Jeff Lewis, a talented scorer, began his promising minor league career with the Mississauga Hounds (playing in a city where he spent some of his formative years) showcasing his raw skills and potential. Moving from a small town in Nova Scotia, Lewis quickly gained attention with his remarkable scoring touch and ability to get pucks on net. S88 Stat Line: Games Played - 72 Goals - 44 (second in the league) Assists - 40 Points - 84 Shots - 417 (first in the league) Hits - 139 His minor league career began when he was drafted in the first round, sixth overall by the Mississauga Hounds in the S88 VHLM Dispersal Draft. He made an immediate impact, displaying his natural talent and work ethic. During his first year in the minors, his offensive prowess shone through. He consistently displayed excellent puck control and a fantastic shot. The Hounds had a pretty strong season finishing tied for first overall and narrowly missing the finals after falling to the Philadelphia Reapers. The Hounds had a pretty loaded team with players such as Reginald the Dodo and Mclean Hoover II and Lewis finished tied for fourth in team scoring with Austin Goulet. Lewis also plays a very disciplined game and only had 36 penalty minutes in that season. It was unfortunate the Hounds couldn't make it to the finals as this would be the only season Lewis would play in the VHLM and it would have been a great way to advance after winning a championship. However, it was a fantastic learning experience as he worked on finding his way around the VHL. Jeffs strengths include his shot which he isn't afraid to make use of as witnessed by his league leading 417 shots on goal and his ability to find his way out of tight puck battles. He has indicated he will be working on his main weakness which is really his defense as it was quite low and any promotion to the VHLE would require more effort out into this area of his play. In conclusion, Jeff Lewis had a very short but strong minor league career has been marked by impressive achievements and consistent growth. His remarkable offensive skills and work ethic have set him apart as a top prospect. With each passing week, Lewis has solidified his status as a future star in the VHL, leaving fans and scouts alike eagerly anticipating his arrival in the major leagues. 403 words

Being my first season in the VHL I was really unsure of what to expect, I still feel I know very little about how everything works. My first season was with the Mississauga Hounds and it was a pretty good season overall! The Hounds finished season 88 tied for first overall with the Mexico City Kings with 101 points. Ultimately we would fail to reach the finals after losing to the Philadelphia Reapers who finished 12 points back of us in the regular season but had a fantastic run themselves. For my personal stats, it was a pretty fun season to watch. I finished with 44 goals, 40 assists, for 84 points. The 44 goals were second in the league for goal total and I led the league on shots with 417 shots. The playoffs were also a good showing for myself as I added 5 goals, 9 assists for 14 points in 11 games. I look forward to my first season in the VHLE with Cologne Express and hope I can continue to do well for the teams I play for! 182 words

Entering the draft for both the VHL and VHLE was a bit of a stressful time for Jeff Lewis. Not hearing from many teams had him wondering if perhaps his decline in training really hurt him. Fortunately for him one of the teams that actually did reach out (expressing they didn't think he'd fall that far to them) was able to select him 10th! Being selected 10th overall in the VHL draft by the Moscow Menace was a very happy moment. Speaking with the Menace before the draft about themselves and the league was one of the rare times he got to talk to someone and in return he was very glad to have been drafted there! While he is a season or two away from playing for Moscow he at least knows where his home is and that feels good and gives him something to continue working towards. Before he lands in Moscow he will spend some time in the VHLE, but the question before the draft was where? Nobody from the VHLE had reached out to him prior to the draft. Do they scout for the VHLE he wondered to himself? Does the draft work differently? As someone new to the VHL he had no real idea. Unable to attend the draft live, he was able to check in on the results as they were updated. After two rounds he wondered if maybe he wasn't in this draft? Plenty of people with less than 200 TPE had been drafted (while he was at 268 TPE) but he had not been selected so maybe his slowed down training was really affecting him or perhaps he just wasn't in this draft. He had no idea, he was new to all of this. Finally, in the third round he was drafted 23rd overall by the Cologne Express. Glad to be drafted, his mind wandered to why he had fallen so far. That didn't last long as a couple of Express reached out to him, one taking a particular interest in helping with his build which made him feel welcome right off the bat. Going to spend a couple years in Cologne, it felt good to be welcomed and speak to some of those there already that were interested in helping him train to be the best he could become. The only sad thing is leaving his VHLM team, Mississauga Hounds, behind. They were the first team to draft him, welcome him, and help him with advice. The team had an active locker room and was pretty lively. The product on the ice was pretty solid as well doing extremely well in the regular season and falling just short of the finals. Regardless of how the drafts played out, he is extremely happy to be playing in the VHL no matter what level and is having a great time doing so and looks forward to a very long career and hopefully many goals scored! bring on the VHLE season! He thanks all those involved in the leagues who make things happen! 509 words

