Due to comments originally made by both team's GMs leading up to and throughout the VHLM Dispersal Draft (at least I think that's when it started) the trash talk started flowing back and forth between the two teams, centering primarily around who will win the Founder's Cup. So far, Ottawa has walked the walk, beating Las Vegas in 2 out of the 3 meetings so far. More importantly though, this rivalry should give a little bit of insight to new, and even "previous gen" new members, into how the VHL used to be, when the majority of the league were still annoying teenagers. While I think everyone on the Lynx and Aces don't actually hate each other are just having some playful banter back and forth, there previously were team and member rivalries that got personal. The New York "Short Bus" era. The early/mid-S20 Bears teams, I think a Vasteras team somewhere along the way, and a S40ish (I think) Quebec City Meute team that saw 2 or 3 excellent free agents team up and join a possibly already solid team.
