1. It's huge because wildcard match you'd have to knock off one extra strong team just to really feel like you're in it to begin with. 2. The goaltending see which team has the hotter goalie. 3. Getting on the ice everyday and keeping my head in the game. 4. I think everyone needs to pull together it's not just going to be one person. 5. My wristshot is what has improved the most. 6. I still think there are some trades in the works.

1. It means we'll be playing meaningful games all year and we should be ready for when the games really count. 2. There's still plenty of room for growth this year and for years to come. 3. I have complete faith in our tendie he will be a top goalie this year and more to come. 4. I think our strongest asset at the moment is our elite defense group led by Skor McFleury 5. I'm always down for some poker. 6. I've got nothing planned for this year but hoping to do something some time next year.

with about thirty games played in the season I thought I'd take a look at front runners for the Rookie of the year honors in Season 94. I don't know exactly how the winner is typically chosen so this is all just my own personal feelings on who is in the lead at the moment. 1. Riga Reign - Lucy Leitner - The third overall pick of the season 93 draft is my current pick for the lead of the rookie class for this year. The rearguard for the Riga Reign is averaging 31 minutes a game and has looked incredible on both ends of the ice boasting 26 points in 31 games played with eight goals and eighteen assists has her sitting at 20th in defenseman scoring and is in a four-way tie for 8th in defenseman goals and she has been a huge contributor to Riga's solid start to the season and she should only get better from here. 2. Davos HC - Antonia Bucatini - The first overall pick of the season 93 draft and the unanimous favorite to win this award going into the season, I currently have her sitting just barely behind Leitner in this early part of the season. Although she is not leading the race in my eyes her start has been maybe even better than anyone expected currently sitting 30th in league scoring with 36 points in her 30 games played so far with 14 goals and 22 assists she is averaging 30 minutes a game for a struggling Davos squad who will be looking to add another top prospect in the upcoming draft and I'm sure Bucatini will be working even harder the rest of the way to add another award for her trophy case. 3. Calgary Wranglers - David Slezak - The 20th overall pick from the season 91 draft is the biggest surprise for a lot of people this season, and if I did this list even just a couple of days ago I think he would be number one on this list. He has backstopped Calgary to a solid start that saw them sitting atop the North American conference for the first 20 or so games of the season. Slezak has a 19-10-1 record in 30 games and has a solid 0.920 save percentage and a GAA of 2.73 and has 1 shutout so far. Calgary will need him to continue his solid play if they're going to hold on to a playoff position, and it would not shock me if Slezak moves up this list before the end of the season. for a pair of honorable mentions that will be in the discussion for sure near the end of the year are Gul Dukat of the Toronto Legion who has 2 goals and 19 assists as a solid puck moving defenseman, and Gianfranco Del Rocco who currently has 12 goals and 10 assists for the North American conference leading Seattle Bears. With the majority of the season still to go it's any ones guess who will take home the rookie of the year trophy but I'd wager it will be someone on this list. We're getting into the middle of the season now and will see if these young players can keep up the solid pace that they've had so far.

1. I think it's a good start but I feel like we can move up the standings more. 2. We have some great veteran defensemen for her to learn the ropes from I imagine that's a big help 3. Always pushing a bit harder than yesterday. 4. Read manga or a book 5. Probably Prague just because so far playing there seems more relaxing than let's say in Warsaw or Toronto. 6. It seemed kind've weird that it took so long for the finals to start but now that their here they should finish up around mid June leaving a couple weeks or so to the draft.

