The Bobs legacy, the sequel Ep.7 (The VHL and the VHLE drafts)

Recommended Posts

Welcome everyone,

Last week was the drafts week, we had the VHL entry draft Monday, the VHLM dispersal draft Thursday and the VHLE entry draft Friday and Bobby Bob was eligible for the VHL and the VHLE drafts. Last week we looked at every team where Bob could have end up and in this seventh episode of « The Bobs legacy, the sequel » we are going to look at both team that drafted Bobby Bob.

Before the S88 VHL draft, a lot of teams approached Bobby about his interest in playing for them, his goals, his plan for the future of his career and even the player he wanted to become. He was ranked pretty high in the draft and in his mock draft in the VSN, @Alex said that Bobby Bob was going to be drafted 5th overall by the Prague Phantoms. However, Bobby was finally drafted 3rd overall by the Toronto Legion behind Mark Calaway @Beketov drafted 1st overall by the D.C. Dragons and FISTED ANALLY BY A CIRCUS MONKEY Analfist @STZ drafted 2nd overall by the Vancouver Wolves. Bobby Bob and the Legion had some really good talk before the draft and they even told Bobby that they were going to draft him if he was still available when it was their time to pick, so he was confident.

The Toronto Legion are currently in a rebuild and they are going in the right direction with some really good players, like the forwards Mac Atlas @v.2 and Jimi Jaks @kelvi, the defensemen Tater Tottingham @Trunkxolotl and the goalie Joel Castle @animal74. However, the team will not be competitive before a season or two and this one of the reasons why Bobby decided to stay in the VHLE one season before jumping in the VHL. Bobby was really happy to be drafted by Toronto and he is really excited to start his career in the VHL next season with the Canadian team.

Unlike the VHL teams, no team contacted Bobby Bob, but the rumors were saying that Bob was going to be drafted in the first round, by either the Oslo Storm or the Rome Gladiators. Finally, the father decided to draft the son and Bobby Bob was drafted 6th overall by the Rome Gladiators. They also had the first overall pick, and they went for the Swedish forward, BjorkaBjorn BjornaBjorkson @JardyB10. Together, they are going to lead the team this season the roster in general is looking good.

Last year was a difficult one for the Gladiators and this year is supposed to be completely different. Indeed, we talked to the GM of Rome, and he confirmed to us that the Italian team was going to be competitive this season and for the seasons to come. Bobby Bob decided to stay down one season, to try to win the Reconnaissance Cup and dominate the VHLE. Next season, Bobby is expected to play in the VHL with the Toronto Legion and since the defense of the team is not really good at the moment, Bobby Bob will probably play on the top defensive pair.
