It feels good when your team is on the winning side of a shutout, there's no denying it. Low scoring games are terrible for stat lines, though. Let's get that offense going! In this post, we'll take a look at some stats from the nine games this season which have resulted in 10+ goals scored, because we love to see the puck find the back of the net. Fully half of the teams have avoided games running up to double-digit totals, which is either a testament to the strength of their goalies and defense or a condemnation of their offense, depending on your perspective. We'll worry about those teams in a future article. Maybe. The Calgary Wranglers have appeared in 3 double-digit games, winning two of the three. Impressively, they ran up ten goals on their own against Prague. Speaking of Prague, the Phantoms topped the charts with five double-digit games played, of which they won two and lost three. Their highest scoring game so far this season was a 7-4 win against the Calgary Wranglers in Game 15. Helsinki, Moscow, London, and Vancouver each participated in two of these electric high-scoring games, winning a single one. The only team undefeated in games which total 10+ goals are the LA Stars, who handed Helsinki a 6-5 loss in Game 144. Conversely, Davos has appeared in a single 10+ goal game, and suffered a loss from Prague in Game 190, final score 7-4. In an era where goalies seem to be pretty good, it's fun to look into situations like this, which show that forwards are also very, very capable. I didn't research how this season relates to previous seasons' scoring trends. I'm not trying to make any points about the state of the league or anything, I just thought this might be kind of interesting to take a look at.

I feel the energy in this podcast so much. I want to just chat for a bit about the league and earn some TPE, but it's difficult to really spin up the gears and generate 15 full minutes of content. I keep thinking "yeah, I'll do a big podcast any day now" and the weeks just keep slipping away. We need to get a podcaster roundtable discussion going, maybe drum up some ideas for evergreen content topics. Or we can come up with ways to couch dick and fart jokes in podcasts without the updaters getting upset enough to deny our claims. Think of all the hijinks we could be getting up to

VHLE lifer is an interesting idea, and it’s certainly a lower pressure performance than being expected to max earn for a decade. I think we probably have all talked about needing some community building stuff. I leave comments on YouTube videos when it’s content by people I know, or occasionally I’ll comment on the Blue Jackets pressers and stuff, not because I expect anyone to read it but because I can speak to the void and feel like my voice is being heard.

I'm never going to be comfortable with that intro, whoever recorded it is a weirdo. Having never been to Australia, it's great to hear you complain about bin chickens the same way they do on Bluey. Trivia has the innate reward of the dopamine hit of discovering a correct answer, so that's a plus. I still don't enjoy doing it, though. I'm ready for you to do some trend-setting podcasting! I'd play in the VHLM for you, I feel like that would be a fun locker room experience. Not a shit podcast nor a shit bloke! The most difficult part of podcasting is getting the ball rolling. It takes me two or three failed attempts at introductions before I can find my voice for an episode. The struggle is real.

Congrats on a year of BSB! That's a cool milestone. Pretty sick of bans and mod drama too, I'm glad I'm not the only one. I did a reroll and I feel like I somehow made my player worse instead of better. I'll be interested to see how it turns out on the stat sheet. I like pizza with just cheese, honestly. Other toppings are fine, but the combo of crust, sauce, and cheese is complete enough for me.

I might agree that the VHL discord is pretty skippable, but for the sake of conversation: what are the unskippable content areas? Aside from the team LR, I mostly look at sim results and find little incentive to explore elsewhere. I feel conflicted on the Rory business because I thought they were a pretty solid type of person who is a positive force in the league. They might still be, I guess, but this was a surprising incident for sure. Achilles seemed genuinely damaged, which is weird because that happens like, a lot in this league. All kinds of troubled youngsters acting out. Post pics of the sky! The people demand it. To twist the knife of D.C. betrayal even further, I pretty much only returned to the league because of your bait on discord. Had you not instigated my return, the team might not have performed well enough to go the distance. Poopy will be remembered as a player with a lot of heart, if not a ton of awards. Maybe your next player, which I’m assuming will be an IKEA meatball on skates, will earn you more hardware.
