It has been ten long seasons since the VHL has seen repeat Continental Cup Champions. In Season 24 and Season 25 the Davos Dynamo became just the fourth team in VHL history to repeat as the Champions. The Seattle Bears accomplished this task in Season 4 and Season 5 and the Calgary Wranglers won back to back on two different occasions. One came early in in the leagues history as a stacked Calgary team won in Season 2 and in Season 3. Only the upset of the Iron Eagles in the inaugural VHL season prevented Calgary from breaking history as the only team to win three straight times. A feat that still has yet to happen.

However with the regular season coming to a close Quebec looks to join the elite class with the Wranglers, Bears, and Dynamo as dynasty level teams. While the VHL has seen other dynasties such as the Seattle Six reign, the long competitive streak of Calgary starting with their cup win in S30 and of course New Yorks record setting playoff appearances and finals appearances. But we haven't seen back to back champions in ten seasons. Quebec hopes to make that happen as the playoffs approach, but the legitimate question is...do they have a shot?

On paper the answer would be yes. Quebec boasts one of the top offensive teams in the league with a the best forward core going. A top line of Wesley Kellinger, Yuri Grigorenko and new addition Felix Zamora have been consistent. Only Zamora is below a point per game on that line, while Yuri is tied for team lead in goals and Kellinger leads his team in points. However equally is impressive is the best second line in the league with Tomas Valiq, Doug Clifford and Roberto Martucci. Tomas is having a solid assist season as he feeds the puck to Doug Clifford who shares the team lead in goals with Grigorenko. Robert Martucci has always been a constant producer his entire career but he has failed to hit a point per game this season.

Ultimately the Quebec team has the forward depth and star power to repeat rather easily. Defense still leaves a lot to be desired. Despite winning the Championship last season with only two defenders, Quebec will have a harder time of it this season. Alexander Valiq has been stellar this season, but Nicklas Valiq is having an off year. If it wasn't for the play of goalie Skylar Rift, Quebec could of lost a few more games this season.

Ultimately it is going to come down to a combination of team performances for Quebec to win. The team is going to have to rely on a solid and balanced offensive scoring punch and like last year stellar play from Skylar Rift. With teams like Seattle showcasing better defensive depth, and Toronto with the best goalie in the league in Remy and an equally as dangerous team offense the path to the finals isn't going to be easy for Quebec this year. If they manage to get far however, a championship win seems likely. The only team in the European conference that has given Quebec fits this season is Davos, as they have handled the rest of the European teams rather well.

At the end of it all Quebec has the roster on paper to repeat and has everything in their favor. But it will all come down to execution to see if the expansion Meute can etch their name in VHL history.

TL;DR QUEBEC IS GREAT BUT OTHER TEAMS ARE GOOD. WILL TAKE GOOD PLAYOFF PERFORMANCES FOR QUEBEC TO WIN. :P

I hope not because their goalie thinks he is so awesome and constantly shoots off about other goalie(s) in the league.

Yeah Skylar Rift is a fucking scumbag. Hilarious how he won a Kanou and a Shaw and two cups despite being the most arrogant cunt around. He doesn't deserve to win anything else, which means he will win another Shaw and another Kanou. The asshole that he is. He can't win fuck all after this season though...I made sure of that!

A boy can dream. I'll laugh hilariously if Rift stinks it up this playoffs. I just know he won't. He never does. He's always been a great playoff performer....Tukio on the other hand......:P

Look at the arrogance on Brovy. It is going to be hilarious to watch Osbourne and Zhumbayev star power their way to the finals at the expense of Davos I think. Helsinki Quebec rematch is imminent.

Fucking kidding me?

Our 2nd line center has more points then anyone on your team, we would stomp Quebec, Helsinki is a cake walk to Davos,

You all suck monkey nuts. Playoff rivalries? We know what those are in Cologne because we have a potato...yes a potato. He has suffered long hot days in the fields and even some days without any water. However, he has overcome those things and pushed his team into playoff talk. A fucking potato is what beats you rancid little fucks.

Wozniak had more points than every single player in the league last year. Lot of good that did his team in the playoffs. But it's okay, keep measuring regular season individual player performances for the playoffs. Davos turning into more of the villains than Quebec. Boom is like the only classy guy left in a sea of arrogance. Playoffs is going to be fun!

Turns the subject from how shitty Quebec's forward group is to Wozniak and the past. LMAO

We have the best forward core in the league....

BUT OMG DAVOS HAS MORE INDIVIDUAL PLAYER POINTS! OUR SECOND LINE CENTER IS L33T! INSERT OTHER CHILDISH COD LIKE TERMS AND REFERENCES AND A TYPO OR TWO!

There is a thing called line strategies Kesler. Notice how you guys have been playing all out offense or close to all season long? Meanwhile Quebec has been playing 3 defense 2 offense on most lines, and not going all out. Despite all the "points" your individual players have Davos has only scored 16 more goals this season than Quebec and the same number of wins. Is Davos good? Yeah. But don't try to talk sim logic with me. You don't have the equipment to stand a chance, not to mention  I unnaturally obsess over that shit. If we were to fight heads up in the finals it wouldn't be a cake walk for either team. Quebec has the star power, Davos has the depth, all come down to finding the right lines and relying on some individual playoff performances.
