A Desperate Plea for a Desperate Team

@dlamb, ol buddy, ol pal.

You cup chaser you.

You, Rookie of the Year.

You need a Continental Cup, and you know that the D.C. Dragons are poised to get that next season.

We came just inches away from beating Malmo is 7. Remember, the playoffs are 3 rounds long. DC has won 3 playoff rounds in the last 2 seasons.

Our shortfalls from last year have been fixed. Our D-corp is revamped with the legendary Cinnamon Block and Defenz Mann choosing to join the Dragons. Ove Dyrdahl is a proven winner in this league, and adds that much needed grit and sandpaper to the team.

Our goalie is, as you know, world class. Stone Wolski cleaned UP at the awards show and will be running back the exact same build for the S76 playoffs.

Now, our forwards are the final piece. We've got some aging stars desperate for a win. Guy Lesieur, fresh off his goal scoring title, and perennial MVP candidate Benny Graves will fight tooth and nail for their Cup. Those two beauties can anchor any line, and even with a pylon on their wing, they can beat any team's top six lines.

Our other line has Groovy Dood. 'Nuff said. There's space for free agents to roll with the Dood though. We're going to convince Xavier Laflammant to resign, and him and Groovy have some serious chemistry. They're a great duo, but you know what's better than a duo? A great trio. Add in another S73 wizard in DLamb and that line will FEAST on weaker (every) team.

You build a team from the net out. We've got the superstar goalie. We've got the men who defend the goalie. Now, all we need is the star free agent forward.

That's a winning recipe in the EHM - let's make it work in the VHL.

So that's a theoretical Cup over 2 seasons?

If we make the Finals and lose again, we’ll have 2 half-Cups that we can cash in for a full one!
