It is getting late into the season schedule now, so let’s take a look at the London United prospect pool.

    Alex Deluca @Deluca

Seems to have disappeared for the last month, just shy of the magic 300TPE mark. Rome has a middling roster with a very lopsided talent curve, so I would expect them to be very interested in getting this player to return for next season.

    Anthony Simmons @Starchychaff

Has been plugging away this season for a very strong Philadelphia squad. Earnings have slowed down significantly, but Vasteras will be glad to have his support next season nonetheless.

    Brad Marchand @McGriddy10

Very similar to Simmons, Marchand has had much less momentum these days, but has had a lot of success on the scoresheet. Hopefully their activity can be revived for Cologne to take advantage of this upcoming talent.

    Devon Giguere @omniscius

Has been an absolute force in net for Houston this season, and will hopefully be continuing to keep this momentum into Vasteras next season.

    Grunkle Stan-dingyouup @Big Newff

They have been showing up exactly long enough to maintain activity in the VHLM, and have been a very solid piece for Houston for some time. Unless the activity increases though, I can’t imagine much VHL upside.

    Marty Byrd @Marty B

Earning at a very reasonable rate in weeks past, but has not been on the site in a couple weeks now. Seems as though he may need a check in soon to make sure that he doesn’t disappear.

    Nick Sansoe @Tipskid97

Picking away at the TPE, he is performing well in a depth role for the Istanbul powerhouse. They will need to work on establishing a build identity for when they get to the VHL. But there is lots of time to work on that in the offseason and the seasons to come.

    Sjin @Sjin

I’m not sure what will happen with this player down the stretch, as this is the end of their dominant VHLM tenure with the San Diego Marlins. Has the TPE to make an appearance with either London or Oslo, so there will be discussions to be had in the offseason.

    Swinsola @Swinsola

After a slower start in Geneva, their offense exploded in Vasteras. They have the opportunity to lead the team forward, and we shall see whether they will return next season to do the same. If they keep picking away and continuing to make good build choices, they’ll be a great player in the VHL.

    Thor Odinson @GoalPlays

Thor Odinson will be joining the London United next season, and will hopefully be able to accrue some more TPE banked up to be a really useful piece for us next season. Really excited to GM this player for a second time, and see what we can do moving forward!

There are a few other players under contract, or with the option of extension heading into the offseason, but until we see some more activity I won’t comment on their development and progression. Having a constant flow of prospects is important for maintaining good cap management and supporting our pieces through the next seasons.

In other news, I just passed 3 years on the site! I’ve been all over the place the last few weeks working on a move to a new apartment, so it will be nice to get settled back into a routine here and keep up with the new and exciting content coming from our great members. I’m also heading up the Scouting division of VSN now, and with new writers coming in to join me I’m excited to see what we can do! We’re going to make a real emphasis on tracking first generation players on their paths to the VHL and giving them the spotlight to shine even compared to the top earning recreates.

    1. I hope to be one of the best defenseman in the league. I’d love to almost double my total from last season
    2. I expect the playoffs and a deep run if the defense can hold up and Clark can be our guy
    3. I want to improve my defensive game and have my offense match what I think it should
    4. Busting your balls about winning
    5. Now that we added some defense, I’d play with any of them. Hoping to light it up with Sjin again
    6. I think with Fonzi moving on, it’s gotta be Sjin

    2. Praying to the simulator gods.
    3. Well we got to take care of business first but it would be fun to see the hounds in the final. We seem to have a friendly rivalry with them.
    4. Hopefully on the scoresheet and helping goat keep the puck out of the net.
    5. BMM in points, Scuba for goals and Fradin may just take the assists or hits.
    6. Big French toast guy.

The first round of the S88 VHLM playoffs went by quickly. Basically everything I predicted came true. All of the contenders quickly swept away their opponents with only one team proving to be a brief challenge. We will review all of the action and highlighting the top performers of both teams. Its is time to paint a playoff picture.

