This marks the 3rd game of the series between: The New Kids Post S-18 vs. The Old Boys Club Pre-S18 The series is tied 1-1 after two exciting games. There's no telling who will win this 3rd game as both teams are loaded with talent! Will the Old boys continue to fight off father time and come away with the win or will the New Kids youthful exuburance win out? We'll find out soon enough! The Old Boys have taken their supplements and are ready for the game! The New Kids don't really look much younger, but having beers before the game is always a good sign. Now for our starting Line Ups! The New Kids: Leeroy Jenkins - Tukka Reikkinen - Pavel Koradek Daniel Braxton - Ryan Sullivan Alexander Labatt The Old Boys: Markus Strauss - Jardy Bunclewirth - Cam Fowler Adam Schultz - Japinder Singh Aiden Shaw We'll be back soon for the start of the game. Leeerrroooyyy Jenkins wins the opening draw! 0:01 of 1st period - Leeroy Jenkins wins face-off versus Markus Strauss in neutral zone. and we're off... puck goes to Rybak and he begins to skate it,but he's hit by Singh and loses the puck! Nice hit by Sing there, now it's Gerrard with the puck, he shoots it! He missed the net! Puck rings around the boardS to Ryan Sullivan and he blasts a shot! It's blocked by David Walcott! Now Braxton picks it up and shoots one! Saved by Aiden Shaw! Nice save there by Shaw, but there's a rebound! David Smalling is there and bangs away at it! Another save by Shaw! but ANOTHER rebound! Smalling shoots again, buT Shaw stones him and this time covers it up! Good pressure by The New Kids to start the game, Shaw looking good early! 1:10 of 1st period - Slapshot by Daniel Braxton. 1:10 of 1st period - Stopped by Aidan Shaw with a rebound. 1:12 of 1st period - Snap shot by David Smalling. 1:12 of 1st period - Stopped by Aidan Shaw with a rebound. 1:14 of 1st period - Snap shot by David Smalling. 1:14 of 1st period - Stopped by Aidan Shaw without a rebound. It's defelected by a guy with an amazing name.. Tukka Reikkenen! But it's stopped by Aiden Shaw! New Kids with all the pressure so far early in this game. Now it's the Old Boys finally going the other way with the puck, It's Markus Strauss with a shot! He missed the net! But Bunclewirth is there to gather the loose puck, Buncleworth shoots it! Alexander Labatte is there for the save! and he covers up. More pressure bu the Old Boys now as it's Hakkinen hacking at one, but Labatte is there to turn it aside! Face off won by Lars Berger for the New Kids! Berger passes to Braxton who carries the puck into the Old Boys zone Braxton shoots! GOAL!!! Face off won by Phil Rafter, he passes it to Mitch Higgins who brings it into the zone Higgins with a blast on Shaw but he saved it! Now it's Ansgar Snijider with the puck, he shoots! Missed the net! Tarik Saeijs picks it up and he shoots! Missed the net again! For all the i's in these guys names they can't see the net very well... Wait, Saeijs has it again, he shoots! Saved by Labatte! Nice save there! Puck goes the other way now, Clark Marcellin with it, passes to Rafter Rafter skates it and passes off to Snijider Snijider shoots! GOAL!!! Snijider beats Shaw with a snap shot and it's a 2-0 New Kids lead! 2. The New Kids (Post-S18) , Ansgar Snijider 1 (Phil Rafter, Clark Marcellin) at 4:14 Two early goals by the New kids and they've caught the Old Boys off gaurd here in the 1st! What a hit! Play slows down for a few minutes after that with not much happening until Anton Brekker is nailed by Daniel Braxton! Physical play really picking up now! Sullivan with the puck and here comes Brekker! Brekker lays out Sullivan! 9:31 of 1st period - Anton Brekker is hit by Daniel Braxton and loses puck. 11:36 of 1st period - Ryan Sullivan is hit by Anton Brekker and loses puck. Even a guy with no name gets laid out, this time Smalling doing the damage! 12:13 of 1st period - Unknown Player is hit by David Smalling and loses puck. Not to be denied, Volodymyr Rybak stands up Bunclewirth in the nuetral zone as hitting is all that's really going on right now! 13:22 of 1st period - Jardy Bunclewirth is hit by Volodymyr Rybak and loses puck. Ok now back to some actual hockey when Mitch Higgins unloads a shot, but it's blocked by a diving Singh! New Kids getting some more pressure now and Leeroy Jenkins has a chance! Jenkins in on Shaw, he Shoots! Shaw makes the save! Great save by Shaw! 5 minutes go by with not much happening until the last minute of play It's Markuss Strauss with the puck, Strauss is in all alone on Labatte, Strauss dekes left, he dekes right! Let's a snap shot go! Saved by Labatte! And that's the end of the 1st period! Goals for this period are 2 for The New Kids (Post-S18) vs 0 for Old Boys Club (S18). CAL G enters the crease for The New Kids. - Opening draw won by Leeroy Jenkins again! Man does anyone else take draw for the New Kids? New Kids Pavel Koradek gets a shot on Kanou just 4 seconds into the game but he turns it aside! Koradek is not done and he is buzzing