"To all the VHLM and VHLE GMs out there, this news is important in your decision on whether or not to select me in your upcoming drafts. I feel that I am on the cusp of being ready to take my talents to the next level, but I will elect to stay in the M for only 2 teams. If any other team selects me I will make the push to move into the E and begin my march toward the VHL. I want name the teams publicly so please feel free to reach out to my agent if you are on any staff considering selecting me." When asked what spurred the confidence in a potential move to the E during a follow up Q and A, Lampi had this to say: "My showing in the Junior Showcase against consistent and evenly match competition has shown I'm about at my peak at this level. I think playing at a level below your own can really stunt a players developmental progress so it's a tough call always. That why I've identified the two teams I most want to play with." This is fair. I've found myself wanting to personally gravitate to the graphic side just because i can look at an image and come to a conclusion much quicker than lets say reading a media spot for example... so i feel the timing aspect of things... I am also a notoriously slow reader..... like probaly half as fast as 90% of the VHL community

I think more so the point is like... for example myself... I'm totally unable to critique any graphic... but if i like it... i can at least drop a fire reaction... you as a human that i admittedly am assuming has eyes and can see... can formulate an opinion on graphics and engage with them. If you dont know how to intricately analyze a piece of media just dont do that... react how you feel is appropriate if you see it. It looks the same as other stuff you have seen but its still cool... give it a thumbs up... idk.. kind of rambling bc im tired and this isnt meant to be like an attack. i just feel like the mind set you have is like a form of self gate keeping that i feel is unfair and is taking yourself out of parts of this community that could have the member's youd like to interact with the most. TLDR dont avoid engaging with content bc you feel unqualified. simply seeing my media spots or .com's get any reactions is a huge dopamine boost.

Yeah you are a guy i want more involved... i feel like thats on me... i drafted Lajeunesse for the "i want a player from every team meme." not saying he is bad but i needed another defensive forward there to allow players like you, Swinsola, and Naps to play your games. kind of hamstringed myself with that decision but ehhh... its a good meme and im proud of the team regardless. Love Jason still... but yeah... i think thats a fair critique on myself as a talent evaluator.

hello @Joshua Yun!!! Sadly the VHLM season has concluded but do not panic... you have a chance to show the scouts in the VHLM what you got by joining a Junior Showcase roster. Mine only has bottom 6 ice time available unless you wanted to play Defense (just for this tournament) for more playing time. Goaltending this playoffs felt pretty irrelevant, like 7 teams have a max guy. So at that point you need overwhelming offense or a solid defense. Halifax could have had 5 defensemen, which while most of them are sub 100 TPE that's still a significant upgrade to the bots. 2 IAs right before playoffs killed them and left Ash out to dry. Then they lost an important forward and one got a TPE ban.... It was a rough way to end the year. Overall, HFX underperformed but like we can see how that happened based on the timing of these issues.

I have two forward build ideas, one is much braver than a playmaker. But I'll save it until that time. Also, I think it's fair to suggest that the difference between the playmaker and sniper is just that a scorer will do what they do, good/bad team, good/bad lines good/bad coaching like all of that will hurt their realized value but they will do their things. The playmaker build kind of necessitates those extra parts being good. If they aren't tip top your player won't find that breakthrough.

TLDR I essentially agree with you on the fact that we dont need many play makers. But I disagree with the idea that they are useless. At VHL with 800 TPE, I'd probably go a different route but at 400 I can see it being incredibly good for it's purpose

I can't speak to the VHL but I'm telling you. Passing has a very important function. A situational function, but an important one nonetheless. At higher TPE I can see how that function is less meaningful and I can go into detail on that but end of the day at a macro level passing is important. For the individual no but on the whole of a team yes. I'll put it this way. A line with 3 good passers is fucking brain dead stupid. But having 1 passer will be pretty effective. Not for them as a player putting up points because a playmaker needs others to produce to have that seen on the stat sheet. I want to make a playmaker next and see what I can do with it. I believe I can make an incredibly effective player.

I actually think passing is quite important, just on a personal basis it won't make your player look good. That's the main issue. It serves a function but that function benefits the team.

I think we are seeing a good bit of this. Look at this VHLM Finals, I'd wager the two teams boast 2 if the better defensive forward cores overall. I do wish some things were slightly different. Like for example, GR and BC... Virtually zero reason to ever choose GR unless you are at 70 BC already. Like things like this should be a tough choice. Also like... Maybe FG should give like ST. Right now, if you want ST as a DFD you have to invest in PC... Obviously the best choice... And then... SS or FO... If I'm a DFD I don't want those. Maybe Grit or BC or FG adding ST would balance this more and lead to a slight uptick in diversity. Obviously the people who built the system carefully put this all together and know better than I the balance but that's the main one I've seen.

IMO coaching matters... lines matter... opposing lines also matter. something else to keep in mind is like. a guy with 90 PA / 90 SC / 90 PH will likely score less than a guy with 60 PA / 80 SC / 70 PH as an example. The ratio between these ratings to my understanding determine your tendencies in the sim. When you player ouches the puck he will do something. If he shoots it every time, you'll probably score a lot more than a guy just taking less shots. Even if that guy has a better SC score than you. Hope this explanation helps a bit... and anyone more experienced than myself please feel free to dispute this information if i am incorrect.

Halifax lost key players heading into the postseason, they had 3 Dmen in the Reg and Added 2 just before the playoffs. Then they had to cut 2 and a forward.

Oh you'll only spend like 20 games on the Brigade. Then you will be drafted to a VHLM team.
