This marks the first time one of Muffins' players have gone in the top three; Damien Walec and Joey Clarence were third round picks, Optimus Prime went in the second round, GIYGAS went seventh overall and Tukka Reikkinen went fourth in his draft. Delicious's ascent to the top spot of the draft represents a victory for the Muffins agency, which took a hit after a pedestrian career from GIYGAS. It's an interesting turn of events that New York selected the Frenchman, given Delicious's vocality regarding wanting to play somewhere else. "As I outlined at the beginning of the season, I'm not likely to play in New York for any more than three seasons, but they took a chance on my and I do respect that," Delicious said after being drafted. "I'm still going to give New York my all, as I attempt to become the dynamic winger I want to be."
