Vancouver was closer to scoring with 15 shots, Malmo perhaps felt lucky their two minor penalties did not lead to anything. In the second period, both teams spent time in the penalty box as four minor penalties were handed out, but once again no goals in the powerplay. However, late in the second period, Dogwood Maple scored two goals in just over 1 minute, so a terrible moment for Malmo. Score after two periods, Vancouver 2, Malmo 0. The third period was much of the same, with few penalties and some opportunities, but no goals. Vancouver wins 2-0. After the game, Vancouver might be the happier team as they won, but the level of play was poor. Malmo with a deadlier powerplay could have won the game.
