The VHLM Playoffs are upon us we've now arrived at the most exciting time of year, playoff hockey and there are plenty of exciting matchups to look forward to this year in round one. First up we have the regular season champ Philadelphia Reapers versus defending cup champ Saskatoon Wild who will be looking to upset the seasons biggest winners then we have a showcase of offensive firepower in the Las Vegas Aces versus the Ottawa Lynx which should see a lot of goals piled up. Then it's the Mexico City Kings versus the Miami Marauders which should be a close battle. And lastly the matchup I think is the most exciting is the San Diego Marlins versus the Houston Bulls, in all honesty I think that would be a great finals match and we get to watch it in round one and that means one of these teams of stars will be going home early. My picks for winners of each series is as follows: Philadelphia will defeat Saskatoon but not before they make it a close series, Vegas' offensive depth will be too much for Ottawa to handle and they'll move on, Miami will defeat the higher seeded Kings with big contributions from deadline acquisitions Forum Content @frescoelmo and Ughsike @UghSike, and lastly the Houston Bulls will pull out a victory over San Diego in an absolute slobberknocker of a series. 1. I heard their kicker was planning to leave so I guess replacing him 2. Speaking from just my time in the VHLM I think goalie if you look at philly I feel like they dominated this season based on goaltending 3. Job for a Cowboy and Whitechapel I find really help me out if I'm stressed ----- 1. Do you think that Ovechkin can beat the goals record? 2. Who is your favorite active player, and who is your all time favorite player in the NHL 3. How many more times before seasons end do the Leafs cancel and then reschedule the Stanley cup Parade?

I can't speak for other GMs but @Ricer13 was always asking me if I wanted to be traded or not and I'm sure he reached out to his other players about it too.

Saskatoon made two big trades the night before the trade deadline showing that they're interested in looking to the future rather then attempting to make a dark horse run this year. The first of the two trades was with the Miami Marauders which looked something like this. Miami Receives LW-Forum Content GP: 52 G:30 A:53 P:83 @frescoelmo LW-UghSike GP: 52 G:20 A:26 P:46 @UghSike Saskatoon Receives RW-Leon Bruhmaninho GP:52 G:15 A:35 P:50 @BigBruhman S93 Miami 1st round pick S94 Miami 2nd round pick This trade makes Miami look like a team to beat going down the stretch but not being done with just that they made another trade with their western conference rival Las Vegas Aces as the Aces looked to bolster their already powerful offense. Las Vegas receives RW-Annie Oaks GP:52 G:31 A:33 P:64 @Noodle Enjoyer S93 Saskatoon 6th round pick Saskatoon receives D-Masa Akimoto GP:48 G:5 A:18 P:23 @Hokikeijot S93 Las Vegas 2nd round pick S93 Las Vegas 3rd round pick We managed to catch up with Annie to ask her what were her thoughts on the move and how she felt about her time in Saskatoon. "I've had a blast playing here in Saskatoon for a great management team and some incredible teammates. But I'm entering a new leg of my journey and am excited to play hockey in the USA for the first time in my career, I'm hoping to score early and often in Vegas!" We also got a quick quote from Las Vegas GM @McLovinand he had this to say about the deal "We're one of the best offensive teams in the league right now, so adding Annie Oaks is only going to make scoring goals easier. I can't wait to see what they do in an Aces sweater." It remains to be seen if any other deals will be made in the ten hours remaining before the trade deadline (as of posting this) but these two trades may upset the power balance in the league. Saskatoon will be looking to build a future contender for the next few seasons with the haul of picks and two young players they've acquired and this appears to be a good deal for everyone involved. Open Press Conference for Any Player
Noodle Enjoyer replied to LucyXpher's topic in Player Press Conferences
1. She-Wolf by Megadeth just because it's one of my favorite songs. 2. watching a Habs game with my dad 3. I chose number 11 because of my favorite player since I was young Saku Koivu 4. Antonia Bucatini @CowboyinAmerica could you imagine adding her to our top line with Forum Content it would be unreal 5. I'm not much of a reader outside of manga so I'd take my favorite movie I guess The Last Samurai 6. The ability to instantly learn a language would be pretty amazing- 18 replies

Midseason standings update and trade deadline thoughts. Now that we are midway through the season and the trade deadline is fast approaching we're going to take a quick look at the standings and give our thoughts on how things will play out. Currently the Philadelphia Reapers are leading the league with a 7 point cushion over 2nd place San Diego, but right behind them is Las Vegas with Miami, Houston, and Mexico right behind them. So out of these 7 teams I could see anyone of them pushing for top spot by seasons end especially depending on if they pick up a much needed piece or two at the deadline. The bottom four teams are in descending order the Ottawa Lynx, Halifax 21st, Saskatoon Wild, and the Missisauga Hounds these three teams have some very nice pieces though and could likely move some to look towards next year as there is likely not much chance of a deep run even though two of these teams will clinch the final two playoff spots. They however have some players that I'm sure teams are asking about let's look at one from each roster. Ottawa Lynx - Ivan Ivanov - @KmaddFPS Halifax 21st - Antonia Bucatini - @CowboyinAmerica Saskatoon Wild - Forum Content - @frescoelmo Missisauga Hounds - Wernher von Braun - @Prof. Zach Enron there are other notable players on each team too but these are the ones that jump out at us when we look, each of these players would be a huge shot in the arm for a team looking to go all the way this year. The question remains if the bottom four teams want to give up on this year or try to be a dark horse in playoffs though. Either way the final weeks of the season will be exciting as this close race for top spot winds down, we expect it to be one to three points separating first and second this year. 1. The guy is just so all around good, it's not just one skill he has he can do everything at high level. 2. That's a tough ask but if he puts in the work I don't see why not. 3. my last couple days weren't up to my standards but overall I'm fairly happy with my year thus far. 4. I'll do whatever the GM asks of me, if he thinks the best option for the team is to move players for pieces for the future I'll gladly help the team in that way. But I'm also fine with fighting it out the rest of the way this year too. 5. Well I would like to be able to say scoring a Hattrick but as that hasn't happened just yet, maybe the most memorable thing is the sudden GM change mid season. 6. I think once the playoffs start the team to beat will be either the Las Vegas Aces or the Houston Bulls, the Aces have a strong team now but with the way the Bulls are growing as the season moves on they'll be my favorites to win the cup this year.

