You can say what you want, but the team that once was a dominant force in the VHL is currently in a bad shape. It all started with @eaglesfan036 stepping down before S53(?) - his predecessor @Pablo was about to start tanking, but he made a mistake with the very well known trade. Also, the combeack of Eagles didn't have the same effect, like on his first stint with Calgary. And now he steps down again, because he just hasn't much motivation and he's focusing on his study in London. That means I'll continue my ''the next [insert any team's name] is...?'' series and try to predict who is going to take this job.

 

The Wranglers' draftee. Not the most believeable scenario. Seems like @MD9 is slowly stepping down from sim leagues and I've heard @Kyle isn't interested in being a GM. Eveything can happen, but it doesn't looks like a true option here at this moment.

 

Eaglesfan is trolling and he won't step down. Seems weird, but I'm sure we have seen a situation when a member is about to step down from a sim league job, but then changes his mind. I don't think this is the case though - like why he needs to troll everybody about studying in London and losing motivation? So it's not a troll for sure.

 

@Beaviss. He's one of the most active first-gens in a long time and he's already managing the VHLM team. Perhaps I'm overreacting, but I think he could be interested to take this job after reading this post. I don't know if the Blue Team is going to consider him as the replacement as he's ''too young member'', but it still might be interesting if he takes this job.

 

@Tyler. It's been a while since his last GM stint, but apparently he is looking for taking this job as well, at least what I've seen from him lately. He actually the last GM who led Vasteras to the cup, so he knows how to win. And if nobody else will apply for this job, I wouldn't be surprised if he is the next Calgary Wranglers GM.

 

In previous series I was also talking about Blue Team and their chances, but that's not the case for now as only @Higgins is the only active commish left and he's already managing Helsinki. Another interesting fact about him - his second player Jacob is playing in Calgary and it's his last contract season. So we might see Jacob as an FA if nothing will change. But that's the next Calgary GM who is going to face and try to solve these problems. And I'm talking about multiple problems:

 

*like aforementioned Jacob;

*and then they have Luca Volkov who might test FA waters as well;

*drafting a right guy;

*Some players are getting older or slowly going inactive (Leblanc and Scheel);

* rebuild or going all in.

 

So good luck to the next Calgary GM whoever he is.

 

And who do you think will take this job? Am I right with my predcitions?

Great article and I would love to manage a VHL team but not yet I want to play a season or two before I think about managing a team.

 

It's great that I'm one of the first people to come to mind about the job too!

In the end, the answer was none. Don't think eaglesfan was straight trolling, but he decided against stepping down. I have a feeling that Beaviss will become a VHL GM at some point though, as he's doing a great job with Ottawa.
