Week Ending Dec 22nd

 

1. There was a recent trade which brought in 4 prospects to the team. The cost was a plethora of picks including our S99 1st. What are your thoughts on this trade?

2. How has your off-season gone so far? Has your player done anything exciting? Are they taking it easy? Are they training hard for the upcoming season? Has this off-season felt longer than other off-seasons?

3. What are some goals for your player this season? Are you looking to score goals? Make a lot of hits? In general, win a lot of games?

4. What attributes are you looking to upgrade in the near future? Are you looking to upgrade one attribute in specific, or many?

5. Malmo Management wants to invite the team out for a night before the season starts up, what should we do and where should we go? Hit the bars for some social drinking? Maybe go bowling?

6. It's the season of Christmas, with only 10 days to go what are you planning to do for the holiday?

1. I like the move as I think it bridges us forward for a couple seasons while the team retools.  A lot of players in their last season and we need the players who are going to be able to step in this year or next.

 

2. Not bad.  Prepping for his last season.  A little bit disappointed to not being a member of Team Scandinavia, but these tournaments serve those in the prime of their career and Flint is in his swansong.  

 

3. I obviously want to win a Continental Cup given its mine and a few others' last season in the league.  I admittedly would like to take over the team record for goals, assists and points cause that would be pretty fun, but the cup is what I really want.

 

4. Honestly pretty much everything just to make up for the depreciation I have hit.  Over the course of the season I expect to rebuild though and be at my best come playoff time.

 

5. Escape Room before Dinner and some Pool.

 

6. Spend it with my family honestly.  Only thing I want to do.

a. Better than most the league feels about it, it's risky and leaves a lot less room to pivot in the future, we might need to be all in with all our future picks until the next wave of retirement, or this will be rough past 98.

a. Just meditation in the Himalayas (he actually has been hibernating like a recluse but the mountains sound better)

1. IT'S THE CHRISTMAS HOLIDAYS!!! How do you typically celebrate Christmas? What are you doing to celebrate this year? If you don't celebrate Christmas, do you celebrate a different holiday around this time of year?

1.  Merry Christmas!!! I don’t celebrate Christmas but around a month or so earlier, I celebrate Diwali, where we light candles in our house and fireworks outside, eat lots of sweets and spend time with our family!

 

3. Sometimes! This year it’s a bit white, past couple years it’s been as dry as a bone so thankfully we got some here this year

1) I have Christmas dinner with my wife and her family on Christmas eve and then with my mom and sister on Christmas Day and that's generally it, try to have game night with friends at some point during the Christmas week as well

3) I live in Winnipeg, so I'm used to a lot of snow around Christmas time. The last three days the temperature has been -2, 0, and today +2 which, honestly, is ridiculous. The snow is melting on December 27th. It's nice if you have to be outside, but if anything is going to call out how real climate change is, the legitimate possibility of not having a white Christmas in Winnipeg at some point with this kind of weather should do it.

2. It has to be eggnog, which is basically the only actual Christmas beverage-- but it must be consumed in moderate amounts!  Too much eggnog is no bueno!

3. It does not usually snow here in Houston for Christmas.  Maybe like once every 20 years, but we're much more likely to have a wet Christmas than a white Christmas.  This year, it's been very warm and I'm not sure how I feel about it...

5. I'm definitely a gift giver.  Every year I need to be the first person to give my gifts to family and friends.  It makes me feel weird opening my gifts first and I take my Christmas shopping very seriously

1. I mean it's very simple but also confusing because since my parents are French they like to celebrate on the 24th but then other times they enjoy to do it on the 25th but something that does stay consistent is the "big family dinner" at our grandmothers house and then go home open up the gifts and that's pretty much it

 

2. honestly it's not really a holiday thing but my grandmother every year makes Lemon pies and they are sugary but holy shit they are good. 

 

3. snows a lot yea and it get's freezing can sometimes go down to -12c during the day and around 15-c at night

1. We kept it simple and quiet this year.  Wife and daughter were sick (now I am) so we actually just had food in the house and played some Mario Party and Board Games. 
 

2. I like egg nog and while I don’t drink a lot of it, it and peppermint hot chocolate are my two go-to Christmas drinks. 
 

3. We had snow the day before but while there was snow on the ground, it wasn’t actively snowing on Christmas here.  Roughly around 0 Celsius here (Belleville, Ontario). 
 

5. Gift giver without a question. 
 

7. I love spending it at home and for that reason, I really would like to travel on a cruise or something like that for Christmas. I don’t need the snow.

1. The Christmas holidays are over and New Year's is just around the corner. Do you or your player have any New Year's resolutions?

2. The 2000's will be a quarter of a century old this year, 25 years! What has been your favourite/worst year of the 2000's? Favourite/worst memory? I can definitely say 2020 with Covid was my worst year so far.

3. What has been your favourite event/memory/thing about 2024? Did you accomplish something new this year? Did you travel somewhere for the first time?

4. Do you have any plans to celebrate this New Year's? I am for sure finding a couple of my buddies to drink with to enter 2025.