The VHL Season is now about two weeks old and some teams have lived up to expectations such as teams like the Seattle Bears and the London United who sit near the top of their respective conferences. There are teams who are pleasantly surprised with how their season has played out so far, the Calgary Wranglers immediately comes to mind in that regard, and of course teams whose start wasn't what they were expecting two teams I would put on that list are the Warsaw Predators and the Vancouver Wolves. Speaking on the Wolves, they were expecting to be near the top of the North American Conference with all the additions they had made prior to the start of the season as well as with the progression of their rookies from the previous season. Of course not everything goes as well as it is written on the whiteboard and the team found itself struggling in the early days of the season, so much so they decided to shake things up early on. They would come to an agreement with the Riga Reign that would see them acquire forward Martin Kemp, and top center prospect Pierre Marc Bouchard as well as a season 96 third-round pick. Martin Kemp seems to have immediately meshed with the team putting up seven goals and eleven points in just ten games since arriving and is helping Vancouver push their way up the standings. In order to make this deal, the Wolves had to move veteran forward The Frenchman as well as rookie right winger Annie Oaks with the addition of a season 95 Calgary second-round pick. While The Frenchman was performing well for Vancouver with five goals and twelve points in thirteen games played Oaks seemed to struggle in that time only scoring two points in the same amount of games and with this being Frenchman's final season maybe they thought they'd go younger while still maintaining a strong roster for this season. Speaking on the play of the players that Riga acquired in this deal so far The Frenchman has put up four goals and six points in the ten games since joining the team and Annie Oaks has scored three goals and five points in those same games while getting used to playing a lesser role on a third line playing about nine minutes a game. It's safe to assume that after a great offseason for Oaks that saw her tear up the World Juniors while winning gold for team Europe that she would have a better start to her VHL career but it seems her VHLE struggles will follow her into the top league. Riga itself like Vancouver made some big moves this offseason hoping to compete around rookie sensation Lucy Leitner picking up notable talents such as Skor and Oreo McFleury as well as Sadie St-Louis and sit just outside the top three teams in the European Conference. With the addition of a veteran leader such as The Frenchman Riga is hoping to move up the standings to solidify their position early in the year.

1. As of today I am here. My player is Annie Oaks and I'd like a weekly presser if possible. 2. I just arrived so there's going to be even more meshing now. 3. It's tough to say, but hopefully I can contribute positively to the future of the club. 4. At that pace I can't see any reason he can't reach 50. 5. I don't have a lot of expectations for this year just hoping to help out however I can. 6. McDavid and Draisaitl look unstoppable, I though it would be Dallas to be honest. But I think Florida grinds them down and gets their first cup.

maybe I'm wrong but I've seen so many articles regarding Antonia Bucatini as a "He" but I'm pretty sure it's a female player guess you'd have to ask @CowboyinAmericato be absolutely certain. -
World Juniors Team Europe Round Robin Recap. In the first game of the World Juniors Championship round robin for Europe we would see a nail biter of a game between them and team Canada it would end 5-4 for Team Canada being led by a three goal one assist performance by Nathan Ecker. On the other side we Europe had solid performances from Annie Oaks putting up two goals and Dan Jr who put up the other two goals for Team Europe. After dropping game one of the tournament Europe would then have to put it behind them and look to their next match. Game two would see team Europe and team World go head to head Europe would get a huge performance from goaltender David Slezak who would stop 42 of 44 shots. Annie Oaks would put up another two goals with Vanuza Kolesinka, Antonia Bucatini, and Scrungle Bungle each adding one goal to give Europe to give them a 5-2 victory for their first win of the tournament. Piston Maicupp and Taylor Swift were the goal scorers for team World with goalie Jorgen Lovstrom stopping 46 of 51 shots. Europe will be looking to build momentum off this big win. Game three would see Canada and Europe rematch, Europe would out score Canada in the first period two to one with goals coming from Maverick Goncalves and Antonia Bucatini with Wayne Gretzky scoring Canada's goal. There would be no scoring in the middle frame and then The Phantom of the VHL would score an insurance goal for team Europe midway through the third period to give them the two goal lead. Aleksanteri Kaskiniemi-Kekkonen would stop 30 out of 31 shots to help them to a 3-1 win. Herald Benson was stellar in the loss for Canada stopping 50-53 shots but Canada couldn't get the offense they needed and Europe gets revenge for game one. Game four was Europe agains team USA each team would put up two goals in the first period to go into the second tied but Phil Taylor and Vanuza Kolesinka would each add a goal in the second for team Europe to propel them to a 4-2 win over USA improving their record to 3-1 in the round robin and looking to keep their win streak alive. Game five would see Europe go up against team World and they would get six goals from five different players in this game that would help them to a big 6-3 win keeping their win streak alive at four games. In game six team Europes top line would dominate scoring three of their four goals in the 4-3 win over team Asia. Maverick Goncalves would lead the way putting up three points while Annie Oaks and Antonia Bucatini would each add a goal and an assist for Europe to improve their win streak to five games. Game seven is a rematch of last game and it's the same story just with better defense for Europe each member of the top line for Europe would score a goal and add an assist helping their squad to a 4-1 win over team Asia for their sixth win in a row. Game eight and the final game of round robin play would see Europe match up with team USA this would be a tight game that would be won 2-1 with Annie Oaks eighth goal of the tournemant to improve their win streak to seven to end round robin play.