VHLM All-Stars Skill Competition as Lucyxpher has done an all-stars team lineup I thought it might be nice to do a skills competition lineup and see which players in the all-star game would compete in which events. I'm going to pick 4 skaters ( 2 from each conference) for each event based on stats I think would make them strong in their respective events. During the following events a online poll will be taking place to select 10 players 5 from each team for a breakaway challenge where the winner would be chosen by fan votes. Fastest Skater: In the fastest skater competition we would see these players vying for the title of best wheels. For the Western Conference: Houston Bulls - Lucy Leitner Houston Bulls - Benjamin Abenduct For the Eastern Conference: Ottawa Lynx - Ivan Ivanov Philadelphia Reapers - Enn Jinn Passing Challenge: These are the players who would be try to gain the title of apple master. Western Conference: Saskatoon Wild - Forum Content Las Vegas Aces - Stinky Eastern Conference: Missisauga Hounds - Wernher von Braun Philadelphia Reapers - Yermolai Nabokov Hardest shot competition: In line to see who has the best howitzer of a slap shot we will see these talented all-stars Western Conference: Houston Bulls - Trimiskez Artav Las Vegas Aces - Ella Aura Ashe Eastern Conference: Halifax 21st - Antonia Bucatini Miami Marauders - Matthew Highmore Accuracy shooting competition: Last up for skater competition we will look to find out who is the best sniper in this years All-Star crop. Western Conference: San Diego Marlins - Jean-Pierre Devote Saskatoon Wild - Annie Oaks Eastern Conference: Halifax 21st - Aanarsi Reingaard Ottawa Lynx - Wayne Shotzky and for a final event we will have a save streak challenge for the goalies with the remaining players without an event taking the shots for their respective sides. The goalies will have two chances each at setting the highest save streak they can, each tendie will get a chance to try and pickup a win for their team in this event. Going over each event individually we're going to try and predict the winners and explain why we think this. Fastest Skater: We firmly believe that the winner of this event will be Lucy Leitner, she really flys out on the ice in a way we haven't seen in some time. We're not even sure if she touches the ice when she's skating or just glides over top of it. Passing Challenge: In this one we think the winner will be Wernher von Braun, although they may not have put up the same numbers as stars like Forum Content so far this year we think that's mostly due to the lack of depth on their teams roster. Hardest shot competition: In this event we think that Antonia Bucatini is going to come out on top, her strength and solid slapshot is what makes her the favorite to win this event. That being said I wouldn't be surprised if it was a close match between her and Ella Aura Ashe for this one. Accuracy Shooting event: In this event we just can't bet against goal scoring leader Jean-Pierre Devote he has been sniping all year and he won't stop here. But again this will be a close finish between him and the offensively gifted Aanarsi Reingard, we could see some incredible times set in this event this year. Save Streak Challenge: This one may be the toughest one to predict who will win, but based on how dialed in all year he's been we have to say we believe Jorgen Lovstrom is going to pull this one out. He has looked absolutely amazing all season and is tough to beat one on one. so if you've been keeping track that's 3 wins for the eastern conference to 2 for the west but you never know how things will turn out. The most important thing is that these All-Stars do their best to put on a great show for their fans. This has been Sammy Samsquanch for Saskatoon Sports Monthly.

With having lost 6 games in a row the Saskatoon Wild are in a complete tailspin and makes one wonder if they can get the season back on track. To top it off GM. @Berockahas had to step away for the time being so now interim GM @Ricer13 has come in to take over. So far he has been busy adding players to the via Waivers trying to inject new life into a team that can't seem to keep pace in a very strong western conference. Despite the fact they can't pick up wins star player Forum Content scoring pace still tops the league so if the team can find some way to keep more pucks out of their net they might just start to pile up some wins. Our only concern is even if they begin to turn it around they may have a dug hole to deep for them to climb out of. That western conference is full of killers and trying to catch up to any of them from this far behind might just be impossible, but ours hopes and the hopes of the fans of Saskatoon are riding on them getting out of their funk. This has been Samuel Weed with the Saskatoon Sports Tribune.

1. it's probably been our lack of a balanced roster. 2. I'd probably say @frescoelmo is the reason for that. 3. My player is from the UK. 4. I'm a pretty big fan of cookies in general. 5. Can't stand people in sandals and socks. 6. Yes, this is my first time here.
