Since we last reported from the Janser brothers, the World Cup came to an end. It was the swan song for VHL greats like Deathwalker, 5 times Boulet winner Idaho and Atreides and ended with a bronze medal for Team Western Europe.

In the semi-finals Team Western Europe faced the Canadians in a 5-1 loss. No goals were scored in the first frame. Canada then pulled the trigger in the second period with four unanswered goals. In the third, Tavau finally brought Europe on the score board with an even strength goal. But Canada replied with their fifth of the game an buried any hope Europe might have had. Moreau (1g/2a), Marner (0g/3a) and Leduc (2g/0a) were named the three best players of the match. Pearce (.853) had no chance in net against Fuhr (.938). Europe's power play was a no-show (0/3), whereas the box play was decent (5/6).

Daniel was credited with 0g, 1a, -1, 2 PIM (Holding, lead to a goal against), 4 hits and 52.50FO%

In the game for 3rd place the Europeans recovered from the asskicking they received by the hands (or rather feet) of the Canadians, in a 5-2 win. Detroit took a very early (0:07 minutes played) hooking penalty and took Pearce all of twenty seconds to convert the advantage.Perpetrator had not even sat down in the sin bin when he was released again. Lavelle doubled the lead eight minutes later before Team USA pulled one back. The Irish forward scored again to reinstate the two goal lead, before Jokinen scored the last of the period. In the second frame, Lavelle finalized his hattrick with the sole marker scored in these twenty minutes. Idaho set the final highlight with his marker, the only one in the third period. The three stars distinction went to Lavelle (3g/0a), Deathwalker (0g/2a) and Pearce (1g/1a). Pearce (.946) won the duel between the pipes against Booberry (.881). Europe's power play was anemic (1/8) and the penalty kill decent (5/6).

Daniel had 0g, 2a, +2, 2 PIM (Tripping, lead to a goal against)), 1 hit, 1sb and 72.22% efficiency in the hash mark to his name.

The combined stats for the medal games for Dan are as follows:

2gp, 0g, 3a, 3pts, +1, 4 PIM, 5 hits, 1sb, FO%61.84

In the ProAm the Birmingham Tiddlywinks are seated on the 2nd rank, with a 25-13-2 record.
