues? Jason Argos: It's been a great experience, I've been fortunate to have the opportunity to play in different leagues and learn from different styles of play and coaches. The VHLE and VHLM are both top-level leagues and they have helped me to develop my game and adapt to different situations. The VHL is a different level of competition, it's more physical and faster, and I'm happy to be back here and playing for the Los Angeles Stars. Interviewer: You've had quite a successful career so far, with 95 points in 216 games prior to this season. How do you maintain your level of performance? Jason Argos: I think it's all about hard work and consistency. I always try to focus on the next game and not get too caught up in my past performances. I also make sure to take care of my body and stay in good shape. And of course, I have a great team behind me who helps me to stay motivated. Interviewer: You're off to a great start this season with 9 points in 8 games. What do you attribute that success to? Jason Argos: I think it's a combination of things. I've been playing with a great group of guys and we have a great system in place. Guys like Vinny Detroit and DBIII have really helped improve my game. Our coaches have been doing a great job of putting us in positions to succeed. I'm also feeling more comfortable with my role on the team. I'm playing with more confidence and that's translating to my performance on the ice. Interviewer: Finally, what are your goals for the rest of the season and beyond? Jason Argos: My main goal is to help the Los Angeles Stars win the championship. That's what we're all working towards as a team. Personally, I want to continue to improve as a player and be a consistent contributor to the team. And in the future I would love to represent my country in international competitions. Interviewer: Well, we wish you all the best for the rest of the season and beyond. Thanks for taking the time to speak with us today, Jason. Jason Argos: Thank you, it was my pleasure. Word Count:516
  10. 1. Our GM is a very respected person not just to the players, but to the community. That manager refusing to show that documentary is blatant disrespect and I fully expect him to apologize. That kind of behavior will not be tolerated. 2. So much of hockey chemistry on and off the ice. I am personally a fan of D&D and I can totally see how it can improve their chemistry, so I have nothing against it. 3. I feel that there are plenty of D-men in the league that wouldn't cost too much to get. 4. I feel that it's okay as long as there's moderation. Unlike modern sports gambling ads, most alcohol ads don't feel nearly as predatory. 5. I mostly wanted to improve my offensive game, get better at generating chances and opportunities. 6. My goal is to have more than 40 points this season.
  11. 1. I felt that our GM got some great players with the picks we had. 2. I can understand where they come from in that regard. On paper we have a very strong team, but for some reason we aren't executing. The worst position a team can be in is one where they're not living up to expectations but they don't really know why or how to fix it. 3. Sirdsvaldis Miglasķēms has always been the type of guy that would sing that part. I'm not dissing him or anything, he just seems like a goofy kind of guy. 4. It's really disappointing to hear that. We're really trying to get better. This group of guys works their tails off every night. 5. Scoish Velociraptor Maloish always seemed like captain material to me. Fantastic player, tough as nails, gives 100% every night, he seems to fit the bill to me. 6. Whoever we can get, honestly. I have a feeling that some players want to stay far away from our team given our record, but hopefully the guys that can see that we're building something here in LA will tag along.
  12. As a current first gen user, I thought it would be a fun idea to make a graphic of my first player's very first game of his VHL journey.
  13. 1. I'm willing to think that my player will get around 35-40 pts this season. I just looked at the trajectory my player seems to be going at. 2. I'm not really sure. I think New York would probably be a solid bet 3. I wish I did! Most of my folks are from Alaska so that would be a very long and expensive trip. 4. I'm certain we can get at least 35 wins. Our roster is pretty solid and the new additions should help us out considerably 5. Ooh that's a good one. I would probably like to be sponsored by one of our sister leagues. 6. I've been working much harder on my scoring, mostly my mechanics in my wrist and slapshots.
  14. 1. I feel that my player is working much more on his offensive game this offseason 2. Sirdsvaldis Miglaskems was our best forward. He was a beast last season 3. Another guy that was a beast last season, Callum Murray. 4. I feel that Gustav has done a great job at making this team much better than it was before. 5. I personally believe another solid top-6 forward would help us push over the edge 6. I have no idea who will win the continental cup.
