Being a max player already isn't all that worth it.

With Malmo's two wins today, Malmo has averaged 104.57 points-per-season over the past seven seasons. Excluding the first 17 seasons, because the data is lost or at least not easily accessible, this is the best seven-season stretch in VHL history. fyi

S96 USA Missionaries of Freedom Roster Announcement
scoop replied to Spartan's topic in WC Team Announcements
Hopefully we can improve upon the silver medals from the last two World Cups. I want to win something. But hey, with my next player maybe I can go first overall, not sharing a draft class with you. lol jk I'll be making a goalie and no one is going to need a goalie -

Yeah but so were Woods, Calaway, and Hardy. Statistically, Mina isn't up there but they've got the TPA to compare.

Looks like Malmo's defense will be just fine without Jacob Stone. Perhaps we can get a chance to play together in the World Cup. Getting on the roster as a defender is tough, though.

1. When we get together for Christmas, which usually isn't actually on Christmas but just some time around the end of the year that works for at least most of us, we have gas station pizza. Why? Because it's Casey's pizza and it's delicious. 2. Should win the Top Defender pretty easily, though I don't expect to win either Top Offensive or Top Defensive Defender. Still, I was hoping for a better season, especially with how things started. Not sure I was ever really expecting much more, but I was feeling good about having my first 100-point season. 3. Wild fan, so I'd say they're doing pretty good, considering they've got the best record in the league. I don't follow the NHL too closely, so I go into every season with expectations that they are going to be at the very least a playoff team. That's a strange philosophy to have, as a Minnesota sports fan, but that same MN sports fan in me does not expect them to stay on top. 1. If you are not still playing in the playoffs, have you already begun to set your expectations for next season? If you are still in the playoffs, did you expect the post-season to be going as well for you as it has been? 2. How much do you care for the role play aspect of sim leagues, or are you purely in it for the simulation? 3. Do you or your family have any pets?

Jacob Stone has been on a tear for Malmo in the playoffs, but the Nighthawks are one loss from elimination. Down 1-3 to the Moscow Menace, another loss would spell the end of Stone's Nighthawk career. He is doing all he can to extend it, with four goals, five assists, 19 hits, 8 shots blocked, and a +1 rating. Including the round one series against Warsaw, he has six goals and ten assists in seven playoff games. He has been a picture of consistency for the Nighthawks, having a seven-game point streak, including six multi-point games. Along with Stone, fellow Nighthawk veterans Savaisk Tzesar and Viktor Jensen have been having an excellent post-season. Tzesar leads the playoffs with 17 points, and Jensen is tied with Stone with six goals. While Tzesar and Jensen will have another season left in their careers, Stone is playing his last hockey with the Nighthawks. He has spent nine seasons with the team, setting several franchise records. The end of his time with Malmo won't quite spell the end of his hockey career, as he will have one last World Cup tournament to play in with Team USA. He has two silver medals, and will be seeking Team USA's first gold medal since Season 78.

Long before the S80-S83 Menace, there were the S25-S28 Americans

Slater's heroics give Vancouver the win in Game One For the New York Americans, it was a strong start to their first playoff game since Season 92, but the offense stalled after taking a 2-0 lead in the first period. This allowed Vancouver to get back into the game. At the end of the second period, the score was tied at 2-2. The third period saw the Wolves in control, as they outshot the Americans 19-9, but stellar play from New York's WWWWWWWWWWWW WWWWWWWWWWWW in net gave their team the opportunity to regroup for an overtime period. Just over a minute into the game, Liv Slater put an end to the hope with a game winner, adding on to her assist from earlier in the game to earn her the first star. Davos vs Riga appears to be headed to a familiar outcome as Dynamo take Game Two The most common playoff matchup in VHL history is Davos vs Riga, which is now happening for the 22nd time. Although Riga reigned when they met a season ago, the Dynamo actually hold a 16-5 edge in what is also one of the most lopsided matchups in playoff history. Davos' victory in Game Two of the series has them on track to further extend that historical lead. For Davos, it took an incredible performance from Merome Dilson to get the victory. Looking to end his career on a high note, Dilson faced a barrage of 56 shots, allowing just one goal. His counterpart, Red Panda, was pulled by the Reign after allowing a third goal early in the second period. RIG G2 came in and shut things down the rest of the way, which could perhaps make Riga reconsider who should be starting in this series.

Just to be clear up front, since I know some people may sometimes attribute something in their own personal life to their player, I do not have a child. This is 100% being written as a story for my player. Playing in his ninth and final season, all with Malmo, Jacob Stone has finally seen some playoff success. The Nighthawks swept the Warsaw Predators, to the surprise of no one, and it was a big series for Stone. He had at least two points in every game, and he was named the first star in the series-clinching game three. While his performance may have been impressive, it was overshadowed by his wife Nina, who gave birth to their first child the following day. There was little time for Stone to celebrate the series win with his teammates, as he departed from Warsaw as soon as possible to return to Malmo to be with Nina. The day following Malmo's series win, they welcomed their daughter Laura Marie Stone into the world. Early projections have Laura going 9th overall in the S122 VHL draft to the Yukon Rush. Jacob was able to spend a few days in Malmo with his wife and daughter before heading to Moscow for the next playoff series. The Nighthawks find themselves in an early hole after losing the first two games to the Menace. Stone has continued his strong play with two goals and an assist in the two losses.

Secured the fourth seed as planned. Now we can get a playoff series win.
