Blazzer 759
Hi guys. In this article, I'll be introducing the Chicago Phoenix Prospects. Those that are still in the VHLM but are drafted by us. I thought it would be nice as the AGM to highlight some of these wonderful people that are the future of the team. I hope this isn't stupid like the previous article I wrote.. Enjoy! Kloxified @Kloxified – 267 TPE A goalie that is has played all his minor games for Yukon has been a pleasure to watch as he develops. By the end of the season, he’ll have close to 12,000 MP under his belt. This is an unbelievable feat that many can’t achieve with their time in the minors. His stats are weird to see actually. Klox has never had a SV% above 0.9 but has done tremendously well last season with 52 wins and his career lowest GAA of 2.34. His time in Chicago will be important for his development as well. For a short time, Klox will likely be backing up the Chicago legend, Camus but with time he’ll be able to take some load off of Camus. Chicago will have a powerful tandem between the pipes! Darius Marimoto @dariusmarimotoman – 229 TPE His earning has been slowing down recently, changing from PT earning to welfare. This will certainly affect the speed of his development but his stats and performance is anything but bad. Darius was a 52nd overall pick for Chicago which is definitely a steal! He’s active in discord and his minor team, Philly’s locker room. Darius oddly has never been a consistent earner but never fails to put up the points in games. Bobo expressed that he has intentions to come up for S76 which will help the team tremendously. Darius has seen himself play PP minutes but PK minutes and he has 7 points on the man advantage. Not too bad I would say! Darius only has 94 shots this season so far. He doesn’t shoot much on ice but that comes with a low scoring rating. Marimoto has a great build that will see him be able to score and make sick set up passes for his line mates. He will easily be able to play on the 3rd line when he comes up and with time, he’ll see himself play on the second line as well. Regardless of the line he is on, Darius will be a key player on Chicago for sure. Steve Eso @Eso – 214 TPE Eso, the captain of the Saskatoon Wild has just eclipsed 100 games! Congrats buddy! Eso has never had an off season, performing in every season for every team he played on. Eso is an asset for his team in every situation. Powerplay, D-zone, O-zone and even short-handed. He also had his first career hat-trick! What a season for the guy, you can’t deny it! With 639 faceoffs taken, he can certainly work on his faceoffs but his scoring and playmaking capabilities is what sets him apart. Eso can do both equally well. With 92 shots taken and 12 of them ending up at the back of the net, his shooting percentage is a good 13.04%. A reliable centreman that Chicago will have in the lineup in the future as well. I believe he’ll play well on a line with a veteran and Darius but only time will tell. His line mate should be one that can set him up for goals but also someone that can score. A lot to ask for but that’s why a line has 5 players. Eso has a lot of potential and picking him up from the draft is a huge addition to the team in the future. Jordan Tate @Aye my name jeff – 223 TPE The Mississauga centre also recently eclipsed 100 games in the minors. Jordan has improved in so many ways and his potential is high. Jordan is rather all round as well with a lethal shot, pinpoint passing accuracy and great reaction time for FO wins. He has a 60.39% face off % which helps his team in the O-zone to continuously keep the pressure up. Jordan has seen time on the PP and PK where he also contributed a lot. Tate should see himself graduating to the big leagues next season and Chicago will be ready to have him. I can see him playing with Eso and Darius but this will depend on who moves up and line chemistry. Tate’s earning is also rather consistent with affiliate PT being his main source of income. It will be interesting to see how he can grow further with his remaining time in the VHLM. Maksym Jankowski @Max12 - 143 TPE The Minnesota winger is in his VHLM rookie season after being drafted 87th overall. A good place for development, Maksym will likely spend at least 2 seasons there. It’s still too early to tell if he’s a playmaker or a sniper but I wouldn’t shunt his capabilities. With 13 points in 20 games, his playing style certainly fits in to the team. Maksym has found himself on the PP and PK but has barely had point contributions. Maksym is the highest TPE player on his team but is still trying to find his grip playing on the 1st and 3rd line. All in all, Maksym has a bright future as a potential 3rd liner on Chicago with his current rate of earning. However, anything can happen and things might turn around for the better. His development in Minnesota is crucial for his future of playing in the VHL. New Player @I'll change this later– 151 TPE New Player has significantly changed to be a playmaker this season with 13 assists. He was drafted by Mississauga at 40th overall and Chicago at 69th overall. His playing style can’t be confirmed yet as his SC and PA ratings are still the same. Just like his fellow friend Maksym, he’ll likely stay with the Hounds in S76 for another season of development. The Hounds is a great place for developing into great players as their history suggests. New Player is exceptional in the D-zone. 7 SB for him and he’s already passed his career record. Forwards that are reliable in the D-zone is a great asset to any team and he’s exactly that. With the wicked accuracy he has, he’ll be an amazing playmaker if he’s intention is to be one. However, no one would reject a goal scorer to help the team out right? Just like all the other, his development would be one to look out for as he strives to help the team out. Yuuto Kira Cloudera @kentakira – 200 TPE Yuuto was traded to San Diego after 2 seasons with Minnesota. Yuuto is a pass first D-man and can be helpful when paired with a offensive line of scorers. Even though Yuuto is a welfare earner, he has made it to 200 TPE however I do question how well he’ll be able make the jump to the VHL. His stats doesn’t prove good things as a veteran of the VHLM now with him never being able to dominate in the league. He has been steadily improving by the season and that lessens my worry. One shocking part of Yuuto’s play so far is that all his goals are on the PP. A difficult thing to do for a D-man but he did it! Another great feat by Yuuto was winning the Founders cup in his rookie season. Many don’t get to enjoy that fairy tale journey. Yuuto’s future might seem unsure right now but his VHL season should be around the corner. His rookie season might not be a banger but this young prospect will be able to contribute well enough too. He also has 52 TPE banked up which might show inactivity of some sort but I’m optimistic. That about sums up the Chicago Phoenix prospects! We’ve got an optimistic group of young and talented hockey players ready to show their skills on the big stage. I’m looking forward to seeing them wear the Chicago unis one day and it’s not far away. 1339 words.
