The Ultimate Unsung Hero?

The all-time VHL leader in postseason goals with 15, Chico Salmon

Chico Salmon was never a gamebreaking player, he didn't even finish his career with a PPG above 1.0; he sits 178th in all-time VHL scoring. But, he is 1st overall in arguably one of the most important statistics of all -- Game-Winning Goals in the postseason. Salmon is a member of an exclusive club, having reached the playoffs in every VHL season he played, and he sits 2nd all-time in playoff Games Played; the massive amount of experience certainly benefitted Salmon. Perhaps his magnum opus of postseason's was in S36, when he potted a whopping four game-winning goals in only 13 games; despite Salmon's clutch factor, his Toronto Legion would fall short in a tough seven-game bout with the HC Davos Dynamo. In S37, Salmon and the Legion would get the last laugh though as they sweep the Dynamo, with Salmon collecting 3 game-winning goals in the process. Chico Salmon was a prime example of a player who came through when you needed him most, and for that reason I consider him one of the VHL's greatest Unsung Heroes.