The Vancouver Wolves Training camp took place earlier this week and it saw some returning players but also an influx of new talent. The Wolves were busy over the offseason looking to add and compete now. The first trade they made ahead of the draft was to add one of if not the best defenseman in the league in Mark Calaway from the D.C. Dragons they sent a first, second, and third, in season 95 as well as a third for this years draft to get the deal done. The next day they would be a part of a three way trade that would see Malmo Acquire Vlad Von Carstein and Helsinki would recieve Ocean Codoller, Mikko Borisyuk, A season 96 second and a season 94 third. Vancouver would pick up Owen Lazaro to help up out front getting the best player in the deal. Up next Vancouver would make another deal with D.C. getting star forward The Frenchman for young defenseman DB IV and a Season 96 second and third. A few days later Vancouver would make one last trade sending a season 96 first and a season 94 third to Prague in exchange for a season 95 second and forward Rip Wheeler to round out the forward group. A couple other changes to the roster we'll see Annie Oaks suit up for her first season with the Wolves and Left Alone will be trying his hand at playing on the blueline for the club. With all of the additions this team is expected to be a top team in the league it should be an exciting year in Vancouver.

1. No I wasn't able to watch it live, I think adding a defenseman was really good, don't know about this goalie though. 2. I think once Soju's rookie contract is up one of the two will be traded. 3. I think he's okay with playing elsewhere otherwise he likely would've tanked his interviews better. 4. I took part in it, and it was wild I fought in almost every game and I think in the first game I played in we won 13-9 and all 9 goals for the other team were scored by one player. 5. I don't know maybe find some way to include aggregate scoring in the playoffs. 6. I'm playing for team Europe We have a few members who will be involved so I'll enjoy seeing how we all do. -

1. As I've not been here for very long I've done all my stuff at my desktop so far. 2. I haven't watched wrestling since the early 2000's. The trade makes our blueline elite. 3. Three way trades are always awesome, with an add like this we should have one of the best rosters this year. 4. With all these adds it's postseason or bust 5. As I never got to play with any of them I don't have on I'll miss the most 6. I have no idea and I don't really plan on speculating. -

In the Cologne Locker room Annie Oaks quietly packs her stuff up before going to speak with the Cologne media one final time before moving on. One reporter asks: "How do you feel your season was here in Cologne" Annie: "I feel like I did alot of things right this year and worked on some aspects of my game that needed some work. However I would be lying if I said I was happy with my year, so I'm going to continue to work through the off season in order to improve and have the best season I can this upcoming year." Reporter asks: "any comments on how the psotseason went this year" Annie: "We had a very tough opponent in round one and it was a tight series all the way. That being said the expectation was to win the cup and we didn't do that so we failed to meet what was expected of us, the fans deserved a cup and we couldn't deliver." Reporter asks: "how do you feel about the teams chances in the upcoming season." Annie: "The roster shouldn't be changing much and so I suspect that Cologne will once again be a top team in the league. I would even say I think they'll be the favorite to win the cup next year." Reporter says: "do you have any last things you'd like to say to the fans of Cologne before you leave for Vancouver" Annie: "I'd like to thank the fans for supporting us all year and coming out to all the games making the environment in that Cologne arena one of the best places I've played yet. I hope you will continue to cheer on your team and have your cheers rewarded with a cup as soon as possible."

