Jersey Number: 19 Drafted: S31 COL (2nd Overall) Username: Kendrick There was a considerable amount of hype surrounding Kameron Taylor when he entered the VHL. Coming from a prestigious handler in Kendrick, and instantly becoming the face of the Cologne franchise with Kendrick taking the GM spot for the expansion franchise, there was a ton of pressure on Taylor to produce, but produce he did. He may not have a ton of awards, but he was one of the hardest working and consistently productive players of his era. Taylor finished his career on fire, logging at least 100 points in each of his last four seasons while finishing top three in face-offs in those four seasons (and leading the league twice) as well. Producing at least 80 points in every season aside from his rookie year, it's fair to say that Kameron Taylor lived up to the hype as a dynamic, generational center whether it was with Cologne or Riga. Career Awards: S35 Grimm Jonsson Trophy (Top Leader) S36 Grimm Jonsson Trophy (Top Leader; shared with Connor Low, Ethan Osborne and Thomas Landry) S37 Kevin Brooks Trophy (Top Goal Scorer) Season 30 Statistics (VHLM): Regular Season: S30 (SSK/SYR) - 72GP / 43G / 75A / 118P / +33 / 12PIM / 55H / 347SH / 4GWG / 49.41%FO Playoffs: S30 (SYR) - 11GP / 8G / 6A / 14P / -2 / 4PIM / 11H / 58SH / 1GWG / 45.95%FO Picked fourth overall by the Syracuse Wolfpack in the VHLM Dispersal Draft (Mario Linguini went second in the same draft, interestingly enough), Taylor immediately made waves as a great playmaking center. The Wolfpack dominated the North American Conference en route to 109 points, more than double the second place team's total. Taylor scored surprisingly well in the postseason but struggled to facilitate his teammates as successfully as he had in the regular season, leading to Syracuse losing in the final to Kolari in six games. Still, Taylor more than flashed his talents, showing signs of being a VHL superstar. Season 31 Statistics: Regular Season: S31 (COL) - 72GP / 22G / 40A / 62P / -6 / 34PIM / 128H / 324SH / 5GWG / 54.02%FO Kameron's rookie season in the VHL was also the Cologne Express franchise's first season. Cologne was given the second overall pick, but was forced to use it to bring in Taylor, but the team was still able to amass a good amount of talent to finish a solid 34-31-7, avoiding last place in the European Conference. Taylor didn't have a dominant rookie year, but a lot of his game is built on helping other players score, and it's tough to get it going with a roster comprised of players that haven't played together before. Still, Taylor undoubtedly showed great potential in his first pro season. Season 32 Statistics: Regular Season: S32 (COL) - 72GP / 47G / 55A / 102P / -2 / 41PIM / 90H / 501SH / 3GWG / 55.90%FO Cologne took a step back in Season 32, finishing last in the European Conference with 55 points. No one can blame Taylor for this, as his play in his second pro season was phenomenal. Improving by 25 goals and 40 points from the previous year, Taylor became the guy that Cologne leaned on, being one of two players on the team to score at least 30 times. The team needed an infusion of talent, but Taylor was proving to be a true centerpiece to build around. Season 33 Statistics: Regular Season: S33 (COL) - 72GP / 32G / 46A / 80P / -2 / 50PIM / 121H / 431SH / 5GWG / 53.34%FO Season 33 was rough for Cologne. The team finished 31-35-6, leaving them 15 points out of a playoff spot as the team tried to infuse some young talent with the additions of Sergey Brovalenko and Evgeni Chekov. Kameron Taylor took a step back in the season, leading an inconsistent offense while failing to produce a second consecutive 40 goal season. For a young team stuck on the fringes of their conference, it was time for Kameron Taylor to step up and lead the franchise to the next level. Season 34 Statistics: Regular Season: S34 (COL) - 72GP / 35G / 55A / 90P / +23 / 71PIM / 137H / 466SH / 4GWG / 55.15%FO Playoffs: S34 (COL) - 4GP / 3G / 2A / 5P / -2 / 2PIM / 9H / 22SH / 0GWG / 50.00%FO Season 34 was a landmark season for Cologne, who made it to the playoffs for the first time in team history. Taylor had a bounce back season, logging 90 points while tying his career high of 55 assists. Come playoff time, Cologne was overwhelmed into a sweep against Riga, despite the teams finishing only six points apart in the standings. Kameron Taylor looked better in Season 34, but many figured he had to start showing more dominance on the ice to push his team over the edge. Season 35 Statistics: Regular Season: S35 (COL) - 72GP / 57G / 55A / 112P / +53 / 98PIM / 206H / 459SH / 7GWG / 64.05%FO Playoffs: S35 (COL) - 11GP / 7G / 11A / 18P / +4 / 17PIM / 30H / 58SH / 1GWG / 57.11%FO Season 35 marked the first season in which Cologne actually looked like a team that could win a championship. That's mostly thanks to Taylor, who dominated in Season 35, posting 57 goals (22 more than the previous season despite seven less shots) and once again tying his career high with 55 assists. Cologne was able to easily handle Davos in the first round of the postseason before succumbing to the Helsinki Titans in the European Conference Finals. Taylor was named the league's Top Leader that season, a well-deserved award after leading his team to be the only team in the Conference Championship round with only one 100-point scorer. Season 36 Statistics: Regular Season: S36 (COL) - 72GP / 60G / 63A / 123P / +44 / 115PIM / 162H / 525SH / 8GWG / 66.29%FO Playoffs: S36 (COL) - 4GP / 1G / 2A / 3P / -2 / 4PIM / 23H / 29SH / 0GWG / 54.98%FO Season 36 saw Cologne fall back in the European Conference. Barely making it to the playoffs as the third seed, the team was bounced quickly from the postseason, failing to win a single game for the second time in Taylor's three career postseason years. In the regular season, however, Taylor was once again one of the very best in the game. After improving to third in face-off percentage in Season 35, Taylor jumped to the top of the list in Season 36 whole posting career highs in goals, assists and points. He was once again voted Top Leader, although he shared the award with Thomas Landry, Ethan Osborne and Connor Low. Season 37 Statistics: Regular Season: S37 (COL/RIG) - 72GP / 54G / 52A / 106P / +35 / 77PIM / 203H / 535SH / 9GWG / 64.48%FO Playoffs: S37 (RIG) - 13GP / 5G / 14A / 19P / +4 / 59PIM / 35H / 61SH / 0GWG / 57.20%FO After representing the face of Cologne for so long, Kameron Taylor was dealt to Riga at the trade deadline of Season 37. Taylor's production dipped a tad in the season, although in a weaker year his 54 goals led the league. In the playoffs, Riga lost to the HC Davos Dynamo in seven games to miss out on a shot at the Continental Cup. Now going into his final season, Taylor hoped to finally achieve the glory of a Cup win. Season 38 Statistics: Regular Season: S38 (RIG) - 72GP / 52G / 63A / 115P / +54 / 60PIM / 78H / 536SH / 9GWG / 65.39%FO Playoffs: S38 (RIG) - 10GP / 7G / 10A / 17P / +2 / 31PIM / 6H / 51SH / 1GWG / 60.94%FO In his penultimate season, Kameron Taylor helped lead Riga to the second best record in the extremely competitive European Conference. Leading the league in face-off percentage for the second time in three years and leading all centers in points, Taylor had a majorly successful final season. Unfortunately, the team once again couldn't get past Davos in the European Conference finals, leading Taylor without a cup win in an otherwise excellent career. In a very strong era for centers, Taylor was an elite playmaker with the leadership qualities and hard-nosed effort to turn into a VHL Hall-of-Famer.
