Aimee got a reaction from der meister in Der Meister's Writing (and YouTube!) Thread: Live from the Waiting Room!
I'd be up for it! I used to beta read for fanfic forever ago and my sister is self published and I've helped her with her books as well.

Aimee reacted to VattghernCZ in My picks for the top VHLM players by player types
Even though 200 TPA is not enough to really get creative with the build, there certainly are a few different player types the members go for. In the VHL, I would probably do a breakdown of all EA NHL player types. For the M, I'm going to restrict the player types to just five. Also, this article is based on my opinion on the players’ builds, keep in mind I probably don't know what I'm talking about.

Scoring forward: Youre Not Fucking Retiring (PHI) @twists
I was deciding between YNFR and Brandon Petan Jr for this one. Both are tied for the league's best ability to Score (67) and prefer to shoot than to pass, but I went with YNFR because of the supporting stats. YNFR has average Skating (50) ability and slightly above average Puck Handling (52) and Strength (55), all of these should help them maintain possession, control the puck and get to the position to score.

Playmaking forward: Clapbomb Bardownski III (MIS) @Eb14
While CB3 doesn't have the best Pass (58) in the league, it's its combination with Puck Handling (55) and Defense (53) that makes them in my opinion a more effective playmaker, than many players with better Pass but sub-par collateral stats. CB3 will Score (53) some goals as well, especially on tips and rebounds, but their assists total should be significantly higher.

Two-way forward: Clapbomb Bardownski III (MIS) @Eb14
The Swiss army knife of a player makes the second appearance on my list. Does it make them the MVP forward in my opinion? Probably. On top of their playmaking prowess, they also bring high end Defense (53) and are no stranger to Checking (43) either. While their average Skating (49) could hold them back a bit, I believe they still are the best possession driving force in the M at the moment, thanks to their Defense, solid Strength (50) and great Puck Handling (55).

Puck moving defenseman: River Harrington (OTT) @kirbithan
Harrington can both Score (50) and Pass (50), while still contributing with high end Defense (62). But what really stands out is their elite Puck Handling (66), allowing them to maintain possession and create space, despite their rather average Skating (50).

    Defensive defenseman: Alagsantere Grønvold (MEX)
I'm biased, but my player boasts the league's highest Defense (70), league's highest Skating (56) to stay in good position, decent Strength (52) and Puck Handling (53) to not lose the puck to every hit, and plays with some edge (Checking: 45), even though he's far from being the most punishing hitter around.

I would love to join. Been wanting to play for long time, but same as some others here, never had a chance to commit to specific days and times, so have pretty much no experience. Let me know if this moves forward, would be great to finally play some!

You've got enough interest for 2 groups of players, which is favorable for those far outside your own time zone or can only do earlier sessions.

Nice to see a thread like this, enjoy your games! I won't be taking part (timezones, plus to me it's nowhere near as enjoyable online), but I love me some DnD, I'm currently playing in two campaigns and DMing a series of somewhat interconnected one shots

That is why you teach your children how to play.  Then they can be involved. If I am remembering correctly yours is too young but there will come a day that they can learn.
I think I had Jacob playing by about age 10.

Thank you so much, @Alex and @N0HBDY!! When starting out as a first gen, I couldn’t have even imagined that my player would have a career like this, let alone having his jersey retired for two franchises. It’s been a hell of a ride.

I couldn’t have asked for anything more from both teams and truly appreciate everything. Still in disbelief that Summers’ name and number will be in the rafters!!

It’s been a while since I’ve written one of these, I certainly wouldn’t have thought it would be for who I will be talking about in this part of the post, especially for how late I acquired them in their career.

It’s not often that you make a trade for a player for the last 2 seasons of their career and it end up being arguable two of the best seasons of their career.

In her time with Warsaw she was a 2-time MVP, 2-time Best Overall, 2-time All VHL First team, and In 130 games is now 3rd All-Time in Wins for Warsaw.

I’ve cherished the time @kirbithanspent with Warsaw and how much they helped contribute to making us a competitive team, regardless of playoff outcomes (GM curse), they were always in the locker room spreading positivity after a huge performance like back to back shutouts or just a big matchup win.

So I am very happy to announce that along with Davos, Warsaw will be retiring #50 in Lachlan Summers honor, and have it hang from the rafters for as long as the franchise may remain.

    LACHLAN SUMMERS JERSEY RETIREMENTS?!
     @kirbithan

"With the 12th overall pick of the S86 VHL Entry Draft HC Davos Dynamo selects from the San Diego Marlins, Lachlan Summers" when those words were said almost 10 seasons ago, very few could have imagined what would come out of the pick, after all Summers had been an average goalie in the VHLM. However, after the draft Summers progression would soar to new heights, they would go onto post a 0.922 SV% and 2.74 GAA in the VHLE. In S87 they would be called up to serve as Hall of famer Xavier Booberry's backup.

Summers would pick up a few tricks over that season as a backup, that would really shine when they burst on the scene in S88, posting a 0.32 SV%, 2.30 GAA, and winning the Christian Stolzschweiger Trophy as the VHL's top rookie, and helped Davos on a lengthy playoff run. The following season, Summers great play would continue, and in the playoffs they would excel, as they had a 0.937 SV% and would post a record of 12-4-0 on route to a Continental Cup Championship.

Over the course of the next two seasons, Summers would be the most successful goalie in the VHL winning 2 Victory cups and the Greg Clegane, Aidan Shaw, and Brett Slobodzian Trophies in S90. Over the course of 6 seasons with Davos Summers posted a record of 201-97-29 (6th most wins in franchise history), and a 0.930 SV% (2nd), and a 2.46 GAA (7th) and a playoff record of 26-15-6 (2nd most wins), a 0.922 SV%, and a 2.89 GAA.

It is with great pleasure that I get to announce that Lachlan Summers' Jersey has been retired to be hung in the rafters in Davos for the seasons to come!
