Whether updating or not, a 300+ TPE player has decent value, and it'll be a good addition to a team trying to climb out of a rebuild. But on the other, did he know he wanted the cap? I say this myself assuming he didn't. I don't know when the Tukio deal came into place but keep in mind if that was the "scheme" all along would he not of sent him an offer sheet from the beginning? It screams to me like Chris wanted more options, kept Meg on just in case and when he realized a chip had fallen in a way that would work out for New York he did what he had to do.