I just figured scouting was a semi rare thing in the VHL. I heard from two VHL teams prior to the VHL draft and exactly zero from the VHLE teams and I fell to the third round in that draft. Regardless, happy to have some teams set now but going to miss Mississauga

1. My favourite thing is being able to wear less clothes, like shorts. I hate wearing lots of clothing. The best thing about winter is the snow is pretty and I don't have to see stupid bugs everywhere that fly into you all the time. 2. Probably baseball but only a little bit 3. I think the Moscow Menace will do well but probably Seattle Bears will be the best. As for worst? I am not sure, maybe D.C. Dragons Questions: 1) Do you think they will eventually strip fighting out of the NHL? 2) With how Seattle and Vegas have done in the NHL, do you favour the new expansion process or the old one where teams like San Jose had to join with? 3) If you watch baseball, who is going to win the AL East?

1) Hmm, I would avoid my favourite team probably (Leafs) and might go with a team like Ottawa or something. 2) Hmm, I don't honestly know. Lets go with Seattle. 3) Yes. I know some people think it's terrible but I like having a bit of something sweet on my pizza! Questions: 1) Can Florida come back and win the cup in the NHL? 2) Who is your early cup favourite for next NHL season? 3) Will Matthews sign a contract with Toronto or be traded?
-
Q1) Toronto Blue Jays Q2) Hmm had some really good inappropriate ones but I guess the birth of my two children are the most important ones Q3) Next couple of years probably, other countries are always catching up 1) Who do you think will win the cup between Florida and Vegas? 2) I find it boring to watch the above teams, do you think it's good or bad for the league? 3) Why did I have to be born in Toronto and have this pain? Is Ottawa too close to cheer for as well?
-
1) I think I did not too bad, probably a bit better than I had hoped for in my first season. 2) I'd have dedicated more time and less welfare. Sadly, real life doesn't always cooperate. 3) No, I did not. 4) No suggestions, I thought they did a good job of taking over and livened up the discord quite a bit 5) Pineapple. Easily my favourite fruit! 6) Hmm, I'm not sure honestly. I like lots of them but my favourite? Maybe Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within or Titan A.E. - but I'm guessing when I finally get around to watching the Mario movie it will become my favourite

Season 89: Could A First-Gen Go First Overall?
nerji replied to MubbleFubbles's topic in VHL Central Scouting
Thanks for the kind words! I really wanted to earn as much as possible but the time requirements between the newborn, puppy, and work really caught me by surprise. I'm thankful the league has a welfare option and I keep trying to hit some of the other tasks. I suck at the trivia though. Really enjoying my time so far and hopefully things ease up here on my end so I can start getting into some media! -
1) Really enjoyed it so far, it's where he grew up! 2) I enjoy any games we;re in. It's nice to see the playoffs though to see if we can win it all. 3) No, not really. Life is too crazy right now with a newborn and a puppy. 4) Probably center or the other wing. Maybe defence in another life. 5) None. I haven't read anything lately and I rarely watch TV. I guess the Stanley Cup playoffs might count? 6) No plans at all. We have a new born so will be busy with her. I'll probably take a week off sometime in the summer to relax but that's it.

1) I thought Reginald the Dodo did really well. I swear every time I was looking at the scores he was involved in the scoring somehow. 2) Maybe some sugar free gatorade and beef jerky 3) I'm kind of interested in the WJC. I was interested in the JST last season but I didn't play very much so lost interest. 4) I prefer the forum. Am very much a forum person - created forum software that still runs as an open source project 5) Psychologist or something similar. Something to help people. 6) Probably Costa Rica, place looks beautiful. If not there then perhaps one of Cuba or Iceland.
-
1) I think our last few games have gone well, pretty impressed with the season as a whole. 2) I'm honestly not sure, maybe the Mexico City Kings as we're chasing them and have similar stats? 3) None that I can think of offhand. I wish the trivia was a bit easier to find for new people as I feel like an idiot when I miss those points. 4) I am overall happy with my player so far. A point per game isn't too bad for a rookie I guess. I can't see a rookie leader board anywhere so not sure how i stack up against others. 5) Tonight? I'll probably just grab McDs tonight for something easy since I'm out for an appointment later this afternoon. 6) Camping is ok but my wife hates it. I'd much rather go away somewhere sunny. We've been to Cuba and Dominican Republic and would return to either of those places or would like to hit up Costa Rica one day

1) It's my actual name in real life. When I play modes like Be a Pro and Road to the Show I always just make a guy and name it after myself. Real original, I know. 2) Oh for sure, I'd be pretty disappointed if we somehow fell out of a playoff spot. We're doing quite well. 3) I don't have a preference at all. Will just be happy to be drafted by someone! 4) I like the logo, it's pretty cool. 5) I play in two other fantasy leagues and I do various programming things. Sometimes web development, sometime game development. As for "not online" that is rare for me. 6) Probably just chocolate

