@ucyXpher

Welcome everyone,

The trade deadline is next week and once again we currently have a really interesting season in the VHLM in S96. The race for the first place is going to be really fun to follow until the end of the season and the last playoff spots are going to be hardly fought until the last game of the season. In this article, we are going to look at each team's start to the season and we are going to say if they are buyers or sellers. If they are buyers, we are going to do a little list of players they could trade for and if they are sellers, we are going to do a list of players they could trade.

#1 Philadelphia Reapers PHI.png.d8c8acd328dc7ff717c75310b98657a2

Pre-season rank: 2nd

As expected the Philadelphia Reapers are having a really good season and are currently leading the VHLM with 70 points. There is not a lot I can say about this team except that they are a really balanced team and that they don't really have any real weakness. Indeed, with Taylor Swift @lilchrist and Youre Not Fucking Retiring @twists leading the offense and Einar Mathiesen @xsjack leading the defense, the only thing they could improve is their depth forwards and defensemen.

Situation: Buyer

Players to acquire:

LW - Jean-Pierre Devote @eagle_3450

RW - Marek Nowaczyk @Chillybro

LW - Kevin OConnor @Luke033

C - Mad Villain @Tate

RW - Drosmis Sarkanis @Mr Bohannan

G - Jon Webber III @Webberj

G - Deadpanda @Alex

#2 Ottawa Lynx Ottawa_Icon.png

Pre-season rank: 1st

Just like the Reapers, the Ottawa Lynx are doing really good since the beginning of the season as they are currently second in the standings with 61 points in 48 games. The Lynx also have are really balanced team with Brandon Petan Jr @sadie and Ocean Codoller @FreshOceanCod in offense and River Harrington @kirbithan in defense. Ottawa could however improve their depth forwards to hope to catch Philadelphia and finish first of the league.

Situation: Buyer

Players to acquire:

LW - Jean-Pierre Devote @eagle_3450

RW - Marek Nowaczyk @Chillybro

LW - Kevin OConnor @Luke033

C - Mad Villain @Tate

RW - Drosmis Sarkanis @Mr Bohannan

G - Jon Webber III @Webberj

G - Deadpanda @Alex

#3 Miami Marauders Miami_Icon.png

Pre-season rank: 6th

The Miami Marauders are without doubt one of the biggest surprises of the regular season in S96. Indeed, they are currently ranked 3rd in the entire league with a total of 58 points. When you look at the stats, Miami is one of the best team offensively thanks to Anthony Simmons II @Starchychaff, but also one of the worst team defensively, so the Marauders are clearly going to be buyers and they will maybe look to improve their defense.

Situation: Buyer

Players to acquire:

LW - Jean-Pierre Devote @eagle_3450

RW - Marek Nowaczyk @Chillybro

LW - Kevin OConnor @Luke033

C - Mad Villain @Tate

RW - Drosmis Sarkanis @Mr Bohannan

D - Scrungle Bungle @Novanod

#4 Mississauga Hounds Miss_Icon_g4UOKIp.png

Pre-season rank: 3rd

Once again, we have a team who is as expected doing pretty good this season. Indeed, the Mississauga Hounds are currently fourth in the league with 57 points in 48 games. The Hounds are a similar team to the Reapers and the Lynx as they are pretty well balanced. Filip Zinek @FiZi and Nikita Yolishev @Joel Main are doing the job by scoring goals and Slava Kovalenko @OblivionWalker is doing the job in defense, but personnaly, I think that if the Hounds want to win the Founder's Cup they have to improve their defense a little bit.

Situation: Buyer

Players to acquire:

D - Scrungle Bungle @Novanod

G - Jon Webber III @Webberj

G - Deadpanda @Alex

#5 Mexico City Kings MC_Icon.png

Pre-season rank: 4th

This season of the Mexico City Kings is the definition of a team with highs and lows. Indeed, the team is currently 5th in the standings, but if you look at their differrential, they have the second worst one in the league with -18. Their offense is struggling and their defense is not doing bad, but is not doing good either. Four of their five players with the most points are defensemen, the only forward is Hunter s @Hunter S. We still have to acknowledge the brilliant work of Chazz Micheal Micheals @Xflexz in front of the net.

Situation: Buyer

Players to acquire:

LW - Jean-Pierre Devote @eagle_3450

RW - Marek Nowaczyk @Chillybro

LW - Kevin OConnor @Luke033

C - Mad Villain @Tate

RW - Drosmis Sarkanis @Mr Bohannan

#Tie 6-8 Halifax 21st HFX-square.png

Pre-season rank: 9th

With the Miami Marauders, the Halifax 21st are another big surprises this season. Indeed, on paper Halifax does not really have a team that should be able to compete this season and were supposed to be rebuilding, but they are currently in a three-way tie for the sixth place in the standings with 48 points. Halifax does not really have any superstar in offense and in defense, but in the net they have the best goalie in the league in Jon Webber III @Webberj and this is without a doubt the reason why they are in a playoffs spot. I just don't see the 21st going all the way this season, so I think they should be sellers and Webber is going to be a great bargaining chip.

Situation: Seller

Players to trade:

G - Jon Webber III @Webberj

#Tie 6-8 San Diego Marlins Marlins_vCpIIA4.png

Pre-season rank: 8th

The San Diego Marlins are exactly were we predicted them to be with 48 points and the 8th place in the league. Just like the 21st, I don't really see the Marlins having a long playoffs run this season even if they have better player than Halifax. Indeed, in offense San Diego can count on Jean-Pierre Devote @eagle_3450 and Nicholas Sunderbruch Jr @NickSunderbruch and in defense they have Blaze Thunderstrike @eaglesfan036 that is doing good. If the Marlins decide to sell, they have pretty good players that the contenders may ask for.

Situation: Seller

Players to trade:

LW - Jean-Pierre Devote @eagle_3450

#Tie 6-8 Las Vegas Aces Aces_Icon.png

Pre-season rank: 5th

The Las Vegas Aces are probably the most disappointing team after the half-season mark as they are only playing for 0.500 with 21 wins for 48 points. On paper the team is looking pretty good, but it seems like they are not able to get on a winning streak. I still want to mention that Kevin OConnor @Luke033 is having a pretty good season offensively for the Aces. The situation of the Aces is really weird as I think that they could have the team to do a push in the playoffs, but they will have to do some changes if they want to do that.

Situation: Buyer/Seller

Players to acquire if they are buyers:

D - Scrungle Bungle @Novanod

Players to trade if they are sellers:

RW - Marek Nowaczyk @Chillybro

LW - Kevin OConnor @Luke033

C - Mad Villain @Tate

G - Deadpanda @Alex

#9 Houston Bulls HOU.png.c63c99609f2d60f007072a351f94e169

Pre-season rank: 7th

Just as expected, the Houston Bulls are having a difficult season with 47 points in 48 games and are 9th in the standings. However, it was part of the process for the Bulls, so we are not worried and we know that the upcoming seasons will be better. Plus, the Bulls have a couple of players they can try to trade to help them in their rebuild.

Situation: Seller

Players to trade:

D - Scrungle Bungle @Novanod

#10 Saskatoon Wild SSK-square.png

Pre-season rank: 10th

At the start of the season, we did not expect to see the Wild win a lot of games and as the standings shows, we were right (lol). But seriously, just like the Houston Bulls, Saskatoon is in a rebuilding stage and the upcoming season will be difficult, but they have players they can trade to improve their bank of draft picks.

Situation: Seller

Players to trade:

RW - Drosmis Sarkanis @Mr Bohannan

That’s all for me, thanks everyone for reading, I wish you all a good end of the regular season and see you in another VSN article!