  15. 1. My go-to meal would probably be some really good mac and cheese and sloppy joes. Those hit the spot every time. 2. I feel that it would be cool to have a team in Paris or Berlin. 3. I'm sure it would be cool to play for the Americans. 4. I took German from 6th grade until high school, but I'm extremely far from fluent 5. My expectations for this season are that I play a bigger role than the previous year. 6. Probably the time that I got a single assist in a game and I got first star.
  16. 1. I think that we gave them a really good run for their money. 2. My main takeaway is that I am a player that deserves to play in this league. 3. I'm mostly gonna be focusing on earning TPE in my free time. 4. Unfortunately not. The team is in a tough spot right now and they don't really have the cap space to keep me. 5. I have no idea to be honest. I haven't been paying attention to the incoming players and I don't feel like searching for any right now. 6. I'll probably need to bolster up my scoring a bit.
  17. 1. To be honest I didn't really have a prediction going into the series, but it is a pleasant surprise. 2. I was not here for the previous cup runs, but I do have to point out how dynamic and versatile our team is. There are virtually no gaps in our lineup. 3. I've been sorta invisible in most of the games, but I'm very happy with my performance in game 2 4. He certainly has the opportunity to carry us all the way there. It's our job to not allow many quality shots and not turn the puck over. 5. The highlight of my summer was hanging out with my buddies from back home after a long time. 6. I'm starting to really get back into Royal Blood.
  18. 1. Not too surprised. Most of the pieces that made us so good are still here and kicking. 2. Markinson is making a pretty great case for MVP. 3. I have been playing around as well as I expected. Aa rookie playing in the bottom six with not the most skilled attributes, I'm glad I could still be a useful player. 4. I really think that it could go either way. 5. I haven't had that many food stains that I can remember. I don't think I could ever throw out clothes for that reason. I would probably just use them as pajamas. 6. My summer has been fine. Not too much to report on that front.
  19. Approximately 15 seasons ago, when the VHL was beginning their 70th season, Jason Argos was just a little kid. At around this time, Jason fell in love with skating and had just started to play organized hockey. Being from Alaska, it was not very hard for him to find suitable ice to skate on during the colder months of the year. He is what you would call a "rink rat", though he mostly spent his time on ponds and lakes in the Alaskan wilderness. It was also around this time that he caught his dad watching a game of hockey on TV. Jason didn't really know much about hockey outside of Alaska, so the hockey being played on the TV immediately captured his attention. Almost instantly, he understood why his dad would be watching this game so intently. This game was unlike anything Jason had ever seen. The players were moving so incredibly quickly that it felt that the camera could barely keep up with them. They were passing with such precision and purpose. It was a game between the New York Americans and the Moscow Menace. Jason's dad never really cheered for any particular team, but given that they were American, he would generally cheer for the American teams. Jason was almost persuaded into joining this line of thinking, but noticed the way that the Menace played they game. They were hard-nosed and physical, combined with an extreme amount of skill and grit. It felt like at least once every 10 seconds, a player would be seemingly sent across the pacific ocean from a hit by a Menace player. None were as prominent as a Menace forward who went by the name of "Randoms". Randoms could be easily identified by his 6' 8", 250 pound figure. He looked like an elephant that had found his way into a monkey exhibit. Randoms would be passing, shooting, and making plays just like the rest of the Menace players, but when he made contact with another player, it looked like a truck slamming into a bike. Randoms play was nothing short of ferocious. Soon, he would notice other Moscow players who would lay out hits like Smitty Werbenjagermanjensen, Dan Baillie, and Vladimir Pavlov, but none of them were as imposing and intimidating as Randoms. Jason was immediately attached to this player and wished to play just like him. Jason was certainly not a very big kid, but he sure as heck was going to try as hard as he can to play just like Randoms. At his next game, Jason made his first big hit on an opposing player. He was given a penalty, as the puck was very far away from both of them, but that didn't matter to him. He felt like a completely new player. With some adjustment, he had fully incorporated hitting into his game. Jason quickly went from an unremarkable prospect, to a hard-hitting power forward that attracted the interest of some VHL teams. When the day of the draft came, he could not believe that the team he had cheered for for so long had drafted him in the third round. Of course, he knew that he would not be playing there right away, but that did not deter his motivation to eventually become just like his favorite player. Edit: Word count 553