The VHLE playoffs are now over and with the winner now decided as the Oslo Strom defeat the Vasteras Iron Eagles in the finals we can now look forward to the future. Plenty of young players will be able to say that their next season will be their final rookie season as the promoted the their respective VHL clubs. The odds on Favorite to have the biggest impact in their first year would have to be the previous first overall selection: Antonia Bucatini she will be suiting up for The Davos Dynamo HC who is coming off another weak year with a high selection in the upcoming draft imminent. She will likely be able to play a big role on this rebuilding franchise coming of a Renaissance Cup win with the Oslo Storm will have Bucatini riding high on a wave of momentum as she tries to win best rookie in her inaugural season. Another notable player coming up will be Gianfranco Del Rocco who was selected second overall and has the best odds of challenging Bucatini for top rookie. Del Rocco will be joining the Continental Cup champion Seattle Bears and as such a competitive team will be his home could likely mean he will have solid line mates to help him score loads of points to earn himself top rookie honors. Leitner the top defenseman taken in the draft at third overall who will be rear guarding for the Riga Reign this upcoming season after going to the Renaissance Cup finals with Vasteras and losing to Oslo she will be looking ahead to be ready to compete at the highest level of the sport. Leitner has been a very effective defenseman at every level so far and should have a solid rookie season for Riga whose roster is rounding out quite well and will be looking to have a competetive year. The fourth overall pick of last years draft was Annie Oaks who seemed to struggle with the jump into the VHLE only able to score 36 points over the regular season however did put up three goals and four points in six playoff games. She will be looking to embark on a successful career in the VHL with the Vancouver Wolves but it may take a little bit of time for her to really find her feet in the highest level she will have played in yet. At fifth overall the Chicago Phoenix selected the Irish winger Ughsike who had a solid year in the VHLE with the Renaissance Cup champion Oslo Storm he will be joining a competitive Chicago team that will be fighting for a playoff spot this coming season but with lots of teams looking to take the next step it will be a hard fought journey that Chicago is hoping Ughsike will be that extra piece needed to push them into the playoffs. Next up to look at is Forum Content who will be joining Bucatini and Davos this upcoming season a sixth overall pick Content has always been known for his great puck handling abilities, however over his time in the VHLE seems to have worked really hard on becoming an elite passer and will be looking to setup his teammates rather than shoot Davos will have three rookies suiting up for them and Content should have a decent amount of ice time there unlike his start in the VHLE where his playtime was limited in Cologne before being traded. Benjamin Abenduct who was selected ninth overall by the Moscow Menace was the second defenseman selected in his draft class he too is yet another part of that cup champion Oslo team graduating to the big leagues. Abenduct is a smooth skating two way defense man who loves having the puck on his stick and is adept at taking it from his opponents, he will be the fifth defenseman on a strong looking Moscow team and should be given plenty of opportunity to grow into an elite defenseman for that Moscow squad. Of the top ten picks of last years drafts those are all the players who are currently slated to begin with their respective VHL clubs however it's worth mentioning that the likes of Jorgen Lovstrom and Nathan Ecker who were selected at seventh and tenth by Malmo and Seattle respectively will likely earn a spot out of camp as well.

1. Seeing as how I'm later to answer this and the series is over. I will pick season is thrown out and no one wins. 2. Daryl Dixon 3. I can't say that I do. 4. I didn't watch the VHLM at all I'm afraid. 5. Oslo's Offense has allowed them to dominate Vasteras. 6. The team is in such a good spot right now you could do almost anything with it including entertaining trade offers. -

1. Liv Slater for having a great year on the back end. 2. Dalkr Vidarsson Despite not having a winning record he put up good individual numbers. 3. My pick is Logan Ninefingers 32 goals and over 60 points as a rookie is a great start to a career. 4. I would guess Liv Slater she had a great year. 5. Best defenseman for sure. 6. More growth from all the players. -

1. It's not typically good form to cheer for someone else's misery... But in this case I make an exception. 2. I'd say Pittsburgh they really blew it but then again near the end of the year it seemed like all the wild card fighting teams seemed like they didn't want to win. 3. Of course following the league and seeing which teams I'm going to be up against next season is exciting. 4. Everyone loves a good center so I say it's @Gaikoku-hitos player 5. People should wear whatever they feel like... As long as it is within the law of course. 6. You can lift someones spirits however you cannot physically throw them. Unless in that case you're referring to alcohol. -
Cologne Express final week. With only six games left in the regular season we're going to take a quick look at the outlook for the Cologne Express. As it stands Cologne currently holds the second best offense with 216 goals for while maintaining the second best defense as well with 151 goals against. This gives them the best goal differential in the league at +65. Now for a quick look at some the cast of characters that have made these numbers possible. First up we have to look at the goaltending in this regard their goalie Clark has been outstainding with a 0.936 save percentage and a 1.94 Goals Against Average Clark makes sure his team always has a chance to win and is a big reason for that stellar Goals against stat. As for the offense it is lead by BjorkaBjorn BjornaBjorkson he is among the top scorers in the league and has contributed with 33 goals and 47 assists in the 66 games played so far. His elite puckhandling ability combined with his wicked shot is what makes him so effective. The teams highest contributing centre is Alexandros Mograine who has tallied 25 goals and 48 assists his solid defensive abilities make him an elite two way centre who contributes all over the ice. On the blue line they have recently added Defensman Gul Dukat who has a total of 18 goals and 51 assists and is hoping to hold on to his slim defensman scoring lead over teammate Joseph Dubois and rival Benjamin Abenduct. It's going to be a hard fought race for first place in the league over the last few games and should be exciting to watch.

