Phil 5,119 Posted November 10, 2016 Share Posted November 10, 2016 For the first time since the draft lottery took place, Shankly has made a comment regarding the New York Americans, who just minutes after the lottery announced their intentions to make Shankly their first pick: “Well first off, I am absolutely flattered that Mr. Power even considered picking me up at all, much less as the first overall! It’s a dream come true.” When asked about playing for the Americans, Shankly said: “Well growing up they were one of the most dominant teams in the VHL and they still remain one of the most successful teams ever. When all my mates talk about heading overseas to America, of course the first city we all talk about is New York. So again, it just feels like a dream – and I kind of refuse to believe it until the draft actually happens.” We also asked how he think he’d fit in with the team: “Well I would love to get the chance to play with Ravenwing and Maxwell. I think my playing style would complement their skill set nicely.