around the zone, Koradek on fire! Koradek shoots one! It's deflected by Reikkinen! Kanou makes the save!!! Wow, Kanou testeed early with 2 shots in just 10 seconds but he's playing well. Old Boys take control finally and head the other way, It's Cam Fowler with the puck, Fowler shoots! GOAL!!! Old Boys get on the board! Great shot by Fowler and it's a 2-1 game. 3. Alexander Chershenko wins the draw, what ever happened to names like Joe Smith? Anyway, Chershenko with the puck and skates into the zone! Chershenko takes a wrist shot! Saved by Daisuke Kanou! Jarvis Baldwin gets the rebound and shoots, but it's blocked by Adam Schultz! Now Schultz takes it the other direction, Schultz in on CAL G! He shoots! It's deflected by Cam Fowler and goes wide! Schultz can't believe it, he had that labeled uppper corner. -Play goes on with both teams getting some shots and both Kanou and CAL G are making some nice saves. The hitting is picking up also with Singh laying some big body checks. After a flurry by the New Kids there's a face off to the right of Kanou, the draw is won by Phil Rafter over to Snijider who taps it back to Rafter, he shoots! GOAL!!! Rafter surprised Kanou and it's a 3-1 lead for the New Kids! 4. Old Boys get some pressure but cannot generate any scoring chances and the New Kids take it the other way. It's Jarvis Baldwin skating into the zone, he's past the defenseman and shoots! Saved by Kanou! Great save there! Now it's Koradek with a chance, shoots it! Another save by Kanou! Wow! This guy is playing great! Koradek with another chance but it's deflected away by Fowler. -Play continues with The New Kids getting some more shots, but Kanou is there to stop them. The Old Boys finally start getting some pressure around the 5 minute mark. It's Phil Gerrard with a great chance! But CALG G is there to make the save! Then Adam Schultz has a chance but CAL G turns it aside! 5:13 of 2nd period - Snap shot by Phil Gerrard. 5:13 of 2nd period - Stopped by CAL G with a rebound. 5:15 of 2nd period - Snap shot by Adam Schultz. 5:15 of 2nd period - Stopped by CAL G without a rebound. Good chances there for the Old Boys! Old Boys continue to get pressure past the 10 minute mark but CAL G is not letting anything get by him. The New Kids finally get some more pressure when Clark Marcellin unloads a slap shot! But Kanou is there to make the save! 13:00 of 2nd period - Slapshot by Clark Marcellin. 13:00 of 2nd period - Stopped by Daisuke Kanou with a rebound. Old Boys go the other way, it's Markuss Strauss with the puck. Strauss shoots! Save by CAL G! Then it's Bunclewirth with a chance! Save by CAL G again! Fowler shoots it but Leeroy Jenkins gets in the way to block it! Old Boys really putting pressure on now! Lars Berger grabs a loose puck, he takes a wrist shot! GOAL!!! Berger with a big goal for the Old Boys and this is 3-2 game! 5. Old Boys Club (S18) , Lars Berger 1 (Japinder Singh) at 14:30 Old Boys cut the lead to 1 in the latter part of the 2nd period, let's see if they can tie it up before the 3rd! Now it's Leeroy Jenkins doing what he wants out there and not paying attention to the group, Jenkins grabs the puck and skates into the zone! Jenkins with a shot! It missed the net! Koradek picks it up and gets a shot! Saved by Kanou! Man Kanou is coming up huge this period for the Old Boys! Clark Marcellin with a chance off the rebound, but it's blocked by Bunclewirth! Wow say that 5 times fast! But The New Kids are still in the zone, Old Boys can't clear it. Koradek with a backhander! Missed the net! Reikkinen picks it up. Reikkinen with some room and takes a slap shot! GOAL!!! Tukka Reikkinen rifles one past Kanou and The New Kids are back up by 2 goals! 4-2. 6. Now it's Mathias Chouinard who has a chance. Chouinard with a wrister! Hits the post!!! 16:19 of 2nd period - Wrist shot by Mathias Chouinard. 16:19 of 2nd period - Shot Hit the Post. Man that was close! Walcott is there to get the rebound and he shoots, CAL G is there to make the save! What a great flurry by Old Boys! Now Strauss wins the draw and gives it back to Fowler. he shoots it! Hits the post again!!! This is ridiculous! 16:29 of 2nd period - Snap shot by Cam Fowler. 16:29 of 2nd period - Shot Hit the Post Two posts in less than 10 seconds and Old Boys can't buy a goal here late in the 2nd period. Play continues with a few more chances for Old Boys, but they miss the net or it gets blocked. New Kids making some plays when they need to here late in the 2nd period. Now with less than 1 minute to go, it's Phil Gerrard bullying his way into the zone, Gerrard is past the D, Gerrard is on the the goalie! Gerrard shoots! Saved by CAL G! Gerrard with another chance! Saved by CAL G! 19:54 of 2nd period - Stopped by CAL G with a rebound. 19:58 of 2nd period - Snap shot by Phil Gerrard. 19:58 of 2nd period - Stopped by CAL G with a rebound. And that's the end of the 2nd period. Some great chances for Old Boys, but it remains a 4-2 game in favour of New Kids!