1-Do you have any idea how to improve the team's discord ? Just need to get some more people chatting in there. I know I have been guilty of just kind of lurking 2-How are you feeling after this eventful weekend in the team? Things should be in good hands, I hope our good friend is ok though 3-What are your expectations for the rest of the season in Mississauga Looking forward to making the playoffs and hopefully a series or two 4-Who in the team should be named captain in your opinion? I don't really have an opinion on the matter, I think I voted for Dodo 5-Do you have a question idea for next week's press conference? No, sorry 6-Is gming something that interest you in the VHL Forum? Not really, my time is pretty limited as I have a newborn at home

It's been an exciting season so far, this being my rookie season in the VHLM for the Mississauga Hounds. The team is off to a fantastic start sitting at 14-4-2 sitting in first place overall. Not sure where the team was expected to finish but it's been a fun ride so far. For the rookie season of Jeff Lewis, he has 10 goals, 11 assists for 21 points in 20 games. I am not sure where that stands for rookies this season as I don't know how to look that up on the site but I am happy with that performance so far. The team is leading the league in goals for with 75 and aren't too bad at goals against as well sitting in the middle of the pack with 57. Miami and Halifax are both also having great seasons and don't sit too far behind Mississauga in the standings in the Eastern Conference so Mississauga will have to keep things going as the season continues. 167 words

1) I like the HC Davos Dynamo logo, saw a mockup of a jersey and thought it looked great 2) AC/DC at Skydome, was forever ago 3) Unfortunately I don't think I have one. 1) Why does everyone need to refer to the Leafs as the Laughs? 2) What is your favourite season of the year? 3) Are you a dog or cat person?

The new season is underway and with it, the career of Jeff Lewis of the Mississauga Hounds. The season kicked off with the Hounds facing the Saskatoon Wild in what ended up a pretty close game with the Hounds prevailing 2-0. Both goals were scored in the first two minutes of the game by BK Whopper and after that, nothing would get by either goalie. Jonny Elgar would pick up the shutout stopping all 35 shots he faced. The Hounds second game was against the San Diego Marlins. Mississauga would have a commanding 4-2 lead headed into the third but the marlins has a very strong third period out shooting the Hounds 12-5 and outscoring them 3-0. The final score would be 5-4 for San Diego. Lewis would be held off the scoreboard for the second game in a row. Next up for the Hounds would be back to back games against the Mexico City Kings with the first game going to a shootout with Mexico City winning the game 4-3. The Kings would jump out to a 2-0 lead in the first period with the Hounds tying it up at 2 after two periods. The third saw the Hounds take a 3-2 lead but Mexico City would tie it up just a couple of minutes later. Lewis would score his first goal in this game and earning third star of the game. In the second game, the Kings would get off to a 2-0 lead again before Mclean Hoover II would score his first goal at 9:29 of the second with an assist going to Jeff Lewis. In the third period the Hounds would add two more goals with Jeff Lewis picking up a second assist and winning the game 3-2. The Hounds currently have a record of 2-1-1 good for 5 points and tied for second with two other teams (Miami Marauders and Philadelphia Reapers) in the early going of the season. Coming up the Hounds have games against the Philadelphia Reapers (2-1-1), Ottawa Lynx (0-4-0) and Saskatoon Wild (1-3-0). While the season is young, it's nice to see the Hounds doing well to start. Also good to see is Jeff Lewis with a goal and two assists in the first four games. He's nervous to start out his career but his team has been very supportive. Jonny Elgar has been outstanding in net. He acknowledges the season is early still but Elgar leads the league in goals against average with a 2.46 and sits in second in the league for save percentage at .921! When asked how he felt so far on his season, Lewis said "The team staff have been fantastic and my teammates are very supportive. We have a younger team and are learning new things everyday so we go out there and give it all we've got". He plans to continue to work hard on his training and plans on focusing on his overall defensive game a little while also working on his shot some more. With this being his first season, Lewis has a lot to learn about the league and other players so there will definitely be an adjustment period but he's learning something new everyday! 535 words

The Junior Showcase Tournament has ended and I am thankful for that. I was generally pretty excited to get things underway and see how I did but when things had to be restarted, so much changed that I lost interest. I am EXTREMELY grateful for those that put in the work for this, don't get me wrong. However, during the restart our team did far worse and I did even worse than that. As someone new, my TPE wasn't the highest so I was barely making 15 minutes per game while some forwards were closing in on 30 minutes a game. As a result, I didn't put up as many points as I had hoped and kind of felt useless. I can only hope that for the next one I have bulked up my TPE some and am able to make a better contribution. A huge thank you to those of you that help put the tournament on. It gives us something to do in the off season and that is very much appreciated! 174 words
