The proposition means you'd have the option to be in the VHL straight away, ie. also not sitting down and twiddling your thumbs, in a league that actually matters. I remember a time when the VHLM didn't matter and we actively campaigned to make it a bigger deal and make it more important so that new members would feel a part of the league. This VHLM reform is going the opposite direction of the VHLM reform that Victor fought so hard for before. I "fought" to make the VHLM a more independent and involving experience for people uncomfortable in getting right into the VHL talk. The VHLM mag and separate team forums accomplished that. Getting re-creates to care en masse was always a pipe dream. That said, I would like people to understand that this change is far from inevitable. I think some posts here can be misinterpreted but in fact the BOG is equally split and I don't see this happening. So this automatically eliminates recreating at the deadline then huh? Elite guys still won't use the start in the VHL right away thing. It's also kind of just cheating because the VHLM is a process and weeds out players and check in on their commitment to the league so when team's draft that they don't get busts and GMs can monitor how players are updating throughout the VHLM season. diamond_ace 3,112 Posted December 17, 2014 Share Posted December 17, 2014 If it was skip the VHLM and have higher carryover vs doing the VHLM exactly as we have it now, I'd definitely still do the VHLM exactly as we have it now. If I had to forfeit carryover altogether in order to stay down, I'd probably go up, but only because I'd feel like I had to. It matters to cultivate activity and learn the ins and outs of sim leagues and the VHL, which is not something that someone like myself or Boubabi need to go through.
