Kassian is a shitty player, I agree there. But to say a career ending concussion is needed is somewhat harsh. I don't even wish that on guys like Carcillo and I can't stand him.

In all, I never misunderstood you haha.

Man, fuck that guy.

I don't understand the hate for Kassian. He isn't a very dirty player by any means. As a fellow Canuck fan I can understand that you'd be upset that he hasn't and most likely won't progress into a top six power forward, but I think he can be an ideal third liner who is chippy and can net 15 or so goals. I get frustrated with him only when I see him lag behind on plays, showcasing some effort concerns.

The kid has obviously some high expectations to live up to knowing that we gave him a solid centre like Hodgson for him. Now Cody has defensive lapses coming out of every area of the rink, but I feel the Canucks would be better with Cody. My issue with Kassian is your last point, his commitment and effort level. It just appears that he is a lost puppy out there and needs direction otherwise he is a ticking time bomb ready to deliver a late hit, turnover the puck or take an unnecessary penalty. People in Vancouver are so set on having the "next Bertuzzi" that they don't notice that Kassian isn't that and won't be that. His hands are being overrated by most because so far if he had the hands that guys like Bertuzzi or Franzen had he would be able to pot goals on whichever line he is on be it the 1st, 2nd or even the 3rd. I see him as a 3rd line player like you but I only see about 20 points per year. That's great, but which round was he drafted in? He is the next Eric Fehr (without the children book). Also, get rid of that god damn haircut.

The only people I have ever seen trying to defend Kassian as not being a dirty player are Canucks fans.

His ugly headshot in the World Jrs, as well as the atrocious headshot when he played for Windsor.  His 8 game suspension for breaking Sam Gagner's jaw with is stick.  Pretty sure he had a second incident in the playoffs with Windsor as well.  He loves to hurt people in illegal ways and has the brains of a gnat.  He has a lot of solid hockey tools, and if he had a brain to match his body he'd be an excellent hockey player, but he's a moron.

As a Canucks fan, yes the guy is pretty stupid.

As someone who did move there, I can say the positives outweigh the negatives. Where I grew up in New Jersey it was pretty shitty. In Vancouver there is a lot of positives except for the housing prices, constant shit winter weather and cons of the Port Mann (which really is shit).

Is the winer just rain there? Why is it shit compared to say where I live, antartica? (fak u idc if im offtopic)

No there is snow here but the rain pours for days on end and when I have to hike the hill to the well to get fresh water, its overfilled.

Blasphemer!

(snipped)

ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED??

I want to win, and in order to maximize the team's chances of winning, I don't want a no skill agitator running around doing nothing on the 4th line. Taken from a poster on HFBoards:

Rinaldo has now played 175 regular season games. He has 18 points. 0.10 PPG.

It is quite feasible he could get to 250 games played by the end of this season.

If he gets to the 250 plateau while maintaining his .10 PPG he will be in 'elite' company.

Only 28 forwards in NHL history have played 250 games and recorded .10 PPG or less.

Of the 28 only one is a + on his career. Scott Parker.

Mike Brown and Brian McGrattan are the only other active NHLers on the list.

And don't even get me started on sending Rinaldo out there to PK.

I love Kassian tbh, hes like a Lucic but with slightly better skating. Once Kassian breaks out I will be so happy, and yeah Kassian should of been slotted on the second line but I think Desjardins just didnt wanna break up the third line cause they were playing pretty good.

Oh god. The blue/green glasses have a heavy tint now.

Kassian is a good player when he's playing with confidence. He's no Lucic obviously, but he does skate better than him. He may never end up as good as Milan, but there is a chance he could.

You can definitely see he has a skill set when he chooses to use it but that doesn't seem to be the case most of the time.

A guy like Desjardins could bring that out in a guy like Kassian. Like any player with potential, we'll see how far it goes.

I said that because he said "He's like a Lucic with better skating". He is far from Lucic in regards to the nose for the net and physical strength. Yes Kassian may skate better but he is not Lucic in any regard when it comes to a complete game.

From what I've seen from Kassian he is summed up like this. A player with potential to be a powerful forward but lacks the focus, drive and maturity to keep himself looking at hockey and not the opponent or night life. Often times he has useless on the ice because he is more worried about who he wants to trash talk than he is on what facets of the game he should be improving. That's lack of focus.

I know that's why you said it. I was just giving my opinion, I suppose.

That's pretty much the summary of Zack Kassian.

The guy needs to mature by quite a bit and be consistent. He has games where he looks amazing out there and then just goes back to being a goon for awhile.