5. Season 97 is already underway and Malmo is currently 2-1 to start after 3 games played. We are 4th in the EU Conference so far, where do you predict our team to finish by the end of the season? Top 3? Wildcard spot? If you're in the VHLM, where do you predict your team will finish?

6. Besides Malmo, which team(s) in the VHL look to be elite level? If you're in the VHLM this season, which VHLM team(s) look to be the best?

7. Going into each game can bring some rituals or superstitions in order to be mentally ready to play. Does your player have any pre-game rituals/superstitions in order to be game ready?

8. If I gave you $1 million dollars to spend on whatever you want, but you had to spend it all, what would you buy? New house? New car? Invest it all in the stock market?

9. Do you have any pets? If not, what pet would you like to have if you could have one? I've always wanted a dog and luckily my best friend has 2 that I get to hangout with!

10. What is a comfort meal you like to have during the winter season? Maybe you like to snack on junk food like chips or ice-cream? I really love making a homemade version of hamburger helper, it's basically the same thing except all real ingredients.

3. Well, I found the VHL on January 7th of 2024 and it's been a super fun passtime for me this whole year so it's up there in terms of new things in 2024.  Recently I got back from Canada where I was able to visit with some friends I hadn't seen in a long time, so that was probably the highlight of my year tbh.


4. I have a board games night already planned for new years which usually involves good friends and many drinks so I'm looking forward to that!


6. I think Vancouver is looking like one of the teams to beat this season and will have a great shot at repeating this season-- as long as they don't win the Victory Cup! 


7. Well, since the cat's out of the back already, I'm in possession of Logan Ninefingers' lost tenth finger-- which was lost during a game when it got sliced off by a skate.  It's been a good luck charm ever since S95 when I won the Continental Cup with Riga and I wear it around my neck like a rabbit's foot for every game.


8. I would probably buy some real estate-- ideally at least two properties.  I could live in one and rent the other to help cover monthly expenses... or I could just go on a shopping spree and buy a boatload of stuff I really don't need 


9. I currently do not have any pets-- BUT I REEAALLLY want to get a cat! So as soon as it makes sense, that's what I'm doing

1. The Christmas holidays are over and New Year's is just around the corner. Do you or your player have any New Year's resolutions?

2. The 2000's will be a quarter of a century old this year, 25 years! What has been your favourite/worst year of the 2000's? Favourite/worst memory? I can definitely say 2020 with Covid was my worst year so far.

5. Season 97 is already underway and Malmo is currently 2-1 to start after 3 games played. We are 4th in the EU Conference so far, where do you predict our team to finish by the end of the season? Top 3? Wildcard spot? If you're in the VHLM, where do you predict your team will finish?

6. Besides Malmo, which team(s) in the VHL look to be elite level? If you're in the VHLM this season, which VHLM team(s) look to be the best?

3) I got to compete for a national championship (5-pin bowling) with the most fun team I've ever been a part of. We came just short - lost our gold medal match by just a few pins, but it was just a great experience. I made my second national all-star team & missed a perfect game on my last ball in one of the round robin matches, so I had a successful event from a personal standpoint too, but it was the team that made it something I will always remember.

 

4) Nothing special, but I am excited to have the Canada/USA world junior game on NYE again, it's been a while!

 

5) Probably 3rd in the EU, maybe 2nd? Good enough to be in a competitive position come playoff time which is all you can ask for!

 

6) Vancouver, Moscow, and Davos all look very strong.

 

8 ) I mean it's getting to the point where I need a new car, but definitely not a million dollar one lol. If I can split it up, I'd invest half, pay off the house, buy a relatively nice new car, make sure I'm debt free and travel with the rest

 

9) No pets. I wouldn't mind a cat or dog, but to be honest I'm a little worried life is just too busy to properly care for one!

1. Nah, personally I don’t really have a new year’s resolution (I may have forgotten to make some), however, Shaw’s resolution consist of being more locked in that the previous season, and improve on his compete game.

 

3. I think that my favorite thing of the year of was at a DECA competition, where I place top 20 in the entire province of Ontario, as the youngest to place in the top 20, and hope to improve and make more improvements to my speech and hopefully make ICDC.

 

4. Ha, unfortunately I cannot drink yet, however, I spent some time with my family and some family friends who came over, so it was a bit of a fun time!

 

5. That’s a though one! I definitely think that we can make the third position in the conference! If we can go on a good little streak, I can also see us being second in the conference if things work out well!

8. That’s a great question, I’d probably split the amount, keep some in as a safety net, probably around 15% of it, then use around 50% of it and put it in a safe location where there is a low-risk, long term investment. This leaves me with 35% of the initial value. From there, I’d probably try my hand in the stock market with 25% of it, and put the rest towards saving for University. Overall, I’d try my best to not go overboard and maintain my current lifestyle.

 

9. I’ve always wanted a pet snake! Unfortunately no member of my family has even entertained the idea, so I’ve been trying to push for a dog, however, I do wish to get a snake when I move out!