1. John Jameson, he's tearing it up 2. Lachlan Summers from Warsaw 3. I'm going with a nice big bowl of Pho 1. How confident are you in your playoff bracket predictions? 2. Is your team in the playoffs this year? If not who are you rooting for? 3. What's your go to hype up song?

With every team in all leagues having fewer than ten games remaining on the regular season the seeding for playoffs are beginning to take shape, however there are some close races to close out the regular season. In the VHL North American Conference the Toronto Legion hold a seven point lead over second place and are likely to have the top seed the real fight here is for the 5th spot which the Chicago Phoenix hold with 64 points behind them is the Calgary Wranglers with 60 points and then at 56 points we have the Vancouver Wolves who aren't statistically eliminated just yet, Chicago has played one fewer game then the other two teams so they just have to do their best to stay steady to hold on. In the European Conference the top five are more or less set all that the is left is to jockey for seeding, Both London and Malmo sit at 90 points for top spot however Malmo has played two fewer games. The next three teams are all within three points of each other Prague Phantoms, ( 84 ) Warsaw Predators, ( 83 ) and the Moscow Menace ( 81 ) These three teams will battle it out down the stretch to try and get the best matchup they can. In the VHLE Cologne currently leads the league with 94 points and is on a six game winning streak with the last two of those against third place Vasteras. The Oslo Storm sit five points back at 89 points but have played one fewer game they will be trying to use their elite offense to overtake them. At third with 85 points is the Vasteras Iron Eagles who most people seemed to think at the onset of the season would lead this league, maybe they're saving their best hockey for when it matters most. And then currently holding fourth place with a nine point lead on fifth is the Stockholm Vikings who has really been lead by stellar goaltending this year, they will be hoping said goaltending can steal a couple of series. Then in the VHLM our number one team is the only one in any league that has broken the century mark so far this season. The Ottawa Lynx sit atop the league with 102 points they have an eight point lead over the Halifax 21st who sit at 94 points then ten points behind them we have a dogfight for third between Saskatoon ( 84 points ) and Houston ( 82 points ) the Las Vegas Aces sit in fifth with 76 points and then battling it out for sixth is Philadelphia ( 66 points ) and Mississauga ( 65 points ) and then in eight place and the final playoff spot is Mexico City at 52 points they're twelve points ahead of ninth so should feel confident that they can cruise into the dance. In summary each league has one or two interesting battles for seeding to close out the year with the most interesting to me being the Malmo and London for the top of the European Conference. It should be a fun end to the season.

A big Trade As we're closing in on the trade deadline the Cologne Express have made a big move in trading for the top scoring defenseman Gul Dukat from the Rome Gladiators. The trade saw Cologne send Billy Joel and Taylor Swift over to Rome with the aforementioned Gul Dukat @MSouthworthand a S94 Rome fourth round pick. At the time of the trade Gul Dukat had an impressive 12 goals and 39 assists for 51 points in 40 games played with Rome, He has since played his first ten games as a member of the Cologne Express and in those game he scored 1 goal and 5 assists for 6 points. Cologne currently sit atop the standings but their point lead over Vasteras has dropped to only 1 point as they have dropped quite a few games this week as they have been giving their backup his starts for the season. With Clark coming back in to finish the year they will be looking to build their lead back up as we approach the playoffs. It should be a tight race down the stretch and placement for playoff seeding could really come down to the wire especially with Oslo just 4 points back as well, it should be an exciting finish.
