The dynasty has run its course and must be sold off to accelerate the incoming rebuild. Matt Bentley and Naomi Young are two of the first to leave, traded to the Quebec City Meute, a team needing a boost in their rebuild. Later, two more Davos mainstays in Felix Zamora and Lennox Moher join the “HC Quebec City Dynamo”, now a growing threat in the North American Conference. The only bits missing from the successful Davos team are captain Thomas Landry and good luck charm Jarkko Olsen. But Season 40 doesn't go to plan for Quebec. The team never clicks and ends up falling in the first round to the underdog Calgary Wranglers, inspired by none other than Thomas Landry. Olsen wins the cup with a dominant Riga Reign. Zamora and Moher retire, while Bentley and Young are traded away, as Quebec chases a Continental Cup for four more seasons without success. -------------------------- Season 48, the curtains are drawn on Helsinki's 3-finals-in-4-seasons run with a 5-game loss to the heavily-favoured Toronto Legion. The dynasty has run its course and must be sold off to accelerate the incoming rebuild. Greg Clegane and Aleksi Koponen are two of the first to leave, traded to the Quebec City Meute, a team needing a boost in their rebuild. Later, two more Helsinki mainstays in Wolfgang Strauss and Pablo Escabar join the “Quebec City Titans”, now a growing threat in the North American Conference. The only bits missing from the successful Helsinki team are captain Phil Hamilton and good luck charm Marcel Faux (and Matsikas and Kaminogi). All I can say is thank fuck Jack Kowalski's retired.

This awards ceremony is as sexy as the World Cup itself. Didn't win anything (except CLEGANEBOWL), but by far my favourite off-season tournament since before the disease that was the Super Cup.
