Philadelphia Reapers Press Conference
Starchychaff replied to BladeMaiden's topic in Team Press Conferences
1. As of this writing, Philadelphia is at the top of the league still with 21 wins in 26 games, tops in offense and fourth in defense. Are we punching above our weight or is this a team of destiny? Team of Destiny for sure. We might be punching above our weight but that doesn't mean we aren't fated to win. 2. What has been our strongest point so far? What's been our weakest that needs some improving? As we are only 4th in defense you could say its our offense but to me its our defense. We are stopping teams from scoring and are keeping up scoring 3. Do you think that shaking lines up could yield better results, or can tinkering mess up chemistry? At this point tinkering the lines are a risk, will it mess with the team is the biggest question I have but if things stagnate it might be worth it. 4. It's Team Dinner night! What's your suggestion on the type of restaurant we head to? Italian, at least if I'm choosing. I love pasta meals and love to eat Pizza as well so if can have both I would take it. 5. While we are on a winning streak, do you have or have you developed a ritual that keeps luck on your side? Do you even believe in those type of things? 6. Trade deadline is slowing creeping up, and our competitors are either making deals or having talks to challenge for the Cup. Should Philly look to add some depth or top end scoring? Are things perfect as they are? I would say look for sneaky deals, Defense can use some depth on the 3rd pair and some bottom 6 guys would help for sure, however I think we need to stay the course as we aren't in full contend mode despite being the top team due to so many of our players being young -

Anthony Simmons was a average player who never reached the VHL but had his fair share of championships. Starting in Las Vegas he didn't last long at all being released before the end of the season. As is customary for he went into the VHLM Draft and was selected by the Philadelphia Reapers and here's where he would make a name for himself although not a big one. Known as a assist man who could score Simmons would be a solid piece to a championship core in Season 88 where he would earn his place as captain for the following Season 89 by giving a speech while down in the playoffs that rallied the teams spirits and the team would complete the comeback to win. After Season 89 going into Season 90 he would get the call up to the VHLE where season one he wouldn't have a good showing only scoring 16 points in 72 games, However the following season he would come back with a vengeance and score 79 in 72 and be a key contributor. The First two seasons in Cologne he would get playing time and win 2 Championships however in season 92 he would be named captain again for the second time in his career. But all good things must come to an End eventually and before he ever made it to the VHL he called it a career having felt he had gone as far as he could however that's just the beginning. Anthony Simmons II would start out on Mississauga as a mid season pick up and would go on to score 38 points in 38 games proving he could be a scoring threat however he would fall in the VHLM draft falling to Mexico. After a rocky start to life in Mexico Simmons would find his form and start scoring regularly until the trade happened. Season 93 mid season he would get traded back to Mississauga and would go on to score 28 points in a total of 23 games. Ending the season 93 Simmons II would have a total of 84 points in a "weaker" year than he would have appreciated. The following season 94 he would start on the Hounds again however would turn things around once the second trade happened. Simmons II was sent to Halifax and would never look back nearly doubling his points totals in less games scoring 76 points in 56 games added on with his Mississauga time he would have 97 points on the season. Now we are back to the present the finals of the VHLM can history repeat itself from the first Simmons and the team rally or will Simmons II join Cologne without a championship in tow.

1. Who were you happy to see get a VHL Award this Off-Season? I don't pay attention to awards but lets go with all of them since they all put the work in. 2. Do you wear hats, what kind and how? Flat brim or curved, maybe backwards? Fancy royal family style hats? Flat Birm football caps, also beanies I love me some cozy warm beanies on a cold day 3. What is your favourite cartoon of all time? Cartoon well I watch anime but I'm not gonna count those so lets go with Spongebob Squarepants 4. Do you collect anything? Video games, I am a horder so I don't throw them out so I have a big collection of games 5. If you were a goalie, what would you have on your helmet? I'd have a chiuahua on my helmet as its a ferocious dog who will scare anyone 6. Long stick or short stick? Long Stick, helps with slap shots and stick checking the puck away (according to video games)

1. If you were to GM a Pro-Am team, what would your team name be? St. Louis Hybrids, I like the idea of a hybrid position team where forwards can play defense and defense can play forward, I want that team to be so versatile that it gives everyone headaches thinking how to counter them. 2. What do you think of our Off-Season moves? I honestly like them so far, I like the moves done to improve the team and wish everyone else luck as we are coming for them. 3. Who's gonna be the top player on Helsinki this season? I don't know the team yet however I believe it will be a team effort so can I say the whole team? 4. What do you think of our new prospects? I think it was a good draft, got depth at multiple positions, got future starters, and got some projects but all of them look good as players for the long term. 5. Where does Helsinki land in the standings this season? I want to say Mid to Upper table, I don't know many I'm not good at predictions however I want to say the team should be good this season. 6. Why does my neighbour think that loud vehicles are cool? I don't know maybe because they love noise and keeping everyone awake? I don't know my neighbors are the same.

1. How does it feel to be S88 Cup Champs?!?!?! Feels great having the team defy the odds and win the cup 2. How did you feel about your players contributions in the finals and before it? Before it I felt I could have been better as I was inconsistent and that also happened in the finals but I can't be any happier being the one to score the series winning goal 3. What was the key to mounting the comeback? Teamwork and keeping the fighting spirit alive 4. How has the JST been for you if you are currently in it? JST? 5. If you are not in the JST, how would your player spend their offseason? Working hard on the ice getting ready for the next season and trying to be the best he/I could possibly be for when the season starts back up 6. Did you pay attention to the other league's finals? Unfortunately no I have been dealing with back struggles for a little bit and have been focusing on physical recovery first and foremost 7. What's your favorite color? Pink.... Yes I'm a man but I love the color Pink -