    Mississauga Hounds vrs Miami Marauders
This series went exactly as expected. Miami didn't have enough players and it resulted in a sweep. But Miami didn't go down with out a fight, taking Game 2 into overtime and faling in the next one by only a goal. Leading the way for Miami was left winger Sergei Romanov @WithARevelYell with 3 goals and 1 assist. Also playing a strong supporting role was center Nick Sansoe @Tipskid97. His 4 assist tied him with Romanov in points. Of course  Mississauga was simply overwhelming especially with the brutal 7 - 1 mauling in Game 4. Leading the slaughter was right winger Mclean Hoover II @McLean Hoover. He has been a equal opportunity point producer with 4 goals and assist so far. Supporting this scoring has been defender YaBoi Oven @Doomsday. His 7 assist and lone goal has him tied with Hoover II in points. Mississauga will play Philadelphia in round 2.

    Philadelphia Reapers vrs Halifax 21st
This series is the one that dared to be different. Halifax would get a 3 - 0 win in game one. This would be the exception rather that the rule as Philadelphia would perform the gentleman sweep with a close win in Game 3 and a overtime win in Game 4.  For the 21st, the leading point producer was center Tullemore Dew @Spade18. He went a point per game with 3 goals and two assist. Right behind Dew on points was defender Harjen Van Araken @VaderTheTater. He has produced a goal and 3 assists for 4 points. Leading the way for the rising Reapers was center Anthony Simmons @Starchychaff. His 2 goals and 4 assist lead all Reapers in points. Behind Simmons is six players all at 4 points everyone of which have been impressive so far. Philadelphia will challenge Mississauga in the second round.

Mexico City Kings vrs Las Vegas Aces
The series was rigged from the start for the Aces. They were clearly overwhelmed. They would force Game 3 into overtime but they just  couldn't win that one. Leading  the scoring for the Aces was d defender Juan Ceson @dylanjj37 and center Ronald Johnson MacWallace III @RJMW. Both of the players produced the same stateline of 2 goals and an assist. Right winger Jeremia Barbaslov @Je Barbaslov set the table for the Aces with 3 assist. The Kings ruled this series which included a 9 - 0 conquest in Game 2. Leading the way for the Kings is unsurprisingly left winger Justin Williams @JCV. His 6 goals and 4 assist have him amoung the best in the VHLM. Right winger Carson Walker Jr @Cwalker is  right behind Williams with 4 goals and assist so far. Mexico City will scuffle with San Diego in Round 2.

San Diego Marlins vrs Houston Bulls
This sweep actually surprised me. I had expected Houston to challenge San Diego a bit more. The Bulls would force a triple overtime game that they lost. And while there was no stand out blowout, surf sweeps turf. Leading the heard for the Bulls was defender Tobias Weiss @jfaly. His 2 goals and 4 assist brand him as the best Bull. Fellow D man Eurydyka Sklodowska Dudzinska @diamond_ace followed right behind, going a point a game with 2 goals and assist.  The depth of the Marlins was too much for the Bulls and that shows in the leading scorer. Right winger Baby Moo Moo @Elvis has stepped up producing 4 goals and 3 assist. Behind Moo Moo are Marlins captin center Sjin @Mint and Defender Marty Byrd @Marty B with 6 points each. The Marlins are locked in combat against the Kings for the second round.

And that is my review of round one of S88 VHLM playoffs. No matter if you have won or not, give yourself a pat on the back. I will do a quick preview and prediction of the second round as a supplemental article to be produced later today. That is all I have to say. Good luck everyone.

    1. Our goaltender plus the amount of depth we’ve been able to acquire as the season has progressed.
    2. Gotta go with Fonzi our goaltender. He’s stolen a lot of points for us.
    3. I would have to go with  Shubham Anandon this one. They’ve been quietly killing it.
    4. We might have to push them off the ledge and rip the bandaid off haha. We may need to get some wins. It is a good cure.
    5. The beach, simple as that.
    6. it’s been great so far. I pop in and out once or twice a week and it’s always active. I want to make more of an effort to talk on the discord.

