The boys from mother russia are off to a decent start to the season with a record of 12-9-2. For this media spot, I will be giving a view of how Moscow's defense and offense (numbers wise) stack up against the rest of the league, as well as looking at some standout/breakthrough players and how their doing for the Menace.

Offense

When it comes to scoring, Moscow have 67 goals for in 23 games so far. Considering that scoring seems to be up throughout the league this season, its not the greatest claim to fame. They sit tied for 5th last when it comes to goals scored, that sounds a lot better in a 12 team league, but now there is 16. Despite the lack of offense in S73 for the Menace, there are a lot of great individual performance starts. with some paces set to beat said players personal bests, lets go down the list and see.also to avoid repetition and getting sick of the number 23, all player stats mentioned are through 23 games Zoiderberg is on pace to just barely beat his best ever points season. The Moscow veteran has 13 goals and 12 assists which is another very strong start. Now what I'm about to say gets me really excited. Kind of imagine the last decade and a half with the Oilers, except imagine this time that things worked out with all the prospects. Letang is having a breakout year, with 6 goals and 17 assists. Also I didn't know it was possible to be that good in your rookie season? it gets better, because Moscow's possible future #1 center Brandt (yes I had to say possible, believe it or not, Brandt somehow has competition in that position?) has been killing it in his rookie season as well, with 10 goals and 11 assists. now I could get to every players, but I wanna highlight the standouts, the eyebrow raisers, not the players having seasons we expected. Calia is doing some bits for the Menace as well, on pace to shatter his rookie season numbers with 7 goals and 6 assists so far. While the Menace looks like they have some work to do on the production side, the defense looks much better.

 Defense

This seems to become a new theme for Moscow in recent seasons. With just 62 goals against in 23 games, that's good enough for 5th in the league. This is almost a complete 180 compared to the offensive side of their game. Glancing at the defensive stats for Moscow players, pretty much every player has defense at 85 or higher, which could be a nice contributing factor. The goalers have been very steady in net this season too. Bernard has a 9-8-2 record which he won't be the happiest about, but you can't complain about a .919 SV% on a team that is still rebuilding. Gunnarsson has come in for 4 games as the backup, with a small but mighty record of 3-1, with a whopping .946 SV%.
