Kendrick(when updating)

Hello everyone. It's much too early to tell how the S49 VHL Draft will turn out, but as the writer for Around the VHLM, that's my job! So let's look at how we think the first round of the S49 VHL draft should have gone.

1st overall :rig: LW Pietro Maximoff(Original pick: D Titan Kronos)

It was a very tight race for the first overall pick, and Kronos at the time of the draft had the most TPE. But now after a bit, we see that Maximoff is the S49 draftee with the most TPE. Maximoff has 251 TPE, giving him an S49-leading 74 added TPE since draft day, which is way ahead of the competition. Ironically, Riga later traded for Maximoff this season

2nd overall :cal: D Ted Doughty(Original Pick: D Ted Doughty)

No need for a redo with this S49 pick. Doughty was fighting for the first overall pick, and has shown his worth. Already named the captain, Doughty entered the draft with the second most TPE and still does. Since draft day, Doughty has added 39 TPE, which is currently third among the S49 players. Doughty should be a great addition to the Calgary rebuild.

3rd overall :dav: D Bobby Digital(Original Pick: D Bobby Digital)

Another pick that is fine just how it is. Digital had the 8th most TPE when the draft came up. He now sits at 6th, and has the 2nd most gained TPE since the draft with 40. Davos is already forward heavy, and needed a solid dman to help their messy rebuild.

4th overall :hel: D Titan Kronos(Original Pick: LW Thor Odinsson)

A little bit of a drop in our mock draft, the first overall pick Titan Kronos had the most TPE when the draft started, but now he sits at third in the class. This is largely due to his 26 added TPE since the draft, which only ranks him 7th among S49 draftees. Like we said, this is only a short time period, but it's enough to make him fall in our mock draft

5th overall :col: LW Thor Odinsson(Original Pick: LW Pietro Maximoff)

Sadly, in this mock draft, Cologne doesn't get the gem of the draft in Maximoff. Luckily for them Odinsson drops a spot to them. 5th in TPE on draft day, he still is 5th among draftees. Though he is only 6h in gained TPE in the draft with 27, but his potential is too much to pass up here

6th overall :cal: D Shayne Gow(Original Pick: C Kai Roberts)

This is a beautiful pairing, and one I'm slightly surprised didn't happen in the first place. Calgary loves a good Gow, and here is one that falls right into their laps. Gow's TPE count isn't too impressive, ranking 10th on draft day and 8th now, but his 34 TPE gain since the draft puts him as the 4th highest gainer out of the S49 draftees,  sure signs of a good player to come

7th overall :sea: C Kai Roberts(Original Pick: G Sven Wolf)

First of all, this was a GM appointment, and with how great Banackock has done with Seattle it would be best for them to probably just take G Sven Wolf anyway even though he retired. But we are going to play devils advocate and have them take Kai Roberts with this pick. It's a bit of a risk, but with the 4th most TPE, 5th most TPE gained since draft, and two members who have been GMs of Roberts' agent's players, he could turn out to be a big help for Seattle.

8th overall :dav: C AK47(Original Pick: D Tobias Klingberg)

AK47 made a surprise switch from G to C this offseason. At this point this is simply the best player still available. With 62 more TPE than anyone else available, as well as more TPE gained, this is a no-brainer selection

9th overall :hel: D Tobias Klingberg(Original Pick: D Shayne Gow)

Another case of a team that made a good pick, but wasn't lucky enough to get them in our mock draft. Klingberg could form a solid future pairing with Kronos, and has shown enough promise of late to definitely warrant a first round selection

10th overall :cal: RW J.J. Dynamite(Original Pick: LW Kendrick E. Tsbaguph-Diks)

KETD was pretty much a no-brainer selection for the Calgary GM at the time, since he fit perfectly in the system with Munk, but since then he has failed to update his player. Dynamite, on the other hand, who was the 13th player taken, has added 13 TPE since being drafted and has vaulted KETD in total TPE count, so it makes sense to take him here.

nice article adwyer :3

I'm still not sure what Green's potential is since he says he will just be a welfare guy so I am not sure about number 1, but he is definitely the most interesting case of the draft falling to 5.

As for my pick at 6, I should have taken Baller or Gow :3

I just picked him for first because of his TPE, he already has 22 TPE more and has gained 34 more TPE since the draft than any of the other draftees

yeah i didn't really pay attention to the draft but in hindsight I am a little surprised that you didn't take flyersfan haha

Gow was a beaut pick if I say so myself, I think him being classed as a welfare guy let him fall despite him hitting 9 a week with jobs and a Fan590. But I 100% would have picked boom even if I'd had first overall :P

Either eaglesfan finally wants to move out of his brother's shadow or he wanted a forward. Although....

Well now you've fixed that one.

Well now you've fixed that one.

Jim Gow v. Austin Gow (although this one may be debatable, as Austin won RotY, not sure about any cups. I had 1 cup and nothing else)

Robin Gow v. RGIII

Bernie Gow v. Tim TebowGow

Shayne Gow v. Travis Gownecny

Our player v. player comparison is actually a lot closer than you'd think. I've just had the higher profile jobs. @eaglesfan036

I won a cup with Austin, and I think he was surprisingly more effective than Jim even though he had less tpe. You are right Robin was better than RGIII, RGIII sucked. Also Travis will be way better than scrub Shayne

Not with this Austin :(

also RG3 sucking, what's new? We don't exactly produce NFL QBs, for the same reason Alabama doesn't usually produce NFL RBs