Hello and welcome to the S88 ASG and Skills competition held in Halifax. I would like to congratulate and welcome all of the players who were invited to play in this season's All-Star Game. Tonight we will have five skill competitions allowing every player to compete in one of them. These competitions will be the Fastest Skater Competition, Passing Challenge, Puck Handling Challenge, Hardest Shot Competition, and the Save Streak Challenge. Without further delay, let's get right into the skills competition followed by the two All-Star Games.

    Fastest Skater

The Fastest Skater Competition will allow every competitor one lap around the entire rink. The player with the fastest time will be named the winner. The competitors for the Fastest Skater Competition are Dank Turtle @DankTurtle, Otis Boudreaux Jr @Otis Boudreaux Jr, Tord Yvel @Trazan, Celise Pereira @asteria, Pope Francis @nurx

     Passing Challenge

The Passing Challenge will involve the player passing toward 6 different small targets scattered across the offensive zone. The player will sit at the middle dot and have unlimited chances to hit all 6 targets. The competitors for the Passing Challenge are Viktor Jensen @Advantage, Marty Byrd @Marty B, Leo Lewkowicz @BeanSobie, Lasse Zeigler @jaypc8237, and Robert Boldy @The Goblin

    Puck Handling Challenge

The Puck Handling Challenge will involve the player moving through a variety of obstacles the player with the fastest time through the challenge will be crowned the champion. The competitors for the Puck Handling Challenge are Carson Walker Jr @Cwalker, BK Whopper @Cyrxlian, Trey Jones @Slick, Reginald the Dodo @Esso2264 , Eric Queefson @twists.

    Hardest Shot Competition

The Hardest Shot Competition will consist of all players taking turns shooting 3 shots. The player who shoots the puck hardest into the back of the net will be crowned the Hardest Shot Champion. The competitors for the Hardest Shot Competition are Montgomery Burns @LastOneUp, Sjin @Mint, Tullemore Dew @Spade18, Sergei Romanov @WithARevelYell, Fradin McGryer @Fradin99.

    Save Streak Competition

The Save Streak Competition will have each goalie have a chance to face shooters from the opposite conference. During the first six shots, if the goalie gets scored on they will get more chances. If they get scored on their 7th chance or later, their attempt will end. The competitors for the Save Streak Competition are Olivier Gauthier @fonziGG, Ross Glagau @Zetterberg, Jonny Elgar @Jonny, Boolie Buchholz @Jacob buchholz.

All of the calculations for the ASG Skills competitions can be found here.

It is now time for us to move on to the games. Some interesting storylines to watch as we go into these games are as follows.

    1. The top scorer of the league Tullemore Dew is looking to add more points to his belt in these unofficial games as he plays for the Eastern Conference.
    2. Mississauga looks to show their strength defensively as we expect the Eastern Conference to play the two Hounds D-men on the same pairing.
    3. The Western Conference showing it can score goals as well. The Western Conference has been struggling offensively in terms of scoring leaders as all of the Western Conference teams have been more team focused rather than star focused. This could lead to struggles in scoring and the Western Conference All-Stars are hoping to show the league that they are just as capable of scoring goals as their Eastern Conference competitions.
    4. Pope Francis shot-blocking. Pope Francis has a very comfortable lead in shot blocks, but Halifax also has more shot attempts against them than most teams in the league. That including the Pope plays more minutes than the average D-man leads to the possibility that he simply is getting in the way of shots at an average rate if he were playing for a team that was better defensively.

Without further delay, let's get right into the games!

    Game 1

    Game 2

    1. Not bad, not bad. Almost a point per game player. Hoping to improve and be a good second pairing to compliment Fradin's line.
    2. So far I think it is either Miami or Houston. Seems to be a rivalry there as the games have been close.
    3. I really enjoy San Diego or Key West. Two of my favorite cities I have been to.
    4. Trying to be a killer whale. Fast, smart with killer instinct.
    5. Playing hockey in real life, I also am an avid gamer.
