bigAL 2,176
Ooooh, numbers!! How do these five national teams stack up in terms of TPA? Methodology: TPA matters here. Normally raw TPE is enough, but with the caps in place, TPA is the main indicator of skill. Due to the offseason timing of the tournament, VHLMers who exceed the 250 TPE cap will not have time to update beyond 250 TPA until the season rolls over. VHLers who exceed 350 TPE will be rolled back to their 350 build. Canada is hoping that their high-end D talent can make up for the lack of depth on the back end. Canada's deep forward corps and secondary scoring will be their key to winning. Expect LW Brendan Telker to lead the team in points playing with GreenGaming and The Seabasstard. Tater Tot in goal has a distinct advantage: Canada is one of three teams with a VHL goalie. Europe is, as always, a strong contender. Team Europe is led up front by two Christian Stolzschweiger favourites in Paul Atreides and Duncan Idaho. With a powerful second line led by That Dude and Druss Deathwalker, Europe packs a 1-2 punch that all opposing defensive pairs should be afraid of. Europe also benefits from the experience of Aksu Maronen in goal. Team USA is the youngest team in the tournament, and only one of two without a capped VHL player leading the charge. The depth of serviceable VHLMers up front is the biggest asset the Americans have. The thin defensive line is buoyed by one of the strongest goalers in the tournament, Matthew A Sovick Jr. Team Greenland World presents the strongest, most balanced roster of the tournament. Led by the Reinharts and Zedayno Chara, the three VHL vets expect to teach the capped VHLMers how to play like pros and get them ready for WJC and the VHL. World has by far the strongest D team in the tournament, with three of four players essentially at the maximum 350 build. The biggest question is in net: how will capped VHLMer ClapbombsRUs stack up against the VHL goalies? Team Asia doesn't have any max build players. With only three players above 250 (all forwards) and four capped VHLMers, it'll be tough sledding for the Asians to repeat as medallists. By raw numbers, the forwards are better than Team World's, but with four players under the VHLM cap, the worry is that the depth won't be there to support the three VHLers. But, they've proven us wrong before! So for you gamblers, here's some extra data to get ready for the tournament. Take it all with a grain of salt, we know TPE is actually bad.
