It was the second season of a rebuild, and while they did make some strides in acquiring some potential stars with players such as Diana Maxwell and Essen Ravenwing, the reality as most Americans fans knew was that Season 51 was not going to be a fun ride for the team. However things continued to take dark turns as the majority of the Americans roster struggled to even showcase the potential they might have. Despite all that the Americans management came out proud and strong at the end of the season. GM Ryan Power gave his entire vote of confidence on his current star power and even depth players. He singled out his leadership core of Digital, Maxwell and Ravenwing saying that they are future game breakers in the VHL, and that the beginning of hopeful contract negotiations with Maxwell and Ravenwing would start as soon as possible. It is obviously the Americans hope to sign the two very talented young players to longer term contracts. The Americans already signed Bobby Digital, their captain, to a career contract extension. But apparently that isn't all the news out of the New York GM offices as the playoffs are underway. The team has posted several teasers that soon an announcement regarding the team would be in order. What that announcement specifically has to do with we don't know. Some speculate that it could have something to do with confirming their number one selection in the draft, as the Americans recently won the draft lottery to select first overall in the upcoming S52 entry draft. Others speculate that in the wake of the news of Donald Trump being named President that New York was going to relocate to Canada. A crazy suggestion even said that the team would be moving to Vasteras, although a legitimate source on that rumor can't be confirmed.
