Kachur 112
Helsinki Titans draft recap. The first pick in the draft for any team is important and usually gives you an idea of how the team will look and what direction they will take in remining draft. It is a place to get the core future for you team years down the road. It is a place to secure your spot on the top with the best of the best. It is the place to fill a much-needed Roster spot. To the Titans it is a place to look forward and too the future of the Organization. With only four picks in the Season 77 Entry draft the Helsinki Titans had to be very selective and careful about who they brought to Finland. Let us find out the four players to be selected by the Titans 9th Overall - Aurelian Moreau - Defense. (@Frank) a powerhouse on the Mississauga Hounds, Moreau was one of top Defensive prospects on the team. When the puck hits his stick, his eyes are always looking forward to see who he can pass it to. This has caused him to net himself 46 Assists and 60 overall points in Season 76. His locker room presence was one the younger players gravitated too, and he was the main locker room leader. It makes sense that Helsinki would draft him to replace the retired Erik Summers. The blueprint of what the Titans will be looking for on Defense.Grade: B 12th Overall - Gustislav Nasherov - Right Wing (@Vat) Right away on first glance there is nothing exciting about Nasherov. Until you watch film on him, and you see a seventeen-year-old Right Winger who does it all. Another Assist Heavy player with 14 on the season for 16 points, mind you he was on a stacked Mexico City Team. His eyes always looking forward and looking for the pass. A tool player that can fit anywhere on the ice and fills many boxes if you are a General Manager. At such a young age his Ceiling is so far away. The prospect of a player like Nasherov is exciting for what is to come a year or two down the line. Look for him to be tearing up the league and making a bid for the Hall of Fame when he finally Decides to hang up the Skates.Grade: B+ 36th Overall - Elvis Michael – Defense (@ATST) Yet another Defender drafted at 36th. Not one many would write home about, slipping under the radar of many of the teams. Except Helsinki knew what they had in Elvis, knew what they could make him, so they prayed he fell, and he did. Netting himself 18 points on a weaker Mississauga Hounds team where he was the #2 defender. After being traded 3 times in a week and switching positions Elvis finally hit his stride late into the season trying to help the hounds get into the playoffs. His drive to be the nest and wanting to be the best is why he was drafted. He is a team guy who will do anything he must to help his team win, even if it means being cut. The upside with Michael is he is still young enough to mold into whatever the titans need.Grade: C 56th Overall - Bryn Yrwy – Center (@dylanjj37) Finally we come to Yrwy. A player that again many people wrote off, however the young Center netted 15 points on a strong Mexico team. A player that showed he can fit into any line and work well with the line. His greatest asset is his Defensive play. For a Center he shut down a lot of players. His keen mind helped him make smart plays putting himself in the right situation to help the team win. His hands are also another weapon that was intriguing to the Titans. Most of his points are assists again. Therefore, the Titans grabbed him in their final pick. Hoping he turns into a future Cornerstone of the team and a future champion. The Sky is the limit for YrwyGrade: C we caught up with General Manager Julian Borwinn to get his thoughts on the draft and all the players he picked up as well as the direction and future of the Helsinki Titans. “We went in with our short list and a goal to strengthen our defensive futures. Grabbing Moreau at 9 was the first steal of the evening. A pro ready defender whose agent has been around the community for an exceptionally long time and has a storied history. Next, we had our sights set on winger Gustislav Nasherov who we had been keeping a close eye on. Hall of fame potential at pick 12? Yes please. Following that we did not pick until 36 but our aim should we have had a 2nd was defender Elvis Michael, and by the grace of the hockey gods he fell to 36. At this point I was seriously on cloud 9. Another long-time player agent who joined the community back in season 3! Lastly in the 4th round we brought in center Bryn Yrwy who we see as a player who can rise like a phoenix and dawn the Titan crest soon.” The future of the Titans Organization looks bright. Adding four new and young players along side the core and veteran players. The excitement has already been felt in Helsinki as the prospects entered their future locker room to mingle with players and connected instantly. Making the Chemistry of the team one of a Championship Caliber squad already. Between this and last draft I feel this one brought in more Core needs and overall was a better outing for the powder blues. Every one of the new draftees is excited to be on the team. Each one of the new players bring a skill that will only make them more dangerous as the years go on. Overall, I think I would give the Season 77 Draft for the Helsinki Titans a rating of B-. Prout 373
Review; great media spot. I enjoyed the grading and pictures for each players. I would personally stay away from yellow unless your on like dark mode cause it is harder to read. Good overall format I liked the Helsinki picture add as well 8/10 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/100859-titans-draft-recap/#findComment-832720 Share on other sites
Gaming Ringleader 246
Good spot, For the Yellow font on a white page is not the best to see or read without highliting it. Other than that the read was solid, I liked how you gave them all letter grades but great work overall just change up the yellow text! 8.5/10 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/100859-titans-draft-recap/#findComment-833109 Share on other sites
