Incredible to believe it’s been 15 years. Life was so different back then. So was the league. It’s been amazing to watch the evolution of this league and grow along with the members here. fuck ya, VHL… fuck ya

Phil Strasmore has been sidelined over the weekend. Surprisingly, it’s not because he’s been playing poorly and therefore has been benched, but rather, he’s contracted COVID-19. It is uncertain where and from whom he contracted it from. On Friday evening he came down with semi serious symptoms. He has been told to self isolate for a minimum of 5 days. This means he will not travel with his team for their road games. Strasmore was acquired at the deadline by Houston from SAN Diego. The hope was that he would fill the gap in defense and deepen the squad. So far the former football professional has demonstrated that he can play hockey at the minor level, but will he continue to develop to a point where he can perform at the pro level of the coveted VHL. “we wish Stras a speedy recovery,” Phil Knight, his player agent said in a press conference last night.

1. Although we had a slow first couple sims, we've been winning games since. What do you think is the reason for our upturn of winning? The season started!? Oh crap! I'm delayed because I haven't had a day off since June 18 lol. As long as we all stay active - we are golden. Not worried at all! 2. What is the best thing you ate/drank this week? Actually just this morning I made myself a delicious pot of espresso. Other than that - Roast Lamb for food. Jamie Oliver recipe with mint sauce. It was Devine. 3. The NHL Entry Draft is this week, do you plan on watching it? I do not. I wish I had the free time to do it. Also I'm a Leaf's fan - so everything is pretty much futile lol 4. Where is one place you'd love to travel to? Hawaii. Not only because of my connections to Dwayne Johnson, or the movie forgetting sarah marshall, but it just looks splendid. 5. What is one thing about the VHL that has confused you? The salary brackets - mostly because I have never ever once looked at them, and I've been in the league for over a decade. 6. What is another hobby that you have? Music. I love it. I'm a lyric king. It's kind of nuts how I can retain lyrics. I used to play the piano a lot and was just good enough to play whatever song I felt like playing. Right now as I type this I am listening to some Pop Punk - Dangeous Summer new(ish) single - Fuck Them All... maybe on the next episode of Sass with Stras I'll use it as the intro/outro song.

In my mind, summer is a time to relax a little more and enjoy the kinder weather. However, this has not been possible for Phil Strasmore's agent, Phil Knight. Summer is his busiest time where he deals with all of his clients and because he is a corporal for punishment, all of his contracts begin on the same day. However, Phil Strasmore is not letting his hair down either. He still needs to put in the hard work to prove that he is up for the VHLm and then the VHL. The Marlins recently put faith in him and selected him 4th overall in the draft - much higher than the 10th he was projected to go my members of the VHL Media. So now it's time to bear down and prove to everyone that he will be a defensive force in this league. He's got miles to go in front of him but if he sticks to the path, he should be able to navigate any obstacles that befall him. "I am super excited at the prospect of this challenging road ahead of me", Strasmore said. "I have never been one to back down to a challenge and although my injuries tore me out of football, I've been given a second wind in being able to play hockey professional. I am thankful for that every single day"
