Aye my name jeff 121
Recruiting - VHL Continuing My Journey Recruited, and Why I stayed. My VHL journey has been, well interesting to say the least. I first found out about this league shortly after I joined EFL, due to the previous affiliation between the BIG 3, SBA, VHL, EFL. I was recruited by my close friends @gorlab and @jhatty8 and they are a major part of the reason why I stay in the VHL. Anyways, this is my first article in the VHL, after, what, 5 seasons? So it's interesting, however, this weeks theme is recruitment. And there are multiple ways to recruit a person to the league, but that's not the only part in the recruiting journey of a league. You also have to make sure they are able to stay active, and visibly enjoy the league, there were a lot of things that helped me stay active in this community. When I first came to the VHL, I was quickly taught about the earning system, and having someone to help me immediately made a huge impact in my own mindset, in terms of if I wanted to stay in this league or not. Another factor was that I was joining a contending team right off the bat. In all of this, my own drive to be great, a decent community, and many helpful users were the sole reason why I stayed in VHL, even after the SBA affiliation ended. Ways To Recruit Others There are many different ways to recruit people, and in my opinion, it all depends on the type of user you are looking for. Or well, the type of community you are looking for. Reddit isn't that bad of an option, but it depends on course which sub reddits you advertise on. In almost every case though, when recruiting from reddit you run the risk of bringing an immature 10 year old on the site, and that can damage your community for sure. However, that's what we have rules and guidelines for, to let the userbase know what we expect from them in terms of behavior in the VHL. I honestly really like that the VHL also advertises on YouTube as well, it's unique, and I haven't seen any other league adapt to this type of recruiting. But, the thing is, it's quite efficient, and in theory possibly brings in more members then it does for Reddit. Cross League recruitment is something I often do for the leagues I am in, with this EFL VHL affiliation, it might best to get both userbases in each leagues if they are interested enough, and expand this partnership even more. Wrap it Up In the end, the VHL has done extremely well in over 70+ seasons, making change when needed, and adapting to the new world. They have found many ways to ensure that their league stays active, and have done well in terms of allowing first gens to progress properly, and excel when they work hard. The type of recruitment the VHL does is vast as well, and shows that they are willing to do whatever they can to bring new type of people to the league, I'm glad I stayed in the VHL for one, it's a great place to be. It can teach you a lot of things about life, and ultimately, I've had fun here. Thanks to all for reading. VinCal 112
Well written article featuring a hockey GiF to draw my interest. Grammar was well and each part of the article was broken down in three sections explaining each in detail. 8.5/10 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/81226-recruitment-vhl/#findComment-735911 Share on other sites
