If the playoffs started now... how would Toronto fare?

Recommended Posts

If the playoffs were set to began today, the Toronto Legion would face off against the Seattle Bears in the first best of seven post-season round. In a way... it would be rather poetic that these two teams would meet each other, after an ongoing three season battle where the Legion have charged in and dealt blows much to the anger of Seattle GM Campbell. While their record against Seattle isn't as good against the Bears this season, the Legion have gone 8-9-3 against the Seattle club thus far. Now their record against the Bears is 1-3-0 this season, but GM Peace is confident they'd steal a few playoff games away from Seattle.

"We might not win a series," Erik Killinger stated. "But I think we'd keep the series closer than some would expect."

In the four games they've played against each other, Seattle leads Toronto 14-8 in goals, but the shots dispersion that tells the story: Hextall is busy, very busy, facing a blistering fifty two additional shots while keeping the games relatively close. Toronto's recent acquisition of Elmebeck should help tighten the shot differential, so it'll certainly be exciting to see how these to clubs face against each other now that playoff implications are slowly becoming a reality for the rebuilding Legion.

At the moment Toronto would likely fall in five or six games, but the experience Legion players would receive would give them opportunities to cement themselves as a contender further down the road, perhaps even land on some free agents radar as a viable team in the next off-season.

S70: 4-2-2
S71: 3-4-1
S72: 1-3-0
